I suppose it was always going to come to this.
That moment when the “better never stops” marketing boast had to be backed up with something more…well… material.

The Castore stuff does not seem to be a hit with all of the Sevco customer base.
Indeed, as of today, it would appear that some of The People are revolting.

For the avoidance of doubt, I have not personally got my Fenian mitts on this high quality and dignified apparel.
Therefore, I have to rely on the Qunitestially British feedback on staunch platforms like Follow Follow.
I had written here before that the Castore start-up outfit was a perfect kit supplier for Espanyol Glasgow.
Of course, Celtic have Adidas.
After all, it is all about levels and the Merseyside minnows were just right for thee eight-year-old club.
I recently got back in touch with my Shirebrook guy.
He said to me that General Ashley’s legal divisions have the deal sewn up more airtight than “the international space station”.
An interesting turn of phrase that reminded me of this:

He also reiterated that Big Mike makes something on EVERY piece of Castore kit that has the Sevco badge on it.

He stated to me that if those monies were not forthcoming to Sports Direct, then it would be back to court.
Now, I have no way of knowing if this is true.
Except to say that this is the source who confidently informed me that the great victory by King over Ashley in 2017 was really no such thing.
I wrote at the time that the devil would be in the retail and so it has been shown to be.
In the meantime, Sevco’s customer base receives reminders in the post that they follow follow the Espanyol of Glasgow.

Things must be extremely bad when the Daily Radar is forced to relay the problems with the Castore merchandise to it’s wider readership.
Who would have thought eh? Rangers and another supplier feck up.
What’s up next….the previous year’s financials covered in red?
Castore have jumped in here head first grasping the Rangers merchandising contract as an avenue to other football clubs and the huge volumes involved.
Given the cries of anguish from the Ibrox fan base as to delivery, quality and response to complaints, the two Scouser wideboys are in danger of losing the Rangers business and at the same time jeopardising their core business as the negativity from their Ibrox target market overwhelms them.
How long before another court case comes along as Castore and Rangers relationship plumbs the depths?
And still the bulk of the Ibrox fan base are of the opinion that SD and Ashley are no longer in the picture, despite Ashley having a binding contract which ties the club to SD for as long as he can be bothered.
Castore, the new boys on the block, running the merchandise operation?
No problem guys, just make sure SD gets their cut of the cake and all’s good.

When you get your new kit,
And it just looks like shit,
That’s Castore.
When you get it to wear,
And it just looks threadbare,
That’s Castore.
When you wear your new shirt,
And a star ends up in dirt,
That’s Castore.
When the weans shed a tear,
When their top is no here,
That’s Castore.
When you look to the east,
And the Adidas feast,
Eff Castore.
Read one of their fans tweeting that they have a Rodney and Delboy operation Now doing their retail
I have to say Trotters FC has a nice ring to it
Adidas vs the Trotters anyone?
Imagine names or numbers start to fail mid match
This Castore debacle has the potential to be the best humiliation and banter Generator of the lot
Haha, I often refer to Sevco as Trigger’s Broom FC 🤣
There is always the danger that a small company in any industry putting out a mass produced different product to its core business would struggle with volumes and quality.
Ramping up every aspect of your business model to cope is impossible to do in a few weeks and thus Castore, with eyes on the big money, are learning on the job.
For the sake of the business they have built up they had better learn double quick.
All I can say is 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 HH
You must feel sorry for them, the colours on the shirts can run faster than their chubby striker.
When asked to shoulder the responsibility of advertising the new Castore range Jacks shoulders simply failed to turn up
I see the Castore kit for Ibrox is available on the Sports Direct website. Might pop in to the local one to see if any are on display and check the quality.
So when are they due to pay SD what they already own from before the latest indiscretion?
No doubt Ashley’s legal guys will be on standby and the minute that any monies due to SD via the sale of Rangers Castore merchandise fails to materialise then the truth of the Castore deal, and SD’s cut of the revenue, will be duly out there, once again exposing the lies swallowed by the gullible as they queue up to buy the new gear.
Doesn’t sound good for TFoD and their kit. But Andy Murray uses this and is an investor. Think there are a few others on board. Is it teething troubles or have Castore gone in over their heads?
The Mike Ashley/Sports Direct connection adds more confusion.
Happy we move from one respected global brand to another.
When you’re teams 8 years old,
and you’re kits full of holes,
That’s Castore.
When you’ve no won a cup
cause the Hibs fecked it up

You paid £60, they paid £60. You’re happy with the quality. They’re NOT happy with the quality!!
🎵🎵There may be trouble ahead🎵🎵
“the devil would be in the retail”, that’s exceptional writing!!!
Heavy dose of “Castore” Oil for the Sevco 8 year old faithful.
Sherbrook Loyal? Surely that must be Shirebrook Loyal and they are taking the Mike with their tweet. Castore make class leading products don’t they? Maybe they should speak with Touler Suleyman and get a dragon on board for investment and cheap manufacturing facilities. And all the while we were begging Adidas.
the name castore comes from the use of castor oil in the fabric manufacturer , bangladesh is the main place its made
The post was from Sherbrook loyal…. However there no doubt the quality matches the peepul wearing it the the team they support HH
Does Ashley have access as to the exact quantity of sales or do Castore/ Sevco/Dave King advise him.
We know their figures relating to transfers etc. are exaggerated upwards.
I remember reading that the quality of the Castore merchandise was going to have a major impact on Sevco’s on-field performance. It certainly seemed to do that against Livi at the weekend.
I wonder what His Big Mikeness’ cut is of gear that the Castore lads sell and have returned for refund or replacement on account of it being shoddy?
So I popped over to that forum they have FF read the OP and many many complaints about the quality etc, badges, stitching and place of manufacture.
I panicked a wee bit went into my bedroom and pulled my very own recently purchased home top.
So first off, manufactured in Cambodia. Started to panic a wee bit when I read this, just cos of some of the various locations cited on FF. To be honest, the quality is great, wee black label at the bottom says Aeroready so I searched Google and found that Aeroready replaces the Clima range and only 4 clubs have the advance Heat.ready shirts which are priced at £110 mine cost £60 and tbh I don’t think I would have gotten a £110 one just to water to games.
The material is a.marked difference to some Clima range gear I have so I’m pretty happy.
Stitching is first class, embroidered logo and a cool wee four leafed clover on the back of the neck, kinda rubberised, Great neck and sleeve trim with the embroidered trademark on the shoulders not to mention the embroidery above the club badge.
All in well rounded and put together so don’t really understand what the complaints are….wait….I forgot he he he
We have a first class supplier providing first class replica shirts, although made in Cambodia (which I’ve had the pleasure of visiting) and may have thrown up the possibility of some defect or other but no, I think our kit supplier has a robust quality control mechanism that wouldn’t allow their name to be associated with 2nd class.
Unlike those on deludamol who will swallow any pish. You get what you pay for.
Hail hail and Mon the hoops tonight
‘just to water to games’ eh?
