Sevco en route to lift the Transfer Speculation Cup

I think it should be clear that Sevco are in line for yet another ethereal trophy this summer.

By the time the window closes, it will be undeniable who will triumph on the back pages.

Despite the best efforts of the rest of Planet Fitba, the seven-year-old club should be presented with the Transfer Speculation Cup for 2019.

Sadly, Celtic are perennial losers in this competition.

That is because the Parkhead outfit has real bids in for their players.

That is the sort of thing that gets you eliminated from the Transfer Speculation Cup.

For example, Arsenal really ARE trying to sign Kieran Tierney.

Moreover, they’re willing to part with REAL money to secure his services.

Similarly, the interest by Zenit in Tom Rogic would be deemed ineligible in the Transfer Speculation Cup as it is actually true.

One of the many differences between the biggest club in Scotland and the basket of assets is that the Treble Treble winners have genuine equity in their squad.

Of course, the Sevco High Command would love to have similar interest shown in their galacticos from real clubs with actual money to spend.

Despite the best efforts of the Stenography Corps so far this summer there have been no bids that would alter the financial landscape at Ibrox.

May 25th seems a long time ago, but when you clear away the back page Sevco hysteria there some inconvenient truths for the dignified:

Neil Lennon knows that the core of the Treble Treble winning squad remains extant…

It is also a forensic fact that he has the biggest transfer budget in Scotland should he wish to strengthen.

So, next week the real stuff returns and Celtic are back in competitive action in Sarajevo.

These early matches in Europe are fraught with hazard and the Hoops could stumble a la Lincoln Red Imps.

Not so in the domestic sphere, as the Parkhead side have the resources to win the attritional campaign en route to the title.

Indeed, as it stands it would take Archie Duke and his Ostrich to topple Celtic from their perch on Planet Fitba.

That basic fact is easy to forget as Sevco lifts the Transfer Speculation Cup to add to their impressive haul of non-existent trophies.

  2. I don’t believe the Ibrox club has had no bida for El Buffoon and Tavernier.
The problem will be that the offers will be of the low ball variety and bear no resemblance to some of the numbers being promoted by the media over the last few weeks
Prospective buyers should have done theie homework and are aware of the merchandising clusterfuck which might require an immediate influx of cash to pay off SD, whilst Tavernier’s defensive qualities are not of an EPL standard and Morelos is a law unto himself and is unmanageable.
His sending off tally should have been much greater bur for the incompetence of referees and the scewed up SFA disciplinary process.

  3. No trophies?!

But this ‘club/clumpany’ thingy is the proud onetime winner of The Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup!

    • We’re in trouble… according to the papers, Daniel Sturridge is about to pitch up in the onshore tax haven of Govan. I think we’ve just pissed the best part of £7 million up a wall. 🤣🤣🤣

  4. I think you’re being unduly pessimistic, as this morning we absolutely smashed St Gallen 9-1 in an 80 minute game.

Early days, I know, but on that form, I’m convinced we can wrest the 80 minute league from Sevco.

    • And you are unduly optimistic. St Gallen game was a goalless draw.

Saying Mikey Johnston is beginning to look the part.
