Alfredo and Del Boy

I’m hearing that yesterday on the playing fields of Auchenhowie Señor Alfredo José Morelos Aviléz and Mr Let’s Go almost had a square go.

On the playing fields of Auchenhowie, it was a nose to nose interaction.

Thankfully one of the long-suffering coaching staff stepped in.

Apparently, the dispute arose when the resident MBE asked the suspended Colombian to do some extra work.

I’m told that Alfredo didn’t see the point as he was the top scorer at the basket of assets.

Consequently, he didn’t really see the need to do anything over and above the normal.

It is worth noting that the Sevco High Command saw the South American as their main chance in the summer transfer window.

The sale of Morelos would be the windfall that would plug the hole in the accounts.

Indeed, the compensation package that Celtic received from Leicester City for Brendan Rodgers, Chris Davies and Kolo Toure was very close to the magic number that the Blue Room chaps wanted for Alfredo.

Unfortunately, his ill-discipline has rather devalued his market value.

Moreover, he’s on a bloated contract and appears to be out of control on the pitch.

However, it can’t all be laid at the door of the South American.

I’m told that he was given inter-galactic permission to speak to the media in his homeland.

Therefore, his faux pas was of the authorised variety.

Oops!

The thing is they really could be doing with top dollar for the striker in the summer.

I understand that the Sevco High Command has, once more, reached out to General Ashley in the past few days.

They’re both due back in court next Thursday in London apropos the ill-judged car boot sale.

The bottom line is that Big Mike had a contract with Sevco and the Ibrox chaps broke that contract.

That much has been established already in open court.

What is to be decided next week is how much Ashley is owed from Sevco’s Del Boy venture.

However, I’m sure the chaps in the Blue Room are entirely relaxed about the outcome.

The fact that Big Mike has lodged a claim of £9.78m will not cause any angst whatsoever at Ibrox.

Especially, as they have an owner in Mr David Cunningham King who has vast personal wealth and loves the club deeply.

Have a great weekend!

  1. Given the lack of coverage by the Scottish media one could be forgiven that Ashley has walked away, as previously claimed by the de facto Rangers Chairman, and this coming week’s court case with Sports Direct is just a figment of someone’s imagination?
With Gerrard stating that Kent is beyond the financial reach of the Ibrox club will Liverpool help out their former hero by extending the loan for another season or will they take a £10m offer from any interested party?
With Big Mike it’s all about the timing and lo and behold is it not ST renewal time with the big bucks starting to hit the bank account.
If a £10m charge, plus legal fees, results from this week’s latest court case Morelos and Tavernier’s feet won’t touch the ground as they will be punted at the earliest opportunity with prospective buyers well aware that the sales are of the fire variety.
Is anyone going to offer more than, or as much as, £5m for El Buffoon, with a disciplinary record as long as your arm.
8 games against the Champions, yet to register a goal. I doubt if that record will endear himself to any EPL team.
It appears that Celtic will fight Broonie’s case tooth and nail, citing precedent where possible, though smiling and laughing with extreme force is a new charge for everyone.
The apparent charge of showing Scottish football in a bad light is surely a late April 1st joke from our friends at Hampden.
The same clowns who appointed EBT McLeish as the national team manager, who are having difficulty pushing purchase of the Hampden shithole over the line, up to their necks in the 5 way secret agreement, party to a new club being awarded the trophies of a club in liquidation, complicit in the LNS farce,
complicit in disregarding the ineligible registrations of dozens of players whilst handing out stiff penalties to those who can ill afford it.
Lets not forget the self inflicted laughing stock of the Scottish Cup draw when they got the 6’s and 9’s mixed up.
Also complicit in awarding a UEFA licence to the Ibrox club when everyone knew that taxes remained unpaid which should have seen Celtic take their place in the CL qualifiers.
And these same jokers have the brass neck to level accusations against Broonie when the reality is that the SFA themselves are the biggest embarrassment in world football and couldn’t be trusted to be sent to the shops for a free newspaper.

  2. Hope the lively little Colombian didn’t reach out for Slippy’s plums in one of his usual moves but then again, Slippy hasn’t proved to anyone he had a set to begin with. HH

  4. Phil , you mentioned that Mr King has ”vast wealth ” – would it be indelicate for one to describe him as having ”wealth off the radar ” ?
Or is this a copyright issue with one of our infamous ‘stenographers ‘ ?

  5. Phil, thats pretty much the same figure that King had to make available in the most recent court case.
So no problem there, Davy boy can pick up the tab using that now not needed cash…… meanwhile on another universe………
Assume ST full stadium sell out, 50,000 seats at top dollar, £500 quid a go= £25m less vat, say £20m left in the kitty.
Some of the money comes in throughout the year with some paying up on a monthly basis.
In the good old DM days a finance company would have provided the cash up front and collected from the punters monthly taking a % for their kindness.
I doubt if that is currently an option
So if Ashley gets his £10m and the Close Bros loan is repaid, how much of the ST money will be left.
Not enough for a warchest for sure and with El Buffoon’s temprament chasing off suitors like snow from a dyke how the hell are they going to fund the shortfall?
