I knew there had to be a backstory to the Gerrard presser where he lamented the lack of transfer activity.
Dear reader, that hand grenade did not come out of thin air.
This morning a well-placed source who is in a position to know got in touch with me, and here is what he shared with me.
The Liverpool legend has been told that players will HAVE to be sold in January.
Moreover, he will not see any of the money that is brought in.
Instead, any gaps in the squad will have to be filled by loan deals with the parent club picking up ALL of the wages.
Of course, when a parent club picks up 100% of the wages, that often means that the loaned player must be selected for every game and plays in a designated position.
That means that Mr Gerrard would not have complete control over his starting XI.
The jam in that particular sandwich is the long-suffering Director of Fantasy.
Consequently, I was not surprised when my guy told me that there had recently been a rather tetchy exchange between him and Mr Gerrard.
On the subject of players sales, I’m told that the auditors are not happy with this hardy perennial appearing the year-end accounts yet again.
For several years now, this possible revenue stream has been included in order to balance the books and deal with the going concern warning.
The need for player sales has been stated in the accounts but has not happened in reality.
It remains to be seen if the UEFA folk are serious about Financial Fair Play regulations because if they are, the Sevco situation must be on their radar.
If players are not sold in January because of no offers, there is a Plan B.
I’m told that several well-heeled fans have been approached to make up the cash shortfall.
The problem with spinning the manager a yarn is that the chap in the dugout believes it and wants money to strengthen the squad.
It is worth noting that Mr Gerrard was hired after a sit down with one David Cunningham King.
Perhaps Stevie G believed those glib and shameless promises.
As I have stated, again and again, the Napoleonic General from Anfield is blessed to have the Managed Decline bhoys across the city.

Sadly, there is no change there as long as the main man is happy with the bottom line.

One other thing, I’m told that Sevco’s in house PR superhero was recently giving some relationship advice to the squad about what their significant others should and should not say on social media.
Dear reader, I really do not know where to start with that!
I will file it with the Ibrox klanbase, temporarily discovering that racism is actually a bad thing.

As far as I know, this organisation is yet to emerge from anonymous press releases.
There is still no one fronting up to the media.
Moreover, until that happens my assessment of this organisation as a spin operation remain extant.
However, the racism at Ibrox is very definitely authentic.
Since 2008 this site has been calling them out for their visceral hatred of Scotland’s multi-generational Irish community.
Thankfully that issue is now on the political agenda in a way that it has not in my lifetime.
As usual David Low is on the money…

If there was a functioning journalism in the Fitba Fourth Estate then this irony would be highlighted.
It should not fall to a journalist in another country to point out that the Genocide Choir at Ibrox is complaining about racism.

Oh, did you happen to see Keith Jackass has picked up on the transfer hoohah
He didn’t cite you Phil, he’s a bugger.
Initial reaction to the Gerrard presser was that he was hedging his bets – whilst getting his retaliation in first!
No money to buy new players, so if/when results take a downturn he already has his excuse out there.
Plus, if he did walking away, the support might blame the Board instead?
But that’s just PR gameplaying: the real fun will be contained in the Audit Opinion with the ’20/’21 Accounts.
Yet another world record for the Ibrox club must be the number of RIFC Share Issues over the last 12 months:
13 [thirteen] Share Issues since 5th October 2020, as per Companies House!
Kids are an ever present on Loyalist Parades.
As they are on bonfire night where racism and sectarianism are fully on show across these Islands.
The problems you see is where you have inherently putrid parents pouring their inherited poison into the ears, minds and hearts or their children.
The old adage of blaming the schools is often used but I think it has more to do with who packs them off to school and with what baggage.
UEFA?
Well they are about as effective as a trap door on a rowing boat.
Interesting comments on Clyde SSB last night.
Pundits and presenter as one in condemning children for booing Glen Kamara, claiming their actions were racists in nature. They also went to great lengths to accuse the Czech club, in fact they claimed the Czech nation had a problem with racism.
There comments, in my view were verging on xenophobia.
Keevins mentioned on a number of occasions that the clubs stadium had been closed to fans for their racist behaviour in a previous European tie.
Yet no-one mentioned the Ranger’s and Sevco fans racism charges or the partial closure of Ibrox due to the racist and sectarian behaviour of the Ibrox klan base or how their fans took to social media to encourage a packed Ibrox to give Leigh Griffiths non stop abuse from start to the end of the game, even if he was substituted or no mention of the abuse suffered by black and Irish catholic footballers who played for Celtic.
The double standards employees by the presenters and guest at Clyde SSB beggars belief.
I would love to see the evidence they have of those children being racist, maybe they can use the same evidence in the future when it comes to judging the Ibrox fan base.
Maybe the kids weren’t being racist just ‘sectarian’..!!!
