A decade ago Celtic were on top of the league.
However, the manager Gordon Strachan asked for reinforcements and identified Steven Fletcher of Hibernian as the player he needed to bolster the attack.

In the end, the frontman didn’t get the move he wanted to Parkhead and Celtic would go on to lose the league title to Rangers (1872-2012).
At the time Peter Lawwell said the reason for the inaction in the January transfer window was because “no one wanted our money”.

That didn’t wash with many Celtic supporters at the time.
Since Rangers died in 2012 Celtic have been without city rivals.
That almost certainly changed today.
The League Cup Final victory at the start of the month was a testament to great goalkeeping and dogged defending.
Mr Gerrard’s men had a point to prove today.
Moreover, it would be crass to ignore the fact that Sevco have laid down a marker for the second half of the season.
They will go into the winter break believing that they can now power on and win the title.
In both matches against Sevco in December Celtic have been outplayed.
Consequently, it would take weapons-grade hubris for anyone in the Parkhead boardroom to ignore that reality.
Off the field, the situation between the two clubs is night and day.
Celtic has the financial muscle to significantly strengthen the playing squad in January if the manager Neil Lennon thinks that is required.

After today I’m sure that he does.

Interesting piece for you Phil. Have a look into how much Mr Desmond has taken out of celtic since he bought wee Fergus shares. Those preference share divi must have done very well. Celtic over the past ten years have been a massive dripping roast for Desmond and Lawwell. I think the success free ride gravy train is coming to end for that pair. They have taken all the glory and the money in a one horse race. A rookie manager and a journeyman squad has bested us twice in a month( I know we won one of those games). This ride is about to get very bumpy for that pair. Silence won’t cut it if they manage to mess this up. I would hate for NL to be their fall guy at the end of this. I don’t question NL credentials as a honest Celtic man. He has taken more than he should ever have taken in the ugly wee country that scotland can be.
I’m now praying Rangers sell Morelos in Jan don’t care if it saves them he needs to go or else we’re in serious trouble because he can’t stop scoring and winning them games
First of all a very happy new year to you Phil and a BIG thanks for all your work in the past year.
Second, I have been telling all who want to listen for years that James Forrest is just a poor player,
an average player who gets goals against lower opposition watch his “runs” towards a player its always the same
sprint towards him slam the brakes on and do nothing, passing awful, big games “missing”. Johnston is not even
close to being a top player yet, he may turn out to be one but he is not yet. So in effect start with two players down.
The manager is tactically hopeless. These to me are observations that are so obvious. If we lose to them this season
it will fall hard on the shoulders of Peter and Neil end of. By the way they are nothing but hard working seasoned pros.
We should be doing MUCH better.
I don’t think a single Sevco player would displace his equivalent on the Celtic team. Ergo this is not about talent or buying “better players”. I support Neil Lennon, but this one is on him. He has to figure out the tactics and the mentality the team needs to really pump Sevco in the manner they deserve. We have another half of the season, let’s kick on…
I’m certain there is more than enough board room hubris at Celtic to ensure absolutely no money is spent in January…
As for the game…. we have the better players but our manager was outsmarted by a novice.
He should be seriously embarrassed.
If thoughts of a trip to the sunshine of the Middle East draws focus from the job in hand then how about just cancelling and swapping for a bit of January Clyde coast sand dune training…? Already pampered players being paid in a week more than many earn in a year do not need even more pampering.
I’m pretty certain it might sort out the men from the boys and identify those who know what it means to be in a battle.
Dubai? The Lisbon Lions did OK by just visiting Seamill for a few days. Rolled the trousers up a few inches and paddled in the water.
They seldom ever got injured, even when playing against carthorses on virtually ploughed fields that were only protected from frost by bales of hay.
We are clogged up with players like Elonoussi,El Hamed,Koassi,Shved,Sinclair, plus many more not contributing thru injury or out of favour.
Big clearout required.
Big Eddie’s goal is getting ( surprise surprise ) a ton of comment on its ” legitimacy.”
Well first of all….To those who say that VAR would have ruled it out…I say this.
If my Auntie Mary had balls…she’d be my Uncle Fred.
Fortunately she doesn’t have balls…and Scottish football doesn’t have Var…So that ends that argument.
( Could someone find Kris Boyd a brain from somewhere…he really is an arse)
I’d also like to say that when I started playing competitive football in the 1950’s there was an incident in a game where I whipped in a cross and it hit the full back’s hand …I claimed for a penalty and the Ref. in waving my claim away said…
“The baw played him son.”…and that was an acceptable decision and phrase that everyone understood.
To clarify….If he had stuck out his hand to stop the ball from reaching its intended target…or changing its direction…then its a penalty.
As it was…he intended neither…the ball hit him on the hand and there was nowt he could do about it…So end of.
Why is everything so complicated today ?
Oh and I see that Sevco are desperate for VAR to be introduced into Scotland.
That would be the biggest mistake they ever made.
So bring it on.
Bang on. But they would then claim some other excuse when VAR found against them.
Couple of wee points, questions I’d like to ask any sevconians who visit this site.
If the shot had hit a defender on the arm and deflected straight into the keeper’s arms, would you have been happy to see Celtic get a penalty?
When Frimpong pulled back More-or-less in the LC Final, he was shown a straight red. The sevco defender did his level best to completely undress Julien but was only shown a yellow. WHY? If he’d tried to rip someone’s clothes off like that in the street it would have been classed as sexual assault.
VAR? Gerrard really should be very careful what he wishes for. From my own point of view? Fuckin bring it on. It will cost sevco a LOT more than it costs us!! That is of course if we can get an outside of Scotland adjudicator. If it’s an SFA lackey we could see some very creative interpretations of the rules. Generally in sevco’s favour.
Have you noticed Charger…that once again its the support who highlight the injustices but never a word from our Board?
I used to get really pissed off with the Board for their lack of interest in certain matters…But now…?
I’ve come to realise that they have no intention of rocking the boat on anything.
Someone must have some really explosive footage…!!!
Or maybe a 5 way agreement ?
We deserve all we get with this mob in charge.
Maybe it’s Celtic fans who should be careful what they wish for. VAR works by having someone watch a reply of ‘controversial incidents’ he then decides what’s what……Would you care to take a guess at which team the VAR supervisor in Scotland would be likely to support!?!?
He’ll cut a very lonely figure if the VAR operator is a Tim, then!! The masons at hampden will be sure to black all the poor guy before his first ever game!!
As I said. I think it would only work in Scotland with foreign Adjudicators for Celtic and Sevco games.
Celtic looked hopelessly out of sorts. Sevco looked right up for it. I thought half time came at the wrong time for us and the right time for them. We lost the momentum we had started to build. We have been pretty lost for a few weeks now and the winter break is badly needed. It will be interesting to see if Elyounoussi recovers his sharpness as I felt he brought a lot to the team. We desperately need to sort out our ideas though. I sat and watched for 80 minutes of the beast giving it to Tavernier who launched it up to Morelos/Aribo to knock on to Aribo/Morelos. Nobody in the Celtic team spotted that this was 90% of their game plan and took steps to stamp it out. Pretty dispiriting.
Martin
I`ve been saying that for a long time. How many goals did Miller get with these tactics?
They have been doing this since Walter Smith`s reign, even got to a European final, and nobody at Celtic ever seemed to twig.
I wouldn`t be surprised, and don`t laugh, if they get further in the Europa League than Celtic, although that would hardly be a great feat now.
Let`s hope they never meet there. It`s bad enough being embarrassed in front of a parochial audience without it being available to the whole of creation.
Here’s a couple of quotes from NFL in the aftermath of yesterday’s fiasco.
Celtic need to play “psychologically better” in derby matches, says manager Neil Lennon, after their 2-1 Scottish Premiership home defeat by Rangers.
“There’s a little bit of inexperience, but psychologically we need to play these games better,” said Lennon.
He also said,
Lennon said afterwards: “We’re just off the back of winning 11 or 12 games in a row so it’s not the mentality that worried me today. It was the lack of physicality and being a little stand offish.”
This guy should not be going to Dubai he should be going Bye Bye and if PL has any concept of self preservation he’ll make that call smartly.
So according to those quotes from Lennon what we need is some sort of Freudian scholar to work on the players and everything will be just dandy. Problem solved.
Taxi for Lennon.
No we need the players to man the fuck up.
Agree. NFL must be able to fire up the players for this fixture. He had it himself. Too many lightweights who were easily pushed off the ball. Sevco were better than all our players except maybe three. Frimpong was good, except at the essential delivery at the end of his runs. He must have been training with Forrest.
NO Celtic player should EVER need fired up for that fixture! If they do, get them out the door! They’re at the wrong club.
What is required is a new manager.
ie one without an over inflated ego.
Any football coach who thinks Efe Ambrose is a player is in the wrong profession.
Congratulations to Celtic Director Brian Wilson on his New Years honour of a CBE.
I sincerely hope he sends it back.
No, he knew it was coming. They get in touch before they make it official. Saves any embarrassment.
What has happened to the high pressing game from earlier in the season lets face it the form during the last few weeks has been pretty average but we thought the team would have been really up for this game half the team didn’t turn up.
The 2nd half of the season must see a big improvement and NL and PL will have to realise that the rangers played like men today whilst half of our team looked like lost wee boys,we will have to man up or it won’t be 9in a row never mind 10.
We High Pressed for the first 15 minutes. It was good to see. McGregor did not know how to put the ball into play.
Sevco could not High Press us due to our strike threat Edsonne Eduard. When we play a kid up front they high press us.
Both our Wings were snuffed out with a kid on each side. For the first 30 mins, Johnson kept passing back instead of making a run. Then he simply lost the ball to them.
We need competent experienced loanee players in Jan to win the season. We do not need whizz bang kids that can be developed. We need experienced winners. Seasoned journeymen to end of season, no more kids picked in any game.
Davis on the post clears a certain goal at a corner. No-one on the post when rangers score. Why oh why does this happen? I see it happen every week in football. A man on the post is essential at every corner.
Neil Lennon tells us he phones Brendan Rodgers before big games. He needs to stop that.
I’m presuming Rodgers phones his very best friend in the whole world, Steven Gerrard, and relays Lennon’s plans. Rodgers and Gerrard and kids go on holidays together.
I thought Clancy made big brave and correct decisions and had a good game.
Francis
Was the corner for Sevco’s second goal a corner ?
Should Morelos have been booked for diving in the first half and second half never mind the tackles
If you think Kevin Clancy had a good game , I’m an Astronaut…seriously!!
Not only was it NOT a corner, the corner that it came from wasn’t a corner either!!
The Celtic Board is not interested in helping the team…. the manager can’t ….
No excuse, beaten on the day by players hungry for success.
Turned over; all over the park.
Luck wins cups.
Determination wins League games.
It’s going to be tight, but can someone answers this question at Celtic Park or on this forum . Why are players out of form playing in these games. We have plenty players who can fill the void. At present.
3 players required right through the spine of the team.
CB, CM and CF to guarantee the league and Cup in the coming months ahead
On a lighter note Has the Columbia Crackpot blown his transfer chances with his latest escapades.
Someone has tabled a 11 million bid for him South of the Border.
That might well be about his worth, but not sitting in the stand every other week.
PS It’s time to spend wisely and offload the bench warmers.
Johnson proved again today he doesn’t have the oomph needed to limp off shouting “I’m done” came 45 minutes to late for him.
Christie was rank as was Forrest.
Ntcham not playing??? Wtf same with Hayes in front of Boli.
PL get yir fuckin finger oot and support our team or fuck off.
Depressing match.
Today was a game for McGinn.
PL admit the error go get him as we now also have Christie.I we lose the 9 then late efforts wont matter.
Hopefully the celtic Board deliver!
Fractured ankle.Aye very good pal.
NOT a time for knee-jerk reactions. Everyone needs to just calm down and look at things dispassionately.
When we play in Europe we get results against teams with more financial resources than us by getting right in their faces. Disrupting their movement. Closing them down and not giving them time to pick a pass. Forcing errors.
Today and in the LC final sevco did that to us.
For the last eight years domestically, we’ve been the big boy in the playground. We’ve out-muscled everyone. Financially and otherwise.
Mistakes and penny-pinching in the transfer market have hurt us in Europe, both on the field and as a direct result of that, financially. Domestically, these poor decisions have not mattered one iota. Because we were the big boys in the playground.
Well someone has started pushing back and we NEED to work out a way to deal with that.
AND PL NEEDS to get this window right.
He also NEEDS to get the summer window right.
Not just NINE IN A ROW is required, TEN IN A ROW is the bare MINIMUM acceptable to the fans. Failure, in EITHER this campaign or next, will see ST sales half.
Trust me on this one Peter if you read this site, or if anyone who has your ear reads this site, do NOT put the fans to the test on this. You will see tumbleweed blowing down London Road.
As for those wanting rid to get rid of Lenny, get a fuckin grip!!!
A few things troubled me after the game today. My initial reaction was that the players had once again bottled it for the second time this month. The cup final and today’s game were terrible and we didn’t seem to have an answer to it.
Looking at the two games now that the red mist has began to disapate I’m left wondering was there more to it.
Rangers seemed to be able to block off our forward passes at will, our players were running into blind alleys all day and were reduced to hitting long diagonal balls cross field, giving the ball away or making silly decisons. Rangers flooded the midfield to the extent that they won most of the second balls and over run Broony and McGregor.
Our wingers were missing, Forrest to be honest hid and left young Frimpong to constantly stop his runs forward to turn back and look for an alternative pass.
Boli was out of his depth and didn’t seem to know where he was supposed to be playing, he’s a poor player and certainly Hayes or Taylor are better options. Julian looked nervous everytime the ball came near him and Ajer looked unsure of himself also. The team didn’t have a structure or a plan b and were continually getting caught on the ball because they had no pass in front of them.
Gerrard set his team up to stop us playing, get in our faces and put our creative players under pressure. We couldnt string passes together and ended up hitting the ball aimlessly up front to Eduaord who had little support. Gerrard employed the exact same tactics at at Hampden as well.
The worrying thing is that Lennon didn’t make any changes to our shape going into this match, he knew what they would do, how they would set up and waited 70 minutes before making any adjustments.
The manager has been brilliant since he’s came back with the exception of the Cluj CL qualifier he has done little wrong, but the last two matches against Rangers have flagged up glaring tactical issues that Lennon has been unable to counteract, or been unable to change early in the game.
We won the league Cup, on another day we would have lost. Warning signs were there, we knew how Rangers would play today, swamp the midfield, get at our creative players early and disrupt our play cutting off supply to Eduoard, isolating our wingers and pushing the wing backs to defend.
We have a better team than Rangers and better individual players, but that’s the second time this month they have got their tactics spot on against us… that’s worrying.
Say what you like about Brendan Rodgersbut when it wasn’t working or he set up wrong , he very quickly rectified it ..
He didn’t in the corresponding game last season. And we took numerous hammerings under him in Europe because he WOULDN’T change his set-up.
Charger
The majority of BR subs , when needed (tactically) done the business , that point is unarguable
I witnessed many games he switched to diamonds , 3s 4s 2s & 1 up to suit
Perhaps on the games you are thinking of , it was due to a lack of personnel??
Just gutted with Sundays performance, for me the key mistake was tempo or lack of to start.
People are saying the rookie outdone NL as soon as Sevco kicked off what was first thing they done , copy NL kicked the ball diagonally right up to go out off touch a few yards from Celtic’s touchline , a bit of ‘that was a good tactic I’ll use that’ ….
Agree. Except we dont have better players. Davis better player than Brown. The Croatians. and a couple pf others. We really missed Elyanoussi and Elhamed. Gerrard was a world class midfielder – I suspect he knows a player and tactics better than NL.
Charger
Well said , I agree with your season ticket assertion, sadly.
Are you blind.
It’s Lennon who needs to get a grip.
And I have my doubts regarding his eyesight too.
How many seriously important games has he lost since he came back?
I take your point about a pendulum to some extent. The problems have been apparent from the start of the season. Over here in the USA I see all the games. Ajer cannot jump. Cosgrove and Katic have shown this but it is apparent against teams like Hamilton. He has a basic weakness in the air for a man who is 6.4.. Forrest has been off for a month. He was just as bad against St.Mirren, even though he scored. His decision making is rank. Lennon knows this, he is the first name on the board. Christie is a no.10 or nothing. The best predictor of a player missing a penalty penalty is a short run-up. And so it proved. Griffiths is done. Mikey needs the same physical development work as Christie had. Bolingoli was given the freedom of the park because they knew he was useless, and they put an extra player in centre midfield. Though they almost paid for that with his shot. The only thing that surprizes me is the surprize. Victories do not hide these weaknesses. We need a central striker, a left back (again) and the big Israeli right back with Frimpong in front of him. We needed all of this at the start of the season just as much as wee need them now
I agree. Elhamed at RB, Frimpong at RW is my preference too. Taylor may come good at LB, I’m less and less confident in Boli. MJ is a prospect. Yesterday was not a game for prospects.
I agree with every point you made there. Particularly about young Mikey. He’s too lightweight at this stage of his career. We needed more muscle in the midfield.
You could see after 5 to 10 minutes that Lennon would be destroyed today . To think he sat and watched for 70 to 80 minutes before trying to change things is a disgrace. What a lump of wood he really is . The only good thing from today was the £75 million quid striker got his marching orders pardon the pun.
What pun?
“Marching “
Lennon is tactically inept and keeps reaping the same mistakes over and over again .
Today was nothing to do with tactics it came down to application or the lack of it from too many historical match winners.
Front to back we had too many not playing at the level we see regularly and is required for these types of games.
He Manager can chop and change all he wants but what you need is PERFORMANCES.
Simply not good enough today.
A collective issue that will be resolved with rest and time.
Those who have been writing this Ayebrokes outfit off all Season clearly haven’t been watching the League Table and European performances don’t lie.
The manager is part of the collective and played his part in selecting that team and tactics.
It’s worrying that he took 70mins to try to change it.
He also didn’t learn from the last game which is a bigger worry.
Their effectively a point ahead so it’s game on.
We need a good rest, getting our best players fit and in form, recruitment and different thinking from our manager.
Yes, Lawwell missed out on Steven Fletcher…
but did he not ‘splash the cash’, (about 50 quid), on the better value alternative…Willo Flood?! 🙂
The current Celtic squad is more than capable of winning the league, and probably the SC, again.
But you could see ‘early doors’ today, that too many Celtic players hadn’t turned up – just like the LC Final.
So, I don’t understand why Lennon didn’t make personnel changes even at half-time…and I certainly don’t understand why he left the substitutions so late.
Some players had an off day today, some maybe needed to be dropped before now to recharge their batteries, some were perhaps complacent today…?
However, they haven’t become bad players.
(And yes, there are a few duds in the squad – as in most squads.)
Lennon now has the second half of the league programme to really earn his manager’s salary – and prove us doubters wrong.
No wonder the BENNY’S won today the exact same set up as the cup final Lennon is a dud. Being overdone and blitzed by a rookie is schocking but please dont cry about FFP or any of that Turkish Delight . Sold out today and everyone of you lot are buying into the big fix CLOWNS . You can laugh all you want at the BENNY’S and the blogs that push their shite out there but they are the ones laughing tonight. Meanwhile Lenny and the players and the fans are away home with a sore arse. 9 in row came to a halt today . The KLAN will go on to win the league to many glory hunters in the celtic team . French eddie should have took the penalty. I said to my brother before it that Christie would miss . As for Forrest a think that’s where he was playing today totally DUFF . Infact we played with a man down with this chancer . Remember no crying when the BENNY’S win the title you all contributed to it by showing up today and approving to LIEWELL and that duffer 50 DD .Dont shoot the messenger.
That bennys patter is honking mate
That bennys patter is honking
Mate can you please for everyone’s sake stop this rotten BENNYS stuff. It’s painful
It’s a psuedonyim, his real name is FUDMISSILE
Wit does it mean .
I didn’t think Christie looked confident either. Contrary to commentator pronouncements, I didn’t think it was a wonderful save. I thought it was a shite penalty.
Totally agree.
Christie looked out of sorts before the penalty, (and after).
And the wife wasn’t impressed at my screaming at the TV for Eddy to take the penalty…
Maybe your wife is related to mine. I was getting that kind of response as well. The comments from her quickly escalated from a quiet, gentle, “They can’t hear you dear.” to a shouted, “That language is APPALLING!!”
That Benny’s stuff is doing my head in. Rap it.
The Rookie Manager has the better of Neil Lennon. This result has been coming for a lot longer than just this season.
Shape up or Ship out, Lenny.
Spot on!
Lennon thought the cup final performance was a lack of Eddy combined with playing with 10 men. It was however , down to being outnumbered in midfield and that misjudgement was repeated again today. I’m sure we will strengthen the squad but Lennon needs more tactical flexibility. The rookie Gerrard has the measure of his system and a repeat of same irrespective of new personnel may be fatal
We he never lost that game in Midfield today stop talking mince.
We had the bulk of possession but failed to turn it into attack due to the lack of movement and out ball up front.
Édouard,Christie and Forrest were useless today.
I would exempt big Eddie from that assessment. Every time he got near the ball he had three or four sevconians on him like flies round a shite. Theoretically that SHOULD have meant that we had men in free space. But NO ONE SHOWED for him. A guy who can draw that many defenders to him should be gold dust in any team. The major word there being TEAM. Someone has to make use of the spaces he’s creating. DON’T leave him isolated.
Christie was as poor as I’ve seen him for a long time. Forrest hasn’t been firing on all cylinders for a while now but yesterday he waa worse than a man short.
Baffling team selections. Baffling substitutions. Poor tactically,,, Lennon is simply not good enough, he’s a fifth rate manager and only the most narrow minded would deny the gerrard is far superior to the dud we have in the dugout. Then, and then, Lennon has the audacity and sheer brass neck to claim that the players need to be mentally stronger in these games…the same players, or the majority of, who have won a treble treble and hammered the scumdog millionaires on multiple occasions. Please NFL leave ASP you’re just not up to the job!
Sad but very True
Are you suggesting that the previous 2angers sides were as good as the current squad?
You might want to go review their Season by comparison to the last 3.
They are a much improved side who have not only proven themselves in our Domestic League but also in Europe.
There was nothing wrong with the tactics today but plenty wrong with the application from too many of those who have been delivering said success.
Success by the way that also includes us being top of the League,League Cup Winners and currently waiting for a round of 32 tie in theEuropa after winning our Group.
You online Stein’s obviously know better though.
Aye. It’s amazing how quick many “Faithful through and through” supporters jump on the duff Lenny or the dud over the hill Broony bandwagon at the first reversal. There’s a sense of entitlement creeping into many sections of the Celtic support that is seriously unattractive. We do NOT have a God given right to win every game.
Some of these guys should have lived through the Pre-Stein era in the early sixties. It was WORSE than the cheating years.
I don’t care if they’re ‘better’ or not, Lennon has a better squad of players and he simply can’t get the best out of them…simply put, Lennon’s out of his depth and as far as performances on the park go…the buck stops at him! and also to repeat something that happened earlier in the season in the game at Motherwell, Lennon’s tactics that day were to play the long ball game but as soon as Motherwell took the lead, Celtic, lead by Broonie, decided to abandon the managers style and revert to playing the ball on the deck…they both, Lennon and Brown, had a fall-out over that. Also, just to add, Bolingoli is not just a waste of the 3 million we spent on him he’s a waste of the price of a Celtic replica kit….and yet Lennon consistently picks him….why!?!
Surprise, surprise it’s Peter Lawwell’s fault, never the man from Lurgan. The cup final showed us up as being light in midfield, and with Johnston replacing Ntcham today, the script was writ. We were more in control after the change replacing Johnston, and the ineffectual James Forres. Do we need new players? Every club does, but you have to use your existing resources better
Indeed, polybhoy, but it was Lawwell who gave him the job.
Celtic have a squad three to four times the value of Sevco. Why is the solution for PL to spend spend spend?
Slippy clearly gets his cheaper players doing better than Lennon’s multi millions bhoys.
Sheer desperation forced SEVCO to edge their result. Boyd lied on telly regarding SEVCO controlling the whole game. Celtic controlled it for last half hour after subs on.
It was a six pointer and we slipped up.
If SEVCO win every game to end of season then they win the League. It’s theirs to lose.
Frimpong and Johnston should not be near old firm games. Frimpong flashes and weaves, nothing comes of it. Lustig and Forrest commanded the right wing. Tierney and Sinclair the left. Both wings now have lightweight kids.
Lennon sidelining Sinclair for Johnston is incompetence. Experienced men from the start, not boys for such games. Hays, Ntcham, Bitton,
A deflected goal is all we could produce. Shved was a big goal scorer b4 coming to us. what went wrong under Lennon?
Moreloss value must go down with that showing. 12 out of 12 games v Celtic cannot score. Deliberate dive cheating. Who wants to buy that trouble. There’s no £11m bid it’s night b4 game Jabba spin lies.
PL could buy Lennon Neymar but he’d play johnston instead.
Sinclair should be playing more often Lenny maybe been told not to play him?
It’s ours to lose as well. If we win all our games it’s our title.
Once again they outplayed us., Not sure “endeavour outplayed skill” James, i saw very little skill from Celtic`s players today. Tactics appeared to be to try and play narrow as we moved up the field, shocking if this was tactical as it allowed them to close everything down easily. Some decisions to be taken in Jan` or we can kiss goodbye to 9, never mind 10. They have improved now we need to.
Googybhoy
Yes Phil,IF the board doesn’t entertain and back NFL in this next transfer window, well,I think that’s the time we will see supporters vote not to renew SB’s,that scenario is still way down the line yet.
Nonetheless,ractionary statements will abound‼️
There’s no crisis @Paradise,though the smsm will paint a totally different picture in dmorra’s comics, sorry,I meant ‘NEWS’papers
Thanks Phil🍀
I’m absolutely gutted with today, too many passengers again.
The referee lost control of that game his decisions were bizarre all day , failing to interrupt Gerrard whilst he gives instructions to two player once they reentered the field of play , he blows the restart, K Clancy should not be refereeing top flight games.
Once again endeavour overcomes skill, take nothing away from Sevco they were the better team again , I fancy Parkhead will be as quiet as a graveyard next season , if this keeps up.
Note that their goalkeeper (McGregor) collapsed with ‘cramp’ to facilitate the Gerrard team talk with his players on the touch line.
Never in my life have I seen a goalkeeper go down with cramp in the legs, but then again the older they are, the flyer they become.
Poor day today but maybe it’s a wake-up call to those who think they are invincible. Slippy has the measure of NFL and his one dimensional tactics and the sevco players were hungrier than the bhoys.
Take stock for what is required in the transfer window because some of our players can’t cut the mustard when true grit is needed. HH
KTF
NFL states on post match interview that all that is needed is more mental strength.
He won’t get that from kids. He will get that from seasoned players. Ditch the kids Neil. Bring them on at 3-0 up.
Don’t ditch them. But don’t throw them into the bear pit either.
