Celtic face disciplinary proceedings from UEFA

I have just received this from UEFA in answer to an email that I had sent them apropos the AIK v Celtic match.

Dear Phil,

Disciplinary proceedings have been opened following the UEFA Europa League play-off second-leg match between AIK and Celtic FC (1-4), played on 29 August in Belgium.

Charges against AIK:

– Stairways blocked – Art. 38 of the UEFA Safety and Security Regulations

Charges against Celtic FC:

– Setting off of fireworks – Art. 16 (2) DR

– Throwing of objects – Art. 16 (2) DR

These cases will be dealt with by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body on 19 September.

Kind regards,

Nota bene

Clearly the fixture referenced was not in Belgium.

However, that was the error of UEFA in their email to me.

  1. I spent the whole of yesterday in a celebratory haze. Can anyone tell me who won the bidding war for Morelos and Tavernier? I’m hoping the fees weren’t huge. I’d hate the peepul to get the money to buy Kent, the new Edin Hazard!

    Oh my aching sides!

  2. Terence Nova, have you not heard of the old saying:’Eating’s cheating’? Be a good chap and play the game correctly from now on. Why is my friggin’ heid still splitting? HH

  3. So that broth of a boy, the bold Kyle Lafferty, is now of the opinion that the Tribute Huns should be installed as bookies favourites after the signing of Ryan Kent. Methinks that the bold boy has been over-indulging in a cocktail popular in Loyalist areas of the North. It’s a cheeky little number, consisting of the following, in equal parts: vodka, buckfast, lighter fuel and liquid parafin. On the negative side, it can destroy all brain cells if not taken in moderation. On the plus side, in Mr Lafferty’s case, you cannot destroy that which is not there in the first place. GO KYLE.

Rumour has it that the Kent fella is now known as ‘The Catalogue’ as the payment installments to Liverpool are being met at the grand total of 20 quid a fortnight…real jet-set stuff. Seriously though, how can these feckers afford both the fee, and the astronomical wages, I assume he must be on? What the f**k is Dodgy Dave up to? Is he trying to bankrupt the poor dears?

    • They get 2.9m euro for UEL group qualification so my guess is that’s the down payment and they’re gambling future revenues to make up the instalments. Time will tell.

  4. Someone, somewhere is making a hefty sum out of selling Green Brigade merchandise. The club should go after this person or persons and fleece them for every penny, in order to pay off any fine imposed for GB misbehaviour. They certainly will not get away with a ‘Match The Fine’ stunt, this time. Give these bastards not one thin dime. HH

  5. Phil, no update for a while on Sevco’s finances where are they pulling £7 Million from for Kent? May have Europa League income but with loans and Mike Ashley judgement due, even with the fee spread out how are they managing that? More soft loans, share issue in the pipeline or is their situation not as bad as portrayed?

  6. The Green Brigade brigands should indeed be shown the door and for all time at that. These Huns have been warned time after time re their behaviour. CSCs should be moved into that section. At least we will know that CELTIC fans are in that particular section. At the end of the day we should still be celebrating a great win. We should not be having once again to refer the behaviour of these moronic little bastards. F**K OF TO IBROX WHERE YOU BELONG. HH

  7. If the GB want to continue along their path of they know best and fuck the rest, then they’ll only serve to alienate the 99% of the Celtic family who are law abiding whilst supporting their beloved club.
They can stick their noise and colour up their collective arse if it comes with the caveat of club fines and stadium bans.
The club built them their very own standing section and this is the thanks they get.
Our board are far from perfect but if it comes to a stand off between them and the GB, there’ll only be one winner in the 99 percent’s eyes.
The bottom line is, we just don’t like neds following our great club and bringing it down.

  8. OT … you often say follow the money, Phil. Where have Sevco come up with 7m for Kent? I hope you’re thinking of doing a piece on this soon.

  9. I commented last week on Celtic fans misbehaviour being the reasons why Lawell and Celtic can’t support them while they continue to embarrass the club and behave like the scum bags of Govan. If it continues Peter will have no hesitation in shutting down the green brigade. They’ve had plenty warnings

  10. I commented on a photo on thursday about the idiots setting off flares and the charges coming from uefa and that celtic should know who would have tickets and to ban them from matches all I got was abuse from so called celtic fans, well these are the fans who will cost celtic and mr Lawwell will have no hesitation closing the green brigade section again when will they learn will it take someone getting seriously injured before they see sense?

  11. We must be approaching around £300k in fines now.

The next step is partial stadium closure.

    No pyro no party?

    Get it to fuck

    • I think we might have done the pyrotechnics. We have “previous” for it, however, I don’t think our Bhoys would be throwing missiles – I go along with the line that celtic are adopting, namely that our section was infiltrated by Swedish casuals.

  13. Celtic fans need to police these issues at away games

Get our own house in order, before gloating at the Champions of Fk ups in Govan!

  14. Celtic must have the details of all who purchased tickets surely?
I would ban all of those who attended INDEFINITELY until those who are guilty come forward, own up and are rightly dealt with.
Split the fines between them and don’t let them back until they pay them.
These flares serve no purpose other than “Tryin tae look cool n nat”
Wee Richard Heads one and all.

  15. Check out the reaction to yesterday’s result by the True Blues Loyal on utube. F*****G comedy gold. Also on same site check out the reaction of Mr CJNOVO. A most intelligent and fair chap who always calls it as he sees it, even when his team gets beat. Not sure that I could be so fair under the same circumstances. The man is a true football fan, even if he supports the wrang team. Unlike the Union Bears and the Green Brigade, who are of course wee f*****g ar*eholes, if you’ll pardon my turn of phrase. HH

  16. Disappointedly UEFA seem to have not taking into account Celtic’s complaints BEFORE the match that non-Celtic fans had infiltrate our section, as surely that would be spelled out in the charges against AIK.

  17. Well said Terence Nova. Did not believe all the Hammerby crap, as I previously posted. Isn’t it strange that anytime there is trouble at our games, the little merchant bankers with the Green Brigade banner are always in the mix. Get tae f**k ya wee bastards and the sooner the better for us all.

By the way, our Christian brethern in the Govan Stand seemed none to happy after the Johnny Hayes corker. Cheer up now lads, it’s only a game after all. HH

    • Cheers magua….It needs to be sorted now.
Also…I never replied to an earlier post of yours regarding ” marathons at the pub.”
Your stats of 26 pints and 3 kebabs, are most impressive…and way above my achievements.
I’m pretty sure I quaffed 10 pints and 2 haufs over the period…assisted by fish and chips and peas.
      Hail hail.

  18. Phil can I pass a message onto the “supporters” who have got us into trouble again with UEFA…?
