This morning I spoke with a couple of veteran print journalists from Scotland.
Between them, they have close to 80 years in the trade.
One of them is a life member of my union the NUJ.
They both excelled in news and current affairs.
I shared my piece with them yesterday apropos this pithead disaster at the Evening Times.
They didn’t demur from the central thesis contained in my article.
Moreover, neither of them could offer any explanation as to how this clusterfuck made it into print at the Evening Times.
Personally, I’m struggling to identify the provenance of the quotes from the Shkendija manager Qatip Osmani.
Baffling…
Late yesterday I caught up with a valuable source who related the details of a recent dignified conclave of the Sevco High Command.
I was grateful for this background from someone who takes genuine professional risks in updating me on the situation at Ibrox.
This gave me an idea…
So here it is:
If any of the Stenography Corps want to contact me then I can give them an excellent steer as to who within the Blue Room they should approach for an interview.
Indeed, I will give them a list of forensically precise questions to put this person.
I think that’s a very generous offer dear reader.
The RIFC director I have in mind recently asked the following question:
“How do we fund this going forward?”
He also counselled his colleagues that they should make peace with Mike Ashley on the retail deal.

The director also pointed out that the club had picked a fight that they didn’t need to be embroiled in and that, crucially, they couldn’t win.
This wise policy was rubbished by the disembodied voice from South Africa.

Apparently, the Convict Chairman seems to be holding onto hope that he can convince one of his Blue Room colleagues to once more “soft investment” in order to keep the Sevco shitshow on the road.
The director who had questioned the sustainability of the current operation is definitely a sane voice within the Blue Room.
I believe that such a chap might be willing to on the record or at least brief off the record.
Either way, it would be a valuable piece of journalism.
You see dear reader there is a rich vein of stories to be mined down Ibrox way.
It is just that a freelancer in another country should not be the one doing the excavating.
For the avoidance of doubt, as I have other matters waiting to be unearthed in the Word Mines.
So this isn’t really a job for your humble correspondent.
Moreover, my two grizzled colleagues agreed with me this morning.
For the Fitba Fourth Estate, it isn’t a good look…
Is it?

Ho, ho, ho. It looks as if those guys who compiled their world football chart got their Celtic and Rangers mixed up.
Celtic have rightly now been placed well above the Ibrox club who have tumbled down the table as they should.
It would appear that the Scottish stats which were provided to them initially had been influenced by the provider to make the Ibrox club look relevant.
Surely the ET was not the source given they and Chris Jack’s recent howler?
You have to seriously wonder WHO DID supply the original information.
It was probably the ”freelancer” who supplied Mr Jack’s previous inaccurate quotes who will get the blame for this latest attempt to ‘big up’ the boys down Ibrokes way.
