Tonight the Big Two on Planet Fitba go head to head.
If any team can stop Celtic in their tracks it is the men from Pittodrie.
Anyone who doubts that Aberdeen is the second power in the land hasn’t been paying attention.
Of course, the stenographers are still grieving for the “Old Firm”.
They till haven’t dealt with their loss in 2012.
Rangers died and I’m afraid that a basket of assets does not a major football club make.
If Sevco gets a result against Killie tonight then the back pages will trumpet it with their usual sycophantic glee.
The truth, though, is more prosaic and The People must be shielded from reality at all times.

Consequently, there was some clumsy deflection PR put out by the Holding Company vehicle yesterday.
The disciplinary fiasco that was the League Cup semi-final provided an excellent squirrel to distract The People.
Although the statement was released to the media I can’t find it on the Sevco website.
The reality was that by the letter of the law Ryan Bowman’s challenge on Cardoso was not a straight red.
Now, by my mind, that means that the rules should be changed.
Apparently, the video evidence against Bruno Alves on Louis Moult was a slam dunk.
Therefore, the rationale behind the statement was risible.
The very idea that Sevco is being singled out for discriminatory treatment by the SFA will have the rest of Planet Fitba in laughing fits.
The Holding Company vehicle statement released to the media yesterday afternoon could be used in PR degree courses of how NOT to be a communications professional.
When I first read the statement I thought I detected the style of a certain young theologian, peace be upon him.
Therefore, I was amazed to learn this afternoon, from an impeccably placed source, that this self-pitying rant against the SFA actually had a high-Level provenance.
I understand that the young ecumenist is not now allowed near the Sevco keyboard for his own sake.
So it was the Holding Company Vehicle’s inter-galactic PR guru who wrote the statement.
For the avoidance of doubt, that means that Sevco PAID an outside contractor to write that scattergun rant.
Consequently, an invoice from a galaxy far far away will soon be landing in Johannesburg for that PR own goal.
File under “bizarre”.

Its getting to sqweeky bum time. There’s no, none, nanty in way of positive news coming down the pike for Sevco. And we’ve still got the accounts to be published.?
Is someone forking out for this months wages, which I think are due tomorrow?
GASL paying JABBA , sounds like an illegal sexual transaction of some kind .
The statement from their pr guru, from a far away galaxy, is nothing but Barry and Lillian.
This non-professional should have his hands tied up with postal tape and secured to his ankles with same.
Tonight in Aberdeen Celtic were immense. Total football as Jock and Tommy eschewed.
Another great blog Phil. Do you have Murray Park and Mordor bugged?
Just asking. Lol
Has it not always been the case that the teams who have played at ibrox been involved in discriminatory treatment throughout their existence? Back in the old days before they died it went their way most days, EBTS need I say more and the new entity enjoyed it going their way for a period, ( provisional ??????licences being granted, European licence, fit and proper criteria being bent, SFA blind eyes at other naughtiness where finances should be scrutinised)but alas it seems to have run out…
It’s funny when the worm turns how they want to see action… As for red cards and bans, do they not understand that two wrongs don’t make a right, Alves was guilty of an action with obvious malicious intent, end of story, because his teammate tried to take out a steel man with his nose tackle is neither here nor there.. Will sevco be brought up on a charge for calling the governing body into disrepute with their allegations of impropriety within the governing body and its actions where they are concerned..
There were 4 elbowing incidents in the semi final 2 by a Motherwell player and 2 by a Rangers player.
Only Bowman was booked. None of the elbowing was deliberate, by any player. It was at worst reckless. The only incident that was violent was the one in which Alves has rightly been suspended for. I cannot remember a bad tackle in the game. Sadly Motherwell have not been given credit for a brilliantly executed victory. You see that’s what can happen, when rules are applied fairly and old traditions are not used to influence outcomes.
Lord Bannatyne ruled in court as a High Court of Session Judge that Rangers FC were not demoted, were not relegated and were not sent or put down the leagues.
He stated that a club (The Rangers FC founded 2012) entered into a contract with the SFL to join the SFL in its bottom league.
The Galactic spin was not engaged nor paid for by the penniless one south of the Limpopo. Because you cannot spin away a High Court judgement.
Congratulations to Motherwell and Louis Moult on a well deserved semi final win.
That hasn’t stopped the BBC drafting in EBT-beneficiary Souness to trot out the “Scottish football needs a strong rangers or it will die” myth. No, rangers died. Scottish football is doing alright without them. The Holding Company aren’t deserving of the rangers name, tainted as it is, and have offered NOTHING since climbing through the lower leagues – ones they were shoe-horned in to, not relegated or demoted to – to join the top tier. Maybe not quite ‘nothing’, there is the comedy value.
At the weekend, I understood perfectly why the ref didn’t take action against Alves for his kick-out at Moult – he knew fine well they’d appeal against it and on recent form that is something they can win. If Kiernan can be cleared after being caught on camera punching an opposition player then short of actually shooting someone then I think they have nothing to worry about in that area at least! It is funny how they’re criticising officials and judicial systems that have served ibrox so well in the past but when Lennon raised genuine concerns it was ‘paranoia’. Maybe the officials recognise they’re not rangers anymore?
That said, I was a little concerned about Brendan’s criticism of the officials, fearing they might show him how can listen by penalising Celtic at every opportunity but by the sound of tonight’s game Craig Thompson dislikes the Dons even more than he does the Celts.
Im half hoping they get a draw tonight to keep the whole stage show staggering on for another week.
Pedro really is something else , maybe they will bring back bullfighting.
First rule of any strategy , never split your forces…just ask Napoleon. be lucky.
I thought the statement was from Jabba as had all his hallmarks – juvenile, contradictory nonsense with a failed attempt at sounding intelligent by the overuse of some big words. An empty vessel…
When I read that statement I had images of a 12 year old with crayons – the most pitiful thing I’ve read since the shameful statement defending pitch invading fans at the Cup Final v Hibs.
Unfortunately, I am in little doubt that, while the opportunity for deflection from greater woes would have been convenient, they are absolutely genuine in their belief that they are being hard done to by the authorities. This, I am afraid, is what happens when you have everything you want for 100+ years, it becomes the norm.
Then, even fair-handed treatment becomes an outrage, because in RELATIVE terms, it IS harsher than what you’re used to, but only relative to treatment you should never have benefited from in the first place. The authorities do bear some guilt here; they indulged the spoilt brat for over a century (arguably still do), and thus it is expected, new club or old.
Anyway, back to the Big Two. I don’t give us much hope I’m afraid, but then I am a miserable sod. We are clearly better than the rest, but still a good bit behind Celtic. It would be nice to keep up a bit longer and have some genuine interest going into the last couple of months of the season, but 0-2 is how I see it tonight.
Sports Direct’s Timmy Bear with Rangers logo raises some succulent questions. For example:
How much of the £9.00 (reduced from £9.99) do Rangers get after King shafted Ashley negotiating the merchandise deal?
Does Sports Direct still have sole discretion to use Rangers’ logos and IP post-shafting? It would appear so – or maybe the RIFC board approved this usage – every little helps.
Did Ashley miss a trick – £16.90 (reduced from £20.12)

I think you will find that Sevco are subject to discriminatory treatment from the SFA. Albeit in a positive way.
Phil; did I just read this correctly. The GASL himself is paying for the High Level guff being produced?
Exactly
Phil …I was shown a copy of the original statement…
It went like this….
To whoever iz responsable at the SFA …

See ye in Court ..ya shower o’ middens.
The PR Guru and his employer clearly sense that the mob is becoming restless and noticing the distinct lack of “bread and circuses”. Or more precisely, the lack of progres in competitions, the lack of football quality, the lack of squad investment, the lack of fiscal competence and the lack of any good news of any description. When the mob is only soothed by preposterous accusations of the SFA’s Fenian-handed bias then you know the mob could flip at any moment and turn very nasty – as they realise who is orchestrating the destruction of their club and superiority sub-culture.
King really ought to be over-investing in PR that clears him of all blame before the mob flips, because he is currently front and centre as the focus for bear blame and recriminations – even before the TPE judgement and its fallout. And even before the long awaited audited accounts.
The Three Bears are wisely hiding in the woods and hoping the mob will pass them by peacefully, once they have a new hate victim to keep them busy.
