In June 2012 the creditors of Rangers FC decided that the Ibrox outfit was null and void.
It was over.

Charles of Normandy and the Gallant Profiteers saw an opportunity.

There was money to be made in the first stage of grief.
Since then they have made millions from the denial of the Ibrox klanbase.
By the time that the first emergency loan required in February 2014 million had been disappeared in the Sevco Triangle.
It is worth remembering that Charlie and the boys had been assured by the chaps at Hampden that their new club would play in the topflight.
Unfortunately, those pesky rules kinda got in the way.
Neil Doncaster, then chief executive of the Scottish Premier League (SPL), stated that “there is no mechanism for what we are trying to achieve”.
Allow me to translate for you dear reader:
“We are making this up as we go along to achieve a financially advantageous outcome”.
Thankfully the fans of the remaining SPL clubs were having none of it.
He NO To NewCo campaign was a victory for fan power and the Fifth Estate.
I was happy to play my part.
Then Plan B was for Sevco Scotland Limited to start in the second tier.
However, Mr Regan didn’t count on the late great Turnbull Hutton on the steps of Hampden.

Because of his courage and leadership, the new club started at the bottom.
When the Off Licence Putsch ushered in the current regime and Mr King knew that the Ibrox klanbase very well.
Before the hostile takeover, Dave proved that he could push their dignified buttons.
The idea of Celtic winning Ten In A Row haunted their nightmares.

Now they see an opportunity to derail Nine In A Row for Celtic.
Sevco failed on the field of play, so they’re now prepared to use a global pandemic to scrub a league campaign where they were simply the second best.
I doubt that I will ever understand this “Unsurpassed Dignity” thing…

Why not make the condensed season 33 games. Everyone has played each opponent thrice. Celtic as it stands would have had TWO AWAY games against the other top six teams. sevco TWO HOME games. Obviously an unfair advantage for TIMMY. It would shut budgie at huns lite up also.
The bookies will decide the winners based on paying out bets. Cause they run it.
If it skins them on a club or they have to pay back bets on a null and void, the SPFL is f*cked with bookies legal challenges and dropped sponsorship.
They lowered the odds on a Celtic victory. That suits them.
And…. Dermott runs the bookies.
One word whiiiiiiiit,
UEFA will hopefully provide leadership for all their member leagues on Tuesday after the conference calls to all their national bodies.
The solution has to be one that fits all and is applied across all leagues.
That way no one can complain about unfairness.
Cracking PR appointment by Rangers to replace the Fat Controller.
Unless Traynor passes on his black book I doubt if his replacement will be able to bend TMSM to his beck and call.
You think not???
Folks, the powers that be appear to have their knickers in a twist over what to do re the end of the season, champs, relegation etc. it seems to me that no matter what decision they make, it will not please everyone and the (I’ll)legalities are endless. Here is an idea. It needs work but I’m sure that the clever folks at Hampden can figure out the details.
We have certain teams and fans bitching about the season not being fullfilled as they haven’t played 38 games. Some of their bitches are understandable. There is not enough to time in a season to play the remainder of this seasons games as well as a full league next season.
How bout next seasons games are worth 3 points for next season AND this season. A super points game. The fixture list could continue from this seasons cancellations. i.e.Celtic play the Ibrox club at Ibrox followed by St Johnstone and then Hibs. The split would be decided and the next normal game in the season against a split team would be a super points game with points for this season and next season.
Home and away would be an issue but nothing that can’t be solved by our clever administrators. Relegation would be suspended for a year with 14 teams playing 13 games X 3, only 1 more than normal. The semis of the SC would be played quickly at the beginning of the season at Hampden and Murrayfield on a Wednesday night with the final on a Saturday.
Europe qualification would be by the league positions now.
It’s not perfect but we live in strange days.
I really like the first part of your idea. The second part can easily be played with the same number of games. Even a split. I’ve advocated a 14 team top flight for years.
Here’s how it works. One round of home and away games =26 games. Followed by the split. The two groups of seven play each other home and away =12 games. 38 in total.
A major advantage over the present set up is that post split NO ONE will be faced with having to play ANYONE three times away from home thus avoiding the absurd situation that Celtic will/could have faced this season.
The scramble for top seven places would be intense. Anyone getting in would be GUARANTEED two home games against Celtic AND Sevco.
I honestly can’t see a downside for anyone.
The last refuge of scoundrels at Ibrox. They’d try anything to scupper Celts deserved title. Very much like another desperado at West Ham. A club also on a downward spiral and attempting to block Liverpool’s rightful championship success. Pathetic.
I would like to think to a man, women and child all Celtic Supporters would like to see the season played out because you and I know that all we’d hear would be 9 in a row was not earned’ (A tainted title) ironic I know coming from the r*angers support. Yep they don’t get the tainted titles but when it’s aimed at them. Let’s hope the team come back refreshed, fit and ready for the final onslaught when it happens and our world famous support get right behind them man ,women and child to help get them over the line to 9. No excuses, HH
See if celtic dont get this title then they should go after the sfa..spfl for a warding newco sevco 54 titles belonging to oldco cheating ranjurs plus they used ebt sideletters for over 25 years cheating ever club in the spfl and they are shouting about integrity only that club can come out way that shower of sad losers newco sevco have never won a title since they got into the spfl and yet they have 54 titles only in scotland masons freemasons can work that out..most sucessful cheating football club ever rfc 1872 liquidated 2012 there cva was refused means everything goes..corrupt to the core for 1 club sevco sfa..spfl are a disgrace.
If it is at all possible to play the remaining fixtures, play them. I’d love to stand there, watching their big, red ba’faces explode with rage as they get beat twice by their champions, and squander their game in hand!
The saying, “be careful what you wish for” couldn’t be more appropriate in their case. I’d imagine that, if they get their wish to null and void season 2019-20, then the proposal to sue Hummel for the money they are accused of withholding would also be null and void, as the season never happened, therefore Hummel never got footballing exposure for their kit, and sponsorship. Maybe they are also hoping that it would null and void the Close Bros -ahem!! – “overdraft”, and the legal case that Mike Ashley has already won.
How does that song go again?..
NO WHEELS ON MA WAGGON,
AND WE’RE NOT ROLLIN’ ALONG…
OH, THEM PESKY INJUNS!!
Unfortunately, there is no fair solution to this situation other than fulfilling the remaining fixtures.
The desperation of the moron, is to raise sporting integrity, what’s that in Scotia. Other Sports decide the winner or the champion if the majority of the round/season are played, even UEFA have previously awarded a title to the team of an uncompleted league season due to war intervention. Methinks Liverpool will be awarded the Premiership, ergo Celtic.
As for television money will BT or Sky pay for something that has not happened, no Celtic Rangers matches, doubt it. It must be squeaky bum time at the House of Cards
Spot on 👆🏼
Re: cancelling of the season.
If things go the way as expected it is unlikely the Scottish Leagues or, indeed, the English ones will return before summer. The divisions should be wound up as they stand. Financial ramifications of null and void [as if the season had never happened] could financially cripple some clubs—not least the fact that season ticket holders would be deserving of their money back and then the possible financial demands from the media.
As it is, Celtic have a non-win rate as low as 15% from a season 80% complete while their nearest rival, having a much higher non-win rate of 30%, are 15 points behind and are and required to win every game. Celtic reqjuire only two wins to mathematically win the league so, if fairness means anything anymore in football then Celtic should be recognised as Champions 2019-20. We all know how this would go down if ‘The Rangers’ were in the lead at this point.
With the leaders of two of the other divisions in a similar position, they too should be acknowledged as Champions – I recognize that League 1 would be the most difficult to sort as it is so close at this point.
As for the relegation areas it would be unfair for teams to go down when they may possibly have survived. I think the Premier Division should be increased to 14 teams playing each other three times û mo-one would then need to drop down a division.. If not, there should be one-off playoffs behind closed doors (if still necessary) at neutral venues. This could be done in summer or as close to the new season as possible. Bottom of the upper division should play second top of the division below and top of lower division should play second bottom of division above. If the team coming up cannot beat the team set to go down maybe they shouldn’t be coming up anyway. This at least would put promotion and relegation squarely in their own hands. Aye, there will be collateral damage, but I feel this would help to limit that.
In a league that is 80% complete, Null and Void would be a cowardly decision and is simply not acceptable. I believe, and someone can correct me, that there is nothing in the rules to say that ALL games must be completed.
At the top end of the leagues, the three Scottish Cup games could be played over a week before the new season starts.
I suspect anyone suggesting that we accept a null and void scenario after 30 games of a season, has not been one of the thousands who have shivered their way through the long dark winter; cheering an injury time winner against Hamilton at Celtic Park or traipsing up to Dingwall at stupid o’clock to follow the Bhoys! Following the team, any team, represents a large investment of time and money – and applies to all supporters. To void the league is to steal that time and money from all fans. There must be a result.
I see that Barry “Fudd” Ferguson would be uncomfortable handing the title to Celtic as “It’s still mathematically possible for Ran*ers to win the title”. I wonder if he had to take his shoes and socks off to work that one out !
Hail and Hail again !
TBF making the season Null and Void would be the sensible thing to do. Share the prize money equally between all member clubs and increase the league to 14 for next season ( if that can even go ahead )
Celtic will win the league next season anyway, due to financial advantage ( Sevco will be gone by then anyway ,hopefully ).
The only down side is Celtic will have to wait another season to claim 10inarow. But seriously would that make such a big difference?
Making Celtic champions won’t go down well ( and I would imagine Celtic would feel the same, should Sevco be in Celtic’s position )
Hearts can’t be relegated when there is still enough points available to save them, so by increasing the league, the top two in the Championship would also not be inconvenienced.
There is also the problem of teams staying in the top six or dropping to the bottom six ( If Hibs had lost to St J they would drop down to the bottom six, for example )
The problems also arise with the teams below the top two in the Championship, as they will feel they have a chance to gain promotion.
These are unprecedented times and there is no easy solution, only the least problematic one.
I still maintain they jumped the gun in stopping the games, but we are where we are.
James Thomas – I’m assuming this is satire?
James, What you are saying is not feasible as UEFA will not except this, who would be in the Champions League and the Europa League someone has got to be the champions of Scotland and some teams will have to play in the Europa league. UEFA will over rule if the SFA OR THE league make it null and void. Remember the SFA are members of UEFA .
Null and void….seriously? That would not be fair at all and the cry would be, its not nine in a row if you missed a year out.
Don’t see why, Sevco are claiming titles after they died!
Love how they’re clambering for the season to be declared null and void but want the money shared between the teams. If the season is null and void there is no money, TV companies and sponsors wont pay for something that never happened.
Clamouring
What you said.
I’d like to congratulate Sevco who, at long last, have lived up to their Anyone/Everyone campaign…by announcing a new dynamic appointment.
Their new Head of Communications comes from an extremely balanced background and will bring a refreshing middle of the road approach to his duties…of that I have no doubt.
I have been told, however, that his background is strongly linked to the Orange Order and a secret Protestant organisation,
which, if true, would severely impact on the Anyone/Everyone campaign, so I am discounting this information as it would clearly undermine the aforementioned campaign.
Sevco have made some disastrous choices over the years…but I’m confident that even they wouldn’t be that stupid…
Would they ??
Sound bites and everyone knows it. Well said.
