I’m told that the Sevco High Command are distraught by the long term injury to Nikola Katić.

However, their anguish was primarily financial as the chaps in the Blue Room had high hopes that he could leave for a substantial transfer fee during this transfer window.
It is undeniable that the Croatian internationalist is a key member of Mr Gerrard’s squad.
With him now out for many months, he will have to be replaced.
One thing that became very apparent during the latter part of last season was the paucity of talent on the Sevco bench.
Quite simply, Mr Let’s Go did not have the resources to call on if injuries started to deny him his first-choice players.
All league campaigns are essentially attritional in nature.
Consequently, the side with the greater resources usually prevail.

That was true last season, and it is equally the case for the coming campaign.
I have heard that the injury to the Croatian was caused by an unfortunate coming together by another prized asset.

However, I’m sure is that it is indeed true, then he certainly didn’t mean it.
After all, he isn’t that type of player, and these things can just happen.
The critical issue now is whether or not Sevco possesses the resources to cope with this unforeseen loss.
That is another matter entirely.

Any truth in the rumour that Mike Ashley owns the badge rights? Why the sudden need to “modernize” the crest?
Are you sure your sources are correct Phil? It’s been non contact training over there until yesterday he got injured nearly a week ago now.
Eh, how could this come about or are you suggesting that Rangers are ignoring the no-contact training rules?
Excellent point! However, personally, nah, I just can’t see sevco breaking the rules. Just wouldn’t be dignified!
Celtic should give Aberdeen two Loanees for the first half of the season; Klimala & Arzani? to get them regular first team game time in SPFL and pump SEVCO on first day of season. Keeping SEVCO behind In second place all season.
If SEVCO were third after the Celtic pumping in October, Slippy would be sacked.
Is a Celtic v SEVCO game in October a big wait for some cash they wanted to get in August?
Is cash flow that bad?
Of course, it pushes the second, third and fourth games back further too. Hence the two Ibroke games are later in the calendar. That really does effect cash flow.
Sevco get NO cash from a game at Parkhead, or any other away game. The home team keeps the gate money.
I am anticipating an ” Oh dear!” but going in none-the-less.
The only reason Ashley has agreed to this deal and, as has been suggested, given up his right to compensation, is because the latter might have been the straw that broke the camel’s back and therefore he would have got nothing, especially with others rumoured to have first dibs on the collateral.
Perhaps the coyness of your guy at Shirebrook, could be explained by the fact their hand was forced.
How can this be better than millions in damages and a suggested 97% of profits outlined in the previous deal?
For the avoidance of doubt…I have no time for this Club or their Follow Followers…but I refuse to take any pleasure in this guy’s injury.
I hope he makes a full recovery…and gets back playing.
Hail hail
Aye. I don’t like to see ANYONE get badly injured. I’ve had bad injuries and they’re no fun.
Necropolis Ibrox. Where careers die, footballing, managerial and business.
The last football club out of Ibrox, Rangers FC died there in bankrupt, tax avoiding, football cheating shame.
The half dead club presently there put’s its faith in falseness and lies. It has been in the culture since SDM turned up and bought the old club on bank debt, which he put on the club’s books.
From merchandising lies, to clutching with a dying claw to zombie titles lies, to the same club continuation lie, Rangers versions are eternally imperfect but viable apparently.
Meanwhile, Celtic, are two matches from a quadruple treble.
Ach that’s a shame for Slippy. But at least his only good player, Barisic, is still sellable….
I’m sure that your not trying to suggest that a player known for his high levels of sportsmanship and ethics would lose his head and deliberately lash out at one of his team mates.
Slippy doesn’t have much of a knack at bringing players on or bringing quality in. Paying close to £12m for Helander and Kent doesn’t represent much value, they will be lucky to recoup half that on them. They’d also take £5m for Morelos, selling that as a £10m sale to the Gullibillies..
It might be over to Barisic for a punt.
They better try and sell Fatty soon otherwise Kent , Jack or another could be on his hit list .
Another wage and no return from it , there use to be a club in Glasgow before with a few like that ……….
Anyone remember Andrei Kanchelskis? It must be around twenty-five years ago now. They were paying him £40,000 a week and couldn’t get a game in their reserves. I could have saved them £500k a year.
I’d have happily not played in their reserves for £30,000 a week.
If the fevered transfer speculation on the staunch websites regarding the relative merits of umpteen multi million pound potential targets for about six different positions is anything to go by, their bench this year will be so strong it can support the chunky Columbian lad with ease
Very unfortunate. Maybe liverpool u17’s have someone who could fill in? HH
