Could he be?
Well, that was the question posed to me today by a very well placed Ibrox source.
Of course, it cannot be denied that the Sevco High Command have only themselves to blame for the ongoing machinations from the King across the water.
They started this with the 10p share issue.
That was an existential threat to the value of King’s remaining shareholding in RIFC.
Then, to compound that declaration of civil war, the in house PR Superhero took a scattergun approach to the klanbase.
A more intelligent approach would have been to reach out to disaffected elements within the Club 1872 folk and make alliances.
Instead, well, here’s the statement.

In PR terms, this was a monumental own goal.
It turned potential friends into determined enemies.
Consequently, I’m told that there is currently very little meaningful dialogue between the club and its customers.
Mr King knows full well that the Australian trip is upsetting large swathes of the klanbase.
The Sevco High Command might not know the numbers across the city, but they have a fair idea that Celtic are receiving substantially more than Sevco from the organisers of the Sydney Supper Cup.

At this stage, I reckon that the folks Down Under would be delighted if the ten-year-old club would Do Walking Away.
That would allow them to hit them with the penalty clause and source a replacement that will not bring a convict crowd to the matches.
Meanwhile, I’m told that The competition organisers have permitted Celtic to use their own commercial arm.
Moreover, I’m sure that Adidas will be all over this one for the Hoops.
As with most things in life, timing is everything.
In a short while, it will be season ticket renewal time at Sevco.
Obviously, Mr King knows that.
It is worth noting that when he was angling to take over the basket of assets in early 2015, he asked fans to withhold their monies from the club.
I’m not saying he will do that again, but he does know that ST renewal time is a pressure point on the club.
My guy finished our chat by chuckling that Mr King might even have a stinging statement prepared if Ange’s Bhoys do the business on Sunday.
He reasoned that in the aftermath of a Celtic victory, the Ibrox crowd could get ugly.
Therefore, they would be more likely to listen to Dave’s critique of the current regime in the Blue Room.
In that sense, the best possible outcome on Sunday for the South African based businessman was a Hoops victory.
Of course, I couldn’t possibly comment.

I wish they had a “Sevco for Dummies” (I know, I know) as I am completely lost.
If your aunt had #### she would be your uncle. When are all these bills going to Sevco.
The answer is never. Mike Ashly can’t get a judge to make a legal decision, and several others dont want to issue their bills,as they will be tagged as the person who shut down Sevco.
Sevco will be able to pay these bills, but the question will be where did the money come from
Sevco have paid bills from share sales, but the real money men have not been revealed, and the powers that be will not question them. This leaves us with if your not in the lodge join as they are,as the Kraus say invincible.
OR maybe King is following the tried and tested route of Whyte and Green, pick up the club on the cheap after the debt is once again shed and be the hero to the Ibrox faithful and claiming same club yada yada…
He is certainly in the position to cause major fan disruption and the papers are a good conduit for that with king and could have a major financial knock-on the club have to bear or maybe fold like a house of cards…
As suggested many times in many places this guy is not a PR man. Nor has he the background or intelligence to understand his audience and paying customers. He is trying to threaten a so called minority and to get the backing of the majority but he has been successful at neither option.
I’d forgotten about Dave’s (and Gough) call to put SB money in the Club 1972 fund… At that time to stop the board using Ibrox as borrowing collateral etc, another made up story. Dave’s fight this time is somewhat different and maybe some middle ground in getting him back on the board but why would he want that, maybe a vanity project.
However without diluting the shares ad-finitum how do they survive? It’s clear they cannot with the revenue they bring in and they will have a few large bills coming in shortly. Dave only plays with OPM can the current directors continue to fork out?
Dave’s best solution is for Club Tropicana to buy out his shares at a convenient price for him, get his fizzer in the papers for a few weeks and then getting bored and moving on.
“The Ibrox crowd COULD get ugly?
I know, I know.
There comes a time for all good emerging Celtic sides to go to Ibrox and smash it, I feel this is our ‘Lubo Game’ on Sunday.
With a shares issue priced at 10p it would be understandable if King was an even more miserable bear than normal. 🙂
An Ibrox PR squabble through to season end would be ideal.
Think Sunday has ‘Draw’ written all over it – including the obligatory, dodgy officiating.
I can foresee the House of Cards getting a 2 goal victory, hence giving DK his wish along with a 40M guaranteed path to the CL.for Celtic. Beautiful Sunday will be so, so, sweet.
