So, bye bye, Mr Dominic McKay

There is no sugar coating this for those of the Hoops persuasion.

Celtic have lost a top class CEO, and that is VERY bad news indeed.

This morning I spoke with two well-placed sources on an off the record basis.

What I can share with you is that the relationship between the Celtic CEO and Dermot Desmond had irretrievably broken down.

After listening to my sources, I fully understood why the Irishman was convinced that McKay’s position was untenable.

Both of them were keen to impress upon me has that there were several very red herrings already swimming in Celtic social media circles.

The Strachan conspiracy theory is just that.

Moreover, ex-CEO Peter Lawwell had no hand act or part to play in the departure of his successor.

I can also confirm that there were no football department matters pertaining to McKay’s sudden departure.

I’m sure Dominic will go on to do great things in the world of business and will not be short of excellent offers in the near future.

  1. Strange isn’t it….it would appear our Irish owner is beyond reproach, criticism..despite the absolute horror show last season and this latest nonsense. Dermot Desmond has been great for Celtic but the boardroom seems stale, fussy and set tin their ways.

  2. I know without being told that I’m a twisted auld cynic. It’s not a view I can argue with. I used to be classed as a young cynic. Then just a cynic. Now I’m called an old cynic. I’m actually surprised it took so long for the twisted bit to be added.

Whatever, as soon as I hear, “personal reasons”, being given as the basis for a resignation, wee alarm bells ring in my head. You’ve just turned up the volume, Phil.
