Another day in court for Litigation FC

I suppose we shouldn’t be surprised that the new year isn’t that old and Sevco is back in court already.

Once more they are facing up to General Ashley’s legal A team.

Given the strength of the case being presented by Sports Direct and the potential size of the bill, the only option open to the other side is to play for time.

The rational members of the Sevco High Command have been imploring the Convict Chairman to sue for peace.

For the avoidance of doubt, this entire shambles is the brainchild of Mr David Cunningham King.

If this is NOT settled today, then the clock is ticking on the small matter of what kit Sevco will wear next season.

Judge Lionel Persey presiding has already ruled that year three of the Elite/Hummel deal is out.

As in aint happening.

Only last week, the anti-King faction in the Blue Room was attempting to reach out to General Ashley.

However, he wasn’t minded to respond.

Quite frankly, Big |Mike is looking to bury King and that has been his long game since the Off License Putsch of March 2015.

Amazingly, the Cold Shouldered One still doesn’t seem to get it.

Last week I learned that he had instructed Sevco to instruct a rather junior solicitor to look for a loophole in the 2017  contract with Sports Direct.

I’m told that this exercise cost the Engine Room Subsidiary between £25k-£35k.

It was money down the drain.

Sports Direct has the elite of contract lawyers.

So, there are NO loopholes.

Developing story…

  1. It doesn’t really matter if Sevco do this, that or the other in court, as long as it’s deferred until they win the league is all that matters- how on earth have they gotten away with it for so long?

    • Absolutely right. Has anyone thought of the potential scenario whereby Big Mike comes to ‘ahem’ an out of court settlement because, god forbid, they do win the league and he can cash in on a shedload of 55/stopped the 9 crud that will be made available for sale? What I’ve marvelled at throughout all this is the way Big Mike has been cast as a hero – because of who he is up against. Big Mike ain’t no saint and is after the money. The Rangers in administration would be worth less than The Rangers who have a league title (no how much cash has been burned to get to that point).

This is now a zero sum game for Celtic because the rip-roaring successes of the last few years will be forever diminished if the league is not won this year.

  2. King has already stated he will stay on in some capacity to fight Big Mike and his litigation. Hopefully this is true, the man is toxic and others in the blue room must want rid of him. It’s like a merry go round and it only stops at liquidation. Frightening for Huns , funny for everyone else.

  3. Out of the kindness of my heart, I am sending Mr King a family-sized box of Kellogg’s Cheerios. I’m sure he’ll find lots of loopholes in there!

  4. Sevco have requested the injunction is relaxed allowing them to deal with Elite. Persey says It’s a knotty problem (hinting at naughty?), ruling at unstated future date.

Can effectively kicked down road. But more legal fees being racked up.

The outcome of the court case will not be decided today, the can will be kicked down the road once again which is the norm with anything involving The Honest Cold Shouldered Chairman, a lot of people including myself are hoping for Administration to happen following the outcome of the court case today but in reality there is no chance of this happening, Sevco will not go into Administration whilst this is their best chance of stopping Celtic to 9 in a row, if that happened their titles hopes would be immediately over, They will continue to trade insolvent, sign players they cannot afford and have no kit deal in place for next season if it means stopping Celtic at 9 in a row which they are hell-bent on doing even if the consequences for the club formed in 2012 prove to be fatal.

      • Phil….Would His Lordship be swayed by “agreeing privately” to delay…until the Lying King has departed the scene.
Otherwise….why would he entertain such a ” frivolous ” request..?
        Strange indeed.

        • I can think of a scenario where Big Mike ends up taking control of the club.

DCK donates his shares to the club and walks.

The club then pay off the bill to Ashley by signing the shares over to him. The club DCK claims to love is then in the hands of someone with very deep pockets

This would not be a scenario Celtic fans would wish for but would probably delight the orcs.

It’s unlikely though. It would involve King taking the financial hit and we know his aversion to that kind of thing. OPM and all that.

  6. Thanks Phil as always…

Seems like the Sevco are always deferring…

Staged payments are likely for the bill from Ashley, however, Not sure of the Elite/Hummel bill that will follow.

Will this sink them once and for all.?

Also note that the sale Morelos hasn’t been mention or touted by the press, but Eduard has!!!!

Keep up the excellent work Phil

  7. They bring it all upon themselves.

They like to blame others but the simple truth is killing off your club using unlawful EBTs, avoiding your legal taxes, not paying 240 creditors owed £180m or so, is all your own fault.

Spending money you don’t have etc….. trying to buy success on tick….. is your own fault.

Trying to swindle Ashley and not getting away with it is your own fault. Don’t blame anyone else. It’s your own stupidity.
