Questions for Celtic about the 5 Way Agreement

Given that I have established that UEFA has never seen the infamous 5 Way Agreement then that possibly opens the door to other questions.

For example, the role of the Celtic CEO Peter Lawwell.

Indeed, it might explain the Parkhead club’s reluctance to vote through Resolution 12 (R12) at the 2013 AGM.

Of course, had they done so then it might have brought attention to the 5 Way Agreement that UEFA was unsighted on.

Here is the relevant section of R12 apropos UEFA:

This AGM requests the Board exercise the provision contained in the Procedural Rules Governing the UEFA Club Financial Control Body Article 10 with jurisdiction and investigation responsibilities identified in articles 3 & 11 (Note 1 ), by referring /bringing to the attention of the UEFA Club Financial Control Body (CFCB), the licensing administration practices of the Scottish Football Association (SFA), requesting the CFCB undertake a review and investigate the SFA’s implementation of UEFA & SFA license compliance requirements, with regard to qualification, administration and granting of licenses to compete in football competitions under both SFA and UEFA jurisdiction, since the implementation of the Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play Regulations of 2010.

Supporting Statement We the undersigned request this course of action, from our club’s custodians and corporate representation, responsible to protect our interests in line with corporate law. We consider the SFA governance has displayed a disregard for the rules and spirit of fair play, contradicted FIFA, UEFA & SFA mission statements and acted in contravention to the spirit of the rules of fair play outlined in FIFA, UEFA & SFA Rules, Regulations and Supplementary documents of which the SFA are signatories.

As with many other things at present, the Celtic board need to be honest with their many shareholders and extensive customer base before season tickets are renewed.

This just one of them.

  1. You have NOT established that UEFA haven’t seen the 5WA so do not attempt to lie or portray otherwise that you have.

if you were working as a proper journalist for a proper editor such a claim wouldn’t even make it to press and if it did you would have to retract it and apologise.

Which, if you had any decency about you , you would do now.

Because you’ve established nothing here except that UEFA can’t be bothered replying to you and your ridiculous, and ultimately useless, press card that you can’t help flaunting every chance you get, as though it confers some status other than pure shame upon you. .

Ask your mates in journalism anywhere why they never declare Rangers to be dead and Sevco a new club.

In fact, go one step further and ask why none of them even attempt to mount a proper investigation then follow it up with a detailed story that we can only currently find in Celtic cyberspace but nowhere else on Earth.

    Go on, Phil.

Be a proper journalist for once rather than some blowhard numpty hiding behind an NUJ card that should, in fact, be a source of great shame given the daily lies espoused by the spit lickers of your ‘esteemed’ profession.

  2. You say “Given that I have established UEFA has never seen the infamous 5 Way Agreement…”, but –

I cannot help but feel their reply to you was more of a “Tell him this and hopefully he’ll go away” than actual confirmation UEFA have never seen it. I just feel UEFA’s general opinion of this is they just can’t be bothered with it any more.

  3. Is it not the case Phil, that UEFA would do nothing to investigate this matter UNLESS it got a complaint from one of the member clubs?

  4. First up…Thank you Phil for the forensic work you’ve done on this subject…Its an outstanding piece of work.
My “concern” is…UEFA have been made aware of various ” discrepancies” regarding Rangers (IL) over the years…but nothing has been done….? Their attitude is…” Its a local matter.”
Now if that’s the case …Then the Hampden branch of Rangers (IL) supporter’s club…will ignore it.
But ..maybe…just maybe…you have opened a Pandora’s box …which will now be investigated by UEFA.
What I won’t do however is…hold my breath that Celtic Football Club will contribute to the investigation…Mr. Lawwell will hope and pray that it will be kicked down the road…at least until such times as he has left the building.
This is a shameful episode in our history…and hopefully your persistence will be rewarded.
    Again…Thank you.

  5. Peter said he did not see the five way agreement ,now is his chance to see it and report it to the authority’s dealing in fraud in football

  6. But, apparently Lawwell “has never seen the 5-Way Agreement”?

I’d actually have some respect, if still in disagreement, with the board had they just come out and said ‘we are going along with the survival lie because we think Celtic’s market viability is predicated on the Old Firm brand’. Its unsustainable for the board to keep playing dumb on the matter.

  7. McKay is just another place man for Desmond.
All they are interested in is percentages.
Ie what percentage of your earnings you part with in their direction.

    Same shi t different fly.

To change things at Celtic you first must change Celtic.
Otherwise it’s the same old, same old.

Who are our “pliant minions”, complicit in our miseries?

  9. Phil, UEFA’s dismissive response to your email tells us all we need to know about UEFA: they will only act if forced to do so.

To do so, my understanding is that they need to be approached by a member, in this case the SFA; what are the chances?

The SFA will only act if they are forced; what are the chances? What member of the SFA is going to force them? Celtic?

The 5-way stitch-up would only have been possible with Celtic’s complicity or, at least, their acquiescence.

The SFA, who were signatories, or Celtic who were complicit, are hardly going to report themselves.

Even if a new regime at Celtic wanted to act, I’m sure there is documentary evidence that records Celtic’s involvement and input into the 5-way stitch-up.

Meanwhile, in terms of football, we are rudderless, with no sign of hope on the horizon. No manager in place, no high-quality candidates linked with the job, and major first-team players moving into the last year of their contracts.

Over at Ibrox, Sevco have a strong squad, a focused manager, and an air of cohesiveness in contrast to our chaos.

We have been shafted by our own club. We had a chance to drive a stake through their dark heart, but we didn’t have the nerve to make the final cut.

  10. Can we ask about it under the freedom of information act. I am so angry it’s bad enough getting ripped off by them let alone our own club

  11. Lawwell and Bankier are complicit in the 5 way agreement and decided in 2012 to keep quiet and still earn the blue pound and go along with the continuation myth so that Lawwell and Dermot Desmond can earn more money. Its time uefa looked in to the sfa and look at the the newco’s finances. Lawwell has screwed the celtic supporters since 2012 let’s hope Dominic Mckay isn’t like heated driveway Pete.

  12. Celtic should be brought to task as should sfa was there a plan in place to let them win the league makes you seriously wonder

    • Maybe more than we think, some people think one hidden investor in Sevco was Desmond, and following the money it makes good sense. This could be a ticking time bomb.

    • When Stein took us to 9 IAR there was no end in sight to Celtic’s domination yet 10 never happened.
Ditto Rangers in their successful era that brought 9 IAR yet somehow folded when 10 looked a certainty.
It looks like history repeating itself again. I’m sure it’s purely coincidental and any talk of an unwritten agreement between the clubs is way off the mark.
