It is difficult not to feel for Ross Wilson today.
He was sent out today to soothe the fears of the Ibrox klan base about the possibility of an austerity drive hitting the first-team squad in January.

He is, as you no doubt will be aware, the current Director of Fantasy at Sevco.
Regular readers will also know that he has been tasked to move players out the door.
As I have previously reported Mr Wilson had a tense sit down with Mr Let’s Go last month about the need to downsize the squad.
After that dignified conclave, the Sevco manager decided to get his presser retaliation in first and he told the assembled hacks that players would be leaving in January.
It is no secret that the centrepiece of that transfer window will be Operation Sell Alfredo.

He is undoubtedly the most sellable asset in the Sevco squad.
Moreover, the Colombian is now scoring goals in Europe and so far this season he hasn’t been sent off.
Of course, if you believe the gushing pish in the Daily Radar then you would be forgiven for thinking that Sevco has stumbled upon the new Radamel Falcao.
Even clearing that succulent garbage out of the way there will be some struggling EPL or Championship team who might take a chance on him in January.
Where the rubber hits the road is how desperate they are when they make their first offer for Alfredo.
If any potential buyers do their due diligence then they will know that the Ibrox outfit is desperate for cash.
The recently published RIFC accounts should dispel any doubters on that score.
Now, if a lowball offer is accepted for their top scorer then the anger of the Ibrox klan might be directed at Mr Wilson.

However, that would be grossly unfair.
He’s just following orders…

Distressed sale, low ball offers incoming.
1st point. Who gives a fuck about who or what they sell? This is SM squirrels, OK he’s scoring but when was the last time any player went through a season without an injury or dip?
2nd point. See point 1.
is there a date set yet for the January court decision.
One of the other problems RW is facing when trying to pawn the Sevco jewels…. Sevco will be asking for full payment up-front, not staged payments. I’d say that pretty much limits your potential pool of buyers to those who are either flush or are desperate risk takers. This also affects the selling price. Clubs may agree to full payment but only for a vastly reduced fee.
Sevco players are available at firesale prices. Everyone knows it, even the Sevconians know it but are living in denial.
Those who actually earn their crust in the game, managers and agents etc… know far more than is ever published in the MSM, they don’t pay heed to the crap fed to the fans.
I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if the Sevco wage bill remains pretty much intact at the end of January.
This indeed will be an epic January.
on the one hand, they sell him, and give squirrel stories of WAR CHEST for the Ego One., hmmm the Ego one thinks that’s great for meeeee n meeeee staff. Eh, Steven says Roberston and Wilson, can we have a word…… the reputed £40million to spend is actually true you’ve got £10 and even then, we will need European qualification and a title win, but Oh without a 35 goral a season player, don’t suppose you could use the 38 year old Defud. Can you?
Turns out Liverpool don’t have anymore players to loan up, other than another Ejaria……
Termeeeeenado anyone ?
So the SG Brand meeting go like:
Ok, so their going in to admin again, they will try and pin it on you as they bank rolled your 2 season game plan and YOU blew it,
they will make it you are chequebook manager ( something that is difficult to convince epl chairmen you are not) the guy at the top is a maniac and will slice us and you up in the local media. We need a SKY studio for the LFC title parade.
They are going to say old man defoe was enough on your say so, to carry the title fight if El Duffalo wasn’t there. and the option of Gumtree Galaticos should have been enough, as it’s only Celtic.
Your pal Mark Allen bounced, even he knows the game is up and there was puff pieces from Guidi, Hannah, Jackson and Co to say ach, well, he wasn’t that great anyway look at all these other signings, but there were signed off by you even of you weren’t because you are the MANAGER and not the head coach.
Celtic are heading to month 16th of this 22 month POST BR 10IAR plan and are on the countdown to completing history……. They will crash the oldco, the Newco, the Sevco, and any other kinda co they want. but month 16th will be massive in the pendulum of that.
Win that Cup and Christmas Fixture and the seismic crack in the NewCos DNA will appear. so YYUGGGE as the Ego one would say……. it will be Termeeeenado from Him and Torpedo for Them.
Winter is Coming.
Can an English team actually sign him.
You need to have played in at least 70% of you national teams games in the last 2 years, he hasn’t. He isn’t better than what is already available down there , so couldn’t get a visa that way
Can Morelos go to the EPL? Does he meet their criteria for overseas players?
No, he doesn’t.
Yes Mr Let’s Go was not long in backtracking on his quote that Morelos is 100% going nowhere in January. Within a day or two of making that comment he said every player has his price . No matter what FAKE NEWS comes out from sevco the BENNY’S will always believe it as they’ve come to far now to turn back it’s a one way ticket ride now . Just ask the CHISLERS pals at club 1872 . But then again another wee squirrel story to sooth the KLAN if players do get sold in January from club 1872 always does the trick to keep the BENNY’S in line .
It’s a really tricky scenario to consider…
accept the first lowball offer for Morelos just to get the much needed cash now,
[and mibbees have some wiggle room to negotiate a higher down payment than 40%?],
OR
hold out for a higher offer and/or a higher down payment, [and assuming that is even an option of course].
But that offer just might not materialise during January.
Keeping Morelos won’t hurt any TRFC title or SC challenge – and the SMSM could spin that it’s just like TRFC ‘signing a £25M+ player’ !
BUT
I think Morelos by now, probably has his heart – and wallet – set on a transfer ASAP. The financial distress of RIFC/TRFC will not be his concern.
SO
Let your arguably best player leave on the cheap… or keep an increasingly frustrated / petulant player to destabilise the squad for the rest of the season?
Oh dear, what a pity, nevermind. 🙂
I’ve asked this before and I’ll ask again. Why would any ambitious team wish to sell a top asset/player, least of all their top goalscorer ? HH
I really cant see them selling him in Jan unless they are 6pts+ behind us. To be fair they are playing relatively well and even the bookies have them at 2/1. I think they have he squad to beat all the other teams. We should have lent Henderson, Henry and AN Other to Aberdeen IMO.
I believe DK will throw everything at it this year and if they go into admin (after they “win” it) then so be it – he doesnt care. All his actions and spending (short term retail income at the cost of long term legal fees, R Kent are 2 examples of this) would point to this strategy.
My only comfort is that Big Mike will ring fence any funds they have before this happens. The court date in Jan is huge.
