I’m told that there was a rather tense conference call last week between Elite Sports and a couple of senior Sevco functionaries.
As the conclave progressed it was self-evident that the two Ibrox chaps weren’t that well informed on the situation.
Indeed, the Elite Sports chaps observed that they probably knew more about the situation than the guys at the other end of the line and that was quickly conceded by the two Ibrox employees.
Therefore, it ended up with the information exchange going the other way.
For the avoidance of doubt, the call was set up so that the Sevco guys could bring their commercial partners up to speed on the Ashley case!
However, they realised that the two Govan based fellows they were talking to were not responsible for this clusterfuck.
Of course, a cynic might conclude that the author of this shambles resides south of the Limpopo.
However, I must point out that it is never Dave’s fault.
I think it is fair to say that all of the parties ensnared within Mr King’s car boot sale are now very concerned about the ongoing litigation.
There appear to be only two options:
Just beg Big Mike for forgiveness or find the money and pay him off.
There are several problems with that grand plan.
Firstly, General Ashley is not the forgiving type.
Secondly, the money simply isn’t there.
Of course, Mr Let’s Go thinks that he DOES have substantial funds to spend in the summer to topple Celtic next season.
Please, please, no laughing at the back.

Our wonderful media are happy to keep pushing Gerrard’s ‘must add quality’ line.
Not one of them has dared to challenge him as a load of Bosmans turn up to inflate the squad size and therefore the wage bill.
You would think that with the number of accountants on the Ibrox roster, plus of course the self proclaimed ICAS member esconced in South Africa, that someone would realise that the numbers don’t add up.
Despite the recently released unaudited accounts full of good news and cheer you can bet your bottom dollar that the auditors will once again be signing off on numbers seriously in the red, despite the Europa run and cash generated.
No sooner had the unaudited numbers been released than a phone call was made again to Close Bros and a further ‘overdraft’ facility was set up, secured against everything at Ibrox that wasn’t nailed to the floor.
The merchandising contract mess should be plastered all over the media on a daily basis, such is the potential damage to the Ibrox club but it barely gets a mention.
It’s almost as if our media can’t bare to depress their readership further by revealing that a dark cloud is hovering over Ibrox and the quality additions demanded by Gerrard will all be of the Bosman variety, unless Morelos and Tavernier are sold to provide Stevie G with a war chest.
Sorry to disappoint you Joe but word has reached me that the nails in the floor have been secured as well !
I’m now wondering if they are still nails in the floor or are they secured to something else. HH

“Of course, Mr Let’s Go thinks that he DOES have substantial funds to spend in the summer to topple Celtic next season.”
Aye but you’re saying that as if Slippy would just take Dave King at face value, which clearly won’t be the case.
I mean it’s not like he’s thick as pigsh…

Shirley, Gerrard’s advisors are already hawking his services to all Championship clubs?
Even if he doesn’t have a Scooby about RIFC / TRFC finances, his advisors can see what’s coming, (or not coming, in terms of that ever-elusive ‘war chest’).
Gerrard has already peaked at Ibrox.
Somebody should tell him.
Think you’re right. Tried to blame quality of signings, then realised they were his own. Trying to blame indiscipline this morning but hasn’t realised that discipline comes from the management team. Only way is down.
