The heavy cost of credulousness

In the summer of 2012, many within the Ibrox klanbase complained that the death of their club was a terrible shock.

Their plaintive cry was “no one warned us this could happen!”

Yet on this site, they had been repeatedly told throughout 2011 that there was an evidence-based case for confidently predicting that Rangers (1872) would suffer an insolvency event before the 2011-2012 season had ended.

Moreover, once in Administration, I wrote that HMRC would not approve a CVA and liquidation would be the result.

You know the rest.

I was reminded of this over the last 48 hours when looking over the hedge into Narne Arne.

The Withdrawal Agreement between the European Union and the UK was only signed because of the Northern Ireland Protocol’s inclusion.

If the WA had not been agreed then the EU–UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA) would not have been signed on December 30th last year.

Six weeks later, the reality of what the Protocol means has finally reached the collective consciousness of “Loyal Ulster” (sic).

This short clip encapsulates it rather well.

I think it is fair to say that the People are revolting.

Yet, one of the people featured in that video was once an ardent supporter of Boris Johnson on the Brexit battlefield.

Now, all is changed, changed utterly.

James O’Brien on LBC  summarised the first six weeks of the Brexit reality with his usual aplomb.

He mentions Kate Hoey at the start of his clip and he works out how many days of the Protocol it took for her to work out that it was bad news for her beloved Narne Arne.

The answer, inevitably, was 42.

Now, Michael Gove has been dispatched to effectively renegotiate a treaty that the Brits signed two months ago.

The reply from the grown-ups in the EU can be read here.

Essentially, the gist of it is that the Northern Ireland Protocol isn’t going anywhere.

Indeed, if anything the restrictions on GB to NI trade will increase as, according to that letter from Maroš Šefčovič, the Brits still aren’t fulfilling all of their agreed tasks at Checkpoint Larney.

There is an undeniable sense of schadenfreude when looking at the angst of an evidence resistant subculture realising that they have been played like a flute.

The re-unification of this island in the century will be a process, not an event.

Since January 1st, 2021, an essential phase of that process got underway.

Whether the people of the Pravince realise it or not the Brexiteers of Middle England cares not a jot for Narne Arne’s semi-detached situation within the UK.

Intelligent people within the Six Counties, regardless of their tradition or heritage, are already psychologically sketching out what their future in the New Ireland will look like in the decades to come.

For the avoidance of doubt, on this island, there will be no Sevco fantasy to allow the folk in that clip to pretend that the old Orange State is somehow still alive.

  1. Von Thatcher walked out of the debate on Northern Irelands Covid Vaccine issue leaving those MEP’s without an answer to their impending questions on the matter.
In true Tyranical style the boss p to the peasants questioning her/their logic.
Last week a huge Dutch Trawler (Like the type that regularly plundered U.K. waters) entered Irish waters and began to plunder the resources as per EU rules and regulations whilst Irish boats continue to be limited in their meagre catch.
At some point Ireland is going to wake up to the reality that is is no longer a Republic but rather an irrelevant outpost of the EU Empire.
As the old decrepit, insidious one moves out the new polished turd moves in and so the historical cycle of power grabs on these Islands continues.

Meanwhile the average Janet and Joe in the street struggle to make ends meet.

  2. So did Von Thatcher The 2nd not walk out on the Irish MEP’s DURING the debate on the handling of the Covid Vaccine roll out in Brussels then?
Couple that with the Dutch Super Trawler entering Irish waters last week whilst local boats are on tight quotas.

    Wake up.

  3. I hear there’s nothing to worry about for Norn Ireland as it’s just the Holding Company that are facing liquidation . In other news Leo has asked Brussels what the going rate is for buying the history

  4. Brilliantly written humourous article on a subject that is far from humourous and will have huge repercussions for millions.
Perhaps Boris’s Bus, The Fisheries Ferry and all the attendant ballyhoo and lies from Brexiteers will (certainly should) be revisited and those liars and others involved in the manipulation of votes should be made accountable. Impeachment? Would be a good start. Anyone who hasn’t seen ‘Brexit: An Uncivil War’ should maybe begin there to comprehend at least part of what’s gone on.
Even some of ‘the huns’ may have to start moving into the real world, judging by the clip in the above piece.
Also, looks like Gove (in your pic) is trying to put his own nose ‘out-of-joint’. If he struggles with that, and Gove being Gove he will, I can guarantee there are tens of thousands like me who will rush to his ‘rescue’.

  5. You have to laugh at them. In the clip the guy is blaming Boris. He then freely admits he voted for brexit and with all the problems that he’s complaining about, he’s unsure if he would have voted for brexit if he knew. He’s that staunch he would more then likely still have voted for it lol.
Who said the banter years are over?

    • The banter years? Sorry pal. There’s absolutely NOTHING funny about this situation. Things WILL get a lot worse in N.Ireland before they get better. Civil unrest is a real possibility, actually increasingly becoming a probability, and people WILL get hurt. I do NOT see banter in a situation like that.

Alex Thomson on tv now,re.historic child abuse, sevco reply was; it happened before 2012 you need to speak to the administrators‼️

Sure that’s a stock reply for the ‘professionally offended’ Thanks to Irvine Welsh for that, because that terminology really sums that lot up.

      • Ha Ha Ha Ha – A journalist? NUJ card from a lucky bag more like. You are as thick as fuck Phil – either that or a paid government troll. Hate to tell you Ireland has NEVER been independent – still being run by the City of London Private Corporation on behalf of the VATICAN just like the UK EU and Scotland etc etc is as well and the US is via the District of Columbia, Washington Private Corporation as well and that is why the Deep State has tried to steal the election from Trump because he and the US Military are fighting to take that Deep State down. You are gagging to help bring in their New World Order – One World Communist Government as part of their United States of Europe with NO countries or governments. Why do you think that all of our countries are taking away peoples freedom and rights and are going to wipe out 95% of the worlds population via the “vaccines” with this totally FAKE pandemic based on the COMMON COLD because that is what the Coronavirus is you dumb fucker. You are just as dumb and stupid as the Rangers fans you slag off and bet you that you are so THICK that you do not realise that the House of Orange was a Catholic Region of France where the line had long died out and King Billy was a fraud sent to retake Britain for the VATICAN after King Henry VIII threw the Vatican out during his reign – the big mistake was he didn’t throw out the Vatican’s City of London Corporation and the first thing that King Billy did was set up the bank of England in that City of London Corporation that still owns and controls Ireland and most other countries on this planet today. You are a clueless cunt Phil and useless journalist and John James is totally right about you – everything that you have ever done is ripped off from other people.

          • Phil, don’t be too hard on Billy ( I gave him a capital for his name, as it should be ). He serves a wonderful purpose in life, his rant ( being kind ), excels in typifying what the dark side are about, also a very accurate indication of their powers of perception and intellect. What he presented, was a mind boggling concoction of a few accurate facts regarding the Pope’s support for William, and the devious political machinations of that era. What he could of added in was Kentucky Fried Chicken’s Col. Saunders and the Queen’s involvement ( see the movie “So I married an axe murderer”). Billy’s contribution to the tsunami of comedy from the dark side should be applauded.

          • Hmmmmmmmm 😂🤣🤣😂that made my day just had my vaccine, I do hope billy (no cap) didn’t hurt his finger to much thumping that keyboard, at least he left the dog alone.

            Keep at them Phil,
            TAL🇮🇪

            Ah may sides are hurting

          • billycarlin there with a helpful warning to us all about what can happen when that tin foil helmet slips off. Still, congratulations to him for his self-awarded overnight PhD from the Department of Paranoid Delusion at the University of Instagram (no study required), which has gained him his professorship in Moonhowling at the Royal Academy of TikTok. Or his mum’s spare room, as it’s otherwise known.

        • Oh my days, Billy Carlin. You are exactly what the dark side exudes and what the more sensible among us pish ourselves laughing at. Get those meds tweaked quick smart. HH
