An expensive typo for Sevco?

The problem with legal stuff is that it all has to be written down.

Consequently, if the wrong stuff is put on paper, then it can come back and bite you.

A few days ago, I was given a tip about a possible problem with the Ryan Kent contract.

However, that wasn’t enough to publish, so  I contacted a very well-placed Ibrox source to verify the story.

Here is what I was told:

The Conveyancing Consiglieri apparently brought his world-famous forensic skills to the Kent contract when the  Liverpool player signed a permanent deal with the basket of assets.

Dear reader, you may recall that this legal mastermind is the chap who brought you the watertight contract with Elite Sports and Hummel.

That is the one which has led to General Ashley being in litigation against Sevco over the past couple of years!

My information is that the player supposedly had a £15 million release clause in his contract, but there was a typo in the paperwork that was signed, and it said £5 million instead.

An easy mistake to make for sure.

Then the player’s representatives made the folks at Leeds aware of this minor detail which, if true, could save them around £10m for the winger.

Personally, I don’t believe that the Sevco High Command’s legal genius would allow such a basic error on his watch.

However, I have two sources who are adamant about this matter.

Of course, I’m sure that those intrepid chaps in the Stenography Corps will be all over this story.

Given their commitment to the facts, they will be able to establish whether or not this story is true.

Well, I’ve tried my best on that score from here in Dún na nGall.

After all, the Stenography Corps are better placed to have the final say on the issue given their dignified access to the Blue Room.

  1. Let’s sincerely hope that this is accurate Phil…if only to show ,once again, how, when it comes to business, Sevco suck.
Oh and based on what I’ve seen recently of Mr. Kent…he’s not even worth £5 million.
And did I see him bless himself coming onto the pitch recently ?…If so…he’s no such a bad lad after all..:0)
