For the day that’s in it, I’ve been reminded what joy sport can bring.
I’ve just watched one of the finest demonstrations of hurling that I can remember.

If you want a soccer equivalent, think of Iniesta and Xaxi in their pomp a decade ago.
Even at halftime, it was over, and they should have been ordering more bandages on Leeside.
My bestie hurled for the Treaty back in the day, and no doubt he is on cloud nine somewhere near Croker at the moment.
Therefore, I would rather not be thinking of the Ibrox klanbase at the moment.
I will not post it here, but a video on social media is out there if you really want to find it.
It shows some Sevco fans on a supporter’s bus singing a song about Kyogo Furuhashi.
Dear reader, it is an open and shut case of racist abuse.
Sevco’s PR folk were quick to issue a condemnation and that they would conduct their own investigation.
“Rangers condemns all forms of racism and discrimination.
“Those who indulge in such behaviour are not representative of our club or the loyal support who have stood by us through thick and thin.
“We are currently investigating to identify the individuals involved.”
Of course, “all forms of racism” include anti-Irish racism, which is the rub for the Sevco High Command.
If the Ibrox klanbase cannot voice their hatred of the Fenian othered, then matchdays somewhat lose its allure for the fascist underclass who wrecked George Square in May.
In the era of BLM and taking a knee, even some of Sevco’s players have had to confront the racist nature of the Ibrox klanbase.

“Let’s try again”.
Indeed so…
If this subculture is not viewed as a serious social problem by Holyrood folks, then there really is little hope for them as legislators.
Next Sunday, if things are going the way of the home side, then Sevco’s valued customers will laud the memory of a fascist street gang led by a member of the Ku Klux Klan.

The takeaway of this appalling incident today is not complicated.
Indeed it is even simple enough to be understood by the chaps on the Glasgow sports desks, and it is this:
If you turn a blind eye to one kind of racism for generations, you implicitly authorise other variants.
This site started in 2008, and the first issue that was tackled here was the emergence of a new addition to the klan’s repertoire.
What became known as the Famine Song was defended by the usual suspects in the Stenography Corps.
Thankful the judiciary in Fair Caledonia has a moral compass on these matters. The following year, they ruled that it was racist and aimed at Irish people and Irish heritage.
In appealing his sentence from Kilmarnock Sheriff Court, Mr William Walls did the state some service.
When the Irish arrived in Scotland fleeing An Gorta Mór, they were racialised and othered by the locals.
That wolrdview is still extant amongst the Ibrox klanbase, and the chaps on the sports desks are complicit with their silence.
Now here we are in 2021, and the Ibrox klanbase is still a nexus for racists.
I wish I could just think about hurling.

Let’s be honest here, they will never change. For over a hundred years,in Scotland & especially Glasgow,we have been subjected to anti-Irish & anri-Catholici walks & the bigots wonder why we cling to our Irish heritage! Anti-Muslim,anti-Jewish parades anyone? No chance. Anti-Fenian etc,oh get in there. Glasgow City Council should show some bollocks & ban these lowlifes but like the polis, don’t want to upset the “Queen’s Highway” mutants. Best wee country in the world!
Personally I reckon there was a lot worse on that bus than this video
In my opinion the orange top worn by some of the ignorant subjects and procured from the very organisation who claims to be inclusive, reviling all forms of racism and discrimination sums the situation and their attitude towards it entirely.
I do hope police Scotland can find the manpower and resources to apprehend these travelling illiterates, but as yet, they, Police Scotland are not aware of the video mentioned, (surprised as the rank and file are the ones likely to be sharing it). I also hope they go further than the Glasgow Times when they contemplate any investigation as the story has made way in the Scottish Sun to a puffed Dorito being found in Australia..
Horrible video of horrible people doing horrible things. Sadly twitter has done what twitter does and turned it into a whatabouttery sagging match.
But to the PR team at Sevco… This is evidence of racism. A crime in Scotland. You don’t investigate this yourself, the police investigate it. You may assist, and you may also ban those involved from your premises, but these statements (actually football clubs the world over are guilty of this, including Celtic) released are always “we have started an investigation” rather than “we will help the police investigate the horrible event and ensure justice is served.” To me, the difference is that the statement they actually use is really saying “don’t keep talking about it and using our name, we’re going to pretend we’re on top of this” and nothing more.
I suppose technically the sound could be edited, but not the visual of the creep doing the ‘slant eye’ pose. How are they going to explain that?
Easily explained……….. It was Chelsea fans.
Well Said Robert and GerryC
Just like the sweet Caroline video, but! but! it was doctored, was it fk
We know it, and so do they, masonic scotland sweep, sweep, as is the norm
From on the pitch to george square, nothing changes
Still not convinced that Kamara was racially abused, not a easy thing to prove when it’s your word against another’s, whatever was said was used by rangers to deflect from their poor performance and defeat and claiming racial abuse a easy tool to use, and convenient in this take the knee epidemic which is used by some to also raise a clenched fist in the black power salute, such as Goldson of Sevco themselves which is a clear racial statement, but of course no one would dare point this out for fear of being called a racist themselves. Was refreshing to see in the Celtic v Dundee game the Dundee players did not knee down before kick off, well done to them for not being sheep.
Given the player’s immediate reaction I have no doubt that he was racially abused by Ondrej Kudela.
Do you not think there’s enough insults or slurs outwith racial ones that would make him react?
“‘I pumped yir maw last night” for instance;
I’ve no idea what was said, Tonev was labelled a racist on the balance of probabilities because of Logan’s word and Shay was of ”good moral character” … That character status has plummeted somewhat since then.
Not comfortable with one person’s version of what was said holding sway over another person’s.
Exactly
“Take the knee epidemic”; “black power salute”; “not being sheep”.
There’s your white privilege right there. These are the wholly ignorant words of someone who does not have a clue about the daily struggle, the abuse endured, the being treated differently based solely on your skin colour, accent, or other ethnic characteristics.
I bet you don’t even think you’re racist either? At least not in your own empty head you’re not…
Shame on you!
Good reply. Be abusive and insulting. Well done
You seem to be an apologist for racists, like Phil I’ve got no doubt that Kamala was racially abused when you see the instant reaction by him and other players that night. Good on Celtic on continuing to take the knee, by doing so they are supporting the principles on which our club were founded which were sportsmanship and charity towards all.
The vast majority of Celtic fans support the players taking the knee as is proven by their applause of the gesture in support of all anti racism efforts.
Well said D Mhor, it appears that when you speak sense and call out someones true character, that is abusive and insulting. The irony of this reply is staggering given the lack of self awareness or awareness in general to genuine social inequality and issues. Taking a knee is a gesture of solidarity to the struggles of people who suffer social/economic oppression and prejudice due to the colour of their skin and a fight against systemic racism. If you do not support or understand that simple gesture, you are the issue
You’re obviously too young to remember the regular sixties Ibrox chant, “I’d rather be a darkie than a pape!”
You DON’T have to be some shade of brown or black to be abused. Which is why I personally will ALWAYS be in the ALL LIVES MATTER corner, whatever colour ANYONE’S skin is.
I now await the accusations of being a racist.
Albhoy…of course Kamara was racially abused, otherwise, why did he assault Kudela in the tunnel? Plus, you read too much into Goldson’s clenched fist. And obviously you’re not a sheep either. Hmmm !
Everybody has known for decades about the ‘values’ emanating from Ibrox.
Most have become aware since 2011/12, if not before, at the pathetic standard of sports ‘journalism’ in the SMSM.
In the last couple of years it has also become painfully obvious just how inept/corrupt/malicious [allegedly] the Scottish Government, the COPFS and Police Scotland have become, or always were?
There seems to be a distinct lack of encouraging signs to suggest that any of the above will significantly improve anytime soon either.
🙁
Ibrox is investigating so nothing to worry about although as Nietzsche said “Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And when you look long into an abyss, the abyss also looks into you.” I am afraid that ship sailed long ago.
Fuksake,keep it light,it’s a Celtic/fitba forum no a fukn university exam.
Errrr…”The Video was edited by FInuns!!!”, “These are Celtic fans pretending to be Rangers Fans!!!”, “Just a wee bit of fun,” “Nothing to see here.” “Hard to make out who these people are on the video alone,” “How Old is your Granny?”
Good points, well made, but just one question. Do the self proclaimed marxist blm have any higher moral ground than a fascist organisation?
Who said that BLM is a Marxist movement?
And what does Marxism have in common with Fascism?
Acquire a modicum of knowledge before spouting rubbish. You lower the tone of the blog.
Probably can’t explain what Marxism is, I’ve never met a single person who says “BLM is Marxist” who can give a definition of Marxism. They just read it on some right wing blog or their favourite YouTuber says it.
BLM say that they are marxist. Self proclaimed
Well said GerryC
As I always say Phil Keep at them. No one else will.
Nice piece by the way.
TAL
What do Marxism and Fascism have in common?
They’re two jingoistic cheeks of the same arse.
BLM are self proclaimed Marxists. Self proclaimed You think you would have a half an idea of a group your support
Whit?!?!? JEEZ!
What the Hell are you on about, Marx was an economist in the 19th century putting forward an economic theory with absolutely no racism involved.
I haven’t seen any evidence of the BLM movement claiming to be supporters of Marxism.
I’m more surprised that people are surprised about this… The hypocrisy after Kamara was racial abused was unbelievable and whilst what happened to Kamara was a disgrace and unacceptable, his selective hearing is a slap on the face to everyone that’s ever experienced racial abuse.
Looks as if some of their fan base are not on board with ‘everyone, anyone.’
It’s not that long ago that the same people were up in arms about the Kamara racist abuse.
Thanks to social media, and their own moronic stupidity, the faces and the voices of the participants are out there.
Name them and shame them, if the latter is possible.
I’m assuming that none of them are employed by a Japanese company operating in Scotland but hey ho,you never know.
