When I saw this award-winning exclusive in the Daily Radar yesterday, I decided to check it out.

Just to be helpful I tried to see if there was a backstory to this amazing scoop.
Fortunately, I had a source that is in a position to know.
Here is his response to the Record story:
“They’re only skimming the top and reseeding. Not a big spend. Cosmetic.”
I thanked him and then asked about drainage work given the undoubted problems with the playing surface at the stadium John Brown played for.
His reply was, as it were, on the money:
“Skimming wouldn’t touch the existing drains. The reason they are doing this is that they hadn’t the money to keep it right this year. The cost would be only £100k/125k tops.”
So, another day another Daily Radar globule of hopeful pish for the Ibrox klanbase.
Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose…

On a more serious point, I trust that these workers will observe social distancing and be provided with the appropriate PPE.
Moreover, in the midst of a pandemic, is this work absolutely necessary?
Serious point.
Please stay safe.

The Sports Direct bill slowly wending its way to Ibrox. It certainly is going slowly, so much so that it seems to me to be in reverse. I have the feeling that it has met the coronavirus on its way past the moon.
I think the King Edwards are coming along nicely. Every little helps you know. HH
I’m sure that is Andy Sugden driving one of those tractors . Well the pitch does look like a farmers field .
Can Zombies get Coronavirus?
Besides. they’ve had Combat19 for years!
Law unto themselves – utterly repugnant!
Decision today from clubs on declaring league void be interesting to see what the vote is. Any thoughts out there Sevco and Hearts wonder how the others will vote.
its the state of the faded seats in the background that tells you all you want to know
Phil,
the rules on current working are clear explicit – you can go to work if you cannot do the work at home. I doubt their partners would be allow that dung pile to worked on at home.
Guidance is here
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/full-guidance-on-staying-at-home-and-away-from-others/full-guidance-on-staying-at-home-and-away-from-others#going-to-work
It is only some media who have bolted on the untrue ‘essential’ in front of ‘work’
br,
Allan
Ah…! Now I get it.
The Ibrox pitch being ripped up: TRFC is simply rehashing an initiative seeded during an historical crisis.
They’re now ‘Digging For Victory’ down Govan way.
(Because, erm, their p!sh team is unable to ‘Play For Victory’.)
🙂
I thought the rules are if the government is paying your wages as in rangers case they can’t do any work this money is only paid to stay at home people this looks like a scam and it is non essential work
If they are being furloughed they can’t even work from home.
I was only kidding the other day when I suggested that Rangers buy Hagi for £4.5m then immediately sell him on for £9m to a 3rd party….who turns up? None less than Real Madrid whose President has spoken to the player, Zidane wants him and Gerrard could use the money to refresh his squad, according to the Scottish Sun.
Note, Hagi wasn’t even a regular starter for Genk.
Refresh his squad, really? What about the deferred wages, the shortfall in ST update, the installment fees due to other clubs for players brought in and the Sports Direct bill slowly wending its way to Ibrox.
With the transfer window in June likely to be put back or cancelled no club will be able to rely on punting players to bring in much needed income.
Of course the presumption is that the contract between Genk and Rangers is water tight and all the power is with the latter according to the Scottish media.
As ever they quickly forget some of the contracts that put them in a position where hand to mouth loans from the board and others are keeping the lights on.
To achieve this sleight of hand Rangers must have a document from Genk, signed by Hagi, agreeing that on payment of the £4.5m then the player is their’s to do with what they will.
No doubt Rangers ‘legal team’ are all over this and will be crossing the T’s and dotting the I’s at this very moment.
The Klan have that option to buy Hudgie but he is still contracted to Genk he is their player. All they have to say to sevco is he is their player and not for sale . Not that they have the cash to buy him . Unless it’s 2 ginger bottles and a penny carmel .
Bit presumptuous, surely those tatties won’t be ready to give them something to lift until the end of the season?
If gardeners are still allowed to go to work that would explain why McCoist is still on the radio
2 guys and 2 forks to rip up a football pitch? Maybe they painted the all the heavy machinery green but I just can’t see it……
So deep down they know where the title is headed this Season and someone has told them to go ahead and do this as it’s a non starter for some time. Pity someone doesn’t have a wee photo as it would scupper a few PR exercises with oor Keith.
HH and Keep Safe.
You’re absolutely correct that this is non essential work being carried out. There is absolutely nothing to say otherwise, we have just condemned our health advisor to the government and effectively sacked her for going to a second home. There are numerous police on the streets enforcing social distances laws, double standards.
