Co-investors to the rescue?

I’m afraid that Sevco’s “co-investors” are about to be called upon once more.

At a recent conclave of the Sevco High Command, the convict chairman came up with a cunning plan.

He was dialled into the sit-down which also comprised of the Serious Professional and the Conveyancing Consigliere.

My information is that the tantalising prospect of substantial spending on the squad in January will be dangled in front of The People.

As part of this grand plan, the Director of Fantasy will be brought on centre stage.

He will talk in excited tones about targeting Next Gen players at top clubs with a view to selling them on later for huge profits.

The convict chairman thinks that the People will buy this and it is hoped that between £4.5m-£6m will be raised in this fashion.

I asked my source about the plan to sell three players for £1.5m each (£4.5m).

He told me that those figures had already been factored in and the money raised for the January transfer window would be extra.

However, and here’s the rub, rather than those monies going on Wunderkinder in January it would simply be for operating capital!

I’m told that Mr King’s disassociation from transfer reality is now appallingly self-evident to the Blue Room chaps.

Apparently, he believes that Wes Foderingham can bring in £4.5m.

The Serious professional and his colleagues believe that the guy who has lost the gloves to Allan McGregor will only command a fraction of that.

Indeed, they think that the sale of Foderingham, Morelos and a defender would bring in £4.5m.

I know the identity of the third man on the list, but I’m not a grass!

As with everything at Sevco, it all comes back to money, or rather the lack of it.
