I was delighted to learn this morning that Darren O’Dea is heading back to Celtic.
My information, from two independent sources, is that he will commence his new employment with the champions on September 10th.

I’m told that it will be in a coaching capacity with either the Academy or the Reserves.
You couldn’t meet a more down to earth and level headed lad.
I always enjoyed our chats when he was back home with the national team.
As we say here, “there’s no side to him”.
Moreover, Darren is a keen student of the game.
Now, that is a good skill mix for a smashing coach.
It is a wise appointment by the Armagh man who is putting his own backroom team in place.
I’m sure that Darren will be a huge success in his new role.
Comhghairdeas le mo bhuachaill!

I sat among 50,00 plus Celtic supporters last night…and got put through the wringer…again.
I’ll stop short of saying I’m glad we’re out of the CL…but am I bothered…??…Nah.
The brutal truth is…we’re not CL standard and this might save us from further humiliations further down the line.
It is perfectly clear that the Board sees the CL as a gravy train…nothing more nothing less….and football is secondary.
I’m also of the opinion that we’re not EL standard either…we shall see.
Like many others I thought Lenny got the team wrong last night.
Do I rate Bolingoli …?…certainly not at the moment…Would I have played him last night….?? Probably not…But Callum at LB….??
Sorry…but that was a big mistake….and I would have played Leigh long before Mikey Johnston.
To have spent £10 million ( huge money for us ) on two defenders and then have them sitting on the bench, suggests to me someone somewhere got it wrong with these two…Will heads roll…??
I doubt it.
Anyway it is what it is…another European shambles.
Some may now be looking forward to the EL games…but personally I’m not interested….that’s how bad its become.
I can only hope that this doesn’t affect our domestic approach…and that we continue the high level of domination that we’ve enjoyed for so long.
After nights like this…its hard to be a Happy Tim.
That’s pish Celtic, playing mikie Johnson from start, it’s not his fault, Neil Lennon picked the wrong team from a full squad,
Johnson is better off coming off the bench when we’re winning, playing no left back is madness, if our new left back is fit how can LENNY be so stupid not to play him.
He is a thug and shouldn’t be allowed near Celtic Park
O’Dea has no experience and it’s similar with Duff and, more or less, Kennedy.
I do hope the lack of experience in our coaching ranks is going to be addressed.
I was sitting in the main stand when he made his debut against Hearts, big John Hartson scored a screamer from outside the box. Young Darren took a nasty knock but ran it off, I remember him signalling to the bench he was fit to continue. Great player on his game but never really reached the heights.
Hopefully he brings some of that fight on spirit to the youngsters at Lennoxtown
Top lad.
Delighted for him.
Sack Lennon ASAP
