As my site becomes more popular the amount of comments has grown.
The old system was getting extremely difficult to manage, so I have switched over to Disqus to power the comments.
Disqus has some nice features:
You can log in with your Facebook/Google/Twitter id
You can reply to specific comments
You can vote comments up and down
All your existing comments on the site are still there but you will need to register with Disqus to put up new comments. Once you register, Disqus will recognise your email address and link all your previous comments to your new Disqus account. You can keep using your existing username.
Any issues let me know and I will pass it onto my techie folk.

Great to keep up to date with all the “good news” from the “mighty club”.

Testing!
Disqusted of Basingstoke is disqusted by this change!
Seriously though, it’s a good platform – this will make posting smoother & quicker with less intervention required from Phil.
Yup! New setup works for me too.
Hope this works 😀 .
It works! 🙂
Phil , belated congrats on your 10th anniversary. Eventually got around to registering . All the best for the next 10 . What will we discussing then ? Celtic going for 18-in a row and getting to 55 first. ? Too triumphalist ? Might think about putting a line on for the 55 first . interesting to see the odds offered . Remember ,the bookies are rarely wrong and NEVER out of pocket .
Already signed up with Disqus so a simple transition for me.
Good idea!
Lots of post match talk tonight of England being back with the big boys.
They have just been knocked out by a country with a population of less than 5 million.
At no stage in the tournament have they played one of the big boys, unless you count the reserves match against Belgium.
Their record in World and European championships is embarrassing.
A 1966 WC win at home, and 2 semi finals since.
It’s pathetic and when compared to Brazil, Germany, France, Italy they are not at the races.
Tonight their world class leader and captain was invisible, no stupid defenders on hand to haul English players to the ground and give away yet another penalty.
Well done to little Crotia who despite coming through 2 extra time matches finished the game much the stronger team.
I see the Icelandic team has got the better of Rosenborg tonight.
Could be an easier path to the 3rd qualifying round given the tough tie that the Norwegians gave us last season.
Thanks Phil, forever improving, now that can be applied to almost everything in life.
I read an Irish saying somewhere not long ago,it went something like this;’nothing is ever that bad that it couldn’t get worse’
Noo there’s a saying I won’t forget in a hurry,it’ funny and kinda Irish humour.
I love it.?
Thanks again Mr.Fear and I hope you live to be 120,coz I promise you this,as long as you are doing all this great work,in me,you have a loyal subject,if you wanna phrase it that way.Amen.?✅☮️
Hopefully with your new site going through the Disqus facility will stop any pestering niggles and be a great success.HH
Just checking that I’ve pressed the right buttons…
Excellent new format
Have had to ‘up’ my skills, being an old technophobe, but as long as I’m still able to read your blogs Phil. HH
Hope I’ve done this right ?
Hopefully this has worked.
This will be much better Phil
Shared.
yep pretty easy.Cool.
Ok, let’s see how this works then.
no worries Phil. You do have to deal with lots of comments (a good thing) so can understand.
Should be better using this method.
Thanks, Phil! By using this platform to automatically permit comments and opinions/counter-opinions, you should enjoy more free time to investigate the stories provided by your various contacts and third-party sources. However, I don’t doubt that you will still have to moderate it, because by and large, people do not know or care to self-regulate on forums.
All I will say to others is: play nice! The less time Phil spends moderating, the more time he has to spend investigating!
At leleast Disqus allows you to add persistent pests to ban lists and such, so will hopefully take up less of Phil’s time after the initial mop-up phase.
A new home
