I was recently told that when the Convict Chairman left the Blue Room, the Serious professional made a pitch to those who remained in the Sevco High Command.
He wanted them to press reset and pivot on their PR strategy.
Quite simply, he wanted them to, finally, level with the Ibrox klanbase and tell the truth.
Clearly, the performance art around Dossiergate would indicate that they, once more, decided to ignore his sober counsel.
Then there was the new PR chap from Béal Feirste.
My information is that the Serious Professional was not entirely jubilant at this appointment.
Regardless of Mr Graham’s lack of experience in communications, the message it sent out the rest of Planet Fitba was unambiguous indeed.
Even some of the most succulently loyal in the Stenography Corps ran for cover when the DUP chap was announced.
Therefore, I was not surprised to learn that the Serious Professional was fuming at this Tweet which was apparently put out the official Twitter account of the Engine Room Subsidiary.
I am told that it was not up for very long and this screengrab was sent to me.
Full disclosure, I cannot be 100% certain that this isn’t a funny bit of digital skullduggery.
However, it is the type of communications error that a PR rookie would make.
When I made a couple of calls, I was assured that the provenance of this Tweet was somewhere in Norn Iron’s biggest city.
Of course, the eight-year-old club has a laudable record in giving the in-house PR job to chaps who are clearly unqualified for the task.
Even with no football matches to lose the folks at Sevco are still in the entertainment business.
Oh, and just in case you are wondering dear reader, regardless of the origins of said Tweet the need for funds at Ibrox is indeed a serious matter.

What return on their millions of ‘investment’ has Kingco seen apart from diluted shares in a club/company/ thingy, that has lost nearly £50m since trading began in 2012?
No doubt the audited financials will be in the same ball park as last year, or perhaps worse?
Someone leaked last year’s interims showing a healthy 6 months profit which encouraged the SFA to waive through their UEFA licence but when the annual audited numbers came out it made the 6 months interims look very silly.
No leak this year, why? Are the interims submitted once again showing a healthy profit that even those fine chaps at the SFA have some questions about or will last year’s farce be repeated when the full year’s results are bleeding the usual red?
It would seem that the ‘Serious Professional’ has encountered several decision points recently: should he resign?
– no agreement reached to change the Ibrox PR strategy
– receiving an obvious slap down with this latest ‘PR expert’ appointment
– being humiliated as an SPFL Board member.
Perhaps he is actually the worst occupant of the Blue Room?
Uniquely, he seems to be painfully aware of the mistakes being made, but he’s still there.
Guilt by association and/or just weak?
Either way it’s not a good look for a ‘Serious Professional’.
No worries for their fans Phil, they have run a poll resulting in 85% of voters in favour of a Rangers or Hearts legal bid resulting in Scottish Clubs being banned from Europe next year by UEFA.
Really aimed at Celtic and their CL spot, but happy to sink with that ship even if it costs them a Europa place apparently.
