The colour dignity

It is certainly quite a sight to see Senhor Caixinha immersing himself in the Ibrox kulchurr.

I’m told that he took his ideas on boots and slogans to the Serious Professional and other members of the Sevco High Command.

The idea that one of his Galacticos would wear anything green was anathema to him

I think it is fair to say that they saw problems from the get go.

Firstly, he was told that individual players might have boot deals and the colour scheme of their footwear might not be up for negotiation.

When it came to adorning the dressing rooms at Ibrox with unsurpassed dignity I’m told that the Serious Professional stated that it was something that the club “wanted to get away from”.

However, Senhor Caixinha would not be dissuaded from his Churchillian course of action.

My information is that he might have been prodded into this course of action by a dignified advisor.

This chap is known to The People for his eloquent sophistry at times of crisis.

Indeed, I understand that  Senhor Caixinha also had the full support of his offshore chairman in this matter.

Of course, across the city what is important is what the player does while wearing his boots.

The colour of the footwear doesn’t come into the equation.

For the avoidance of doubt, all that the Sevco supremo has to do now is to get his new charges to win lots and lots of football matches in the coming season.

When he faces up to Brendan Rodgers and the Bhoys he might well have greater worries than the colour of the boots his guys are wearing.

  1. Their is an amnesia plague affecting The People, especially in relation to that nice Mr Whyte.
Don’t they realise that if the Motherwell billionaire had not held back VAT, PAYE and NI payments then the circus would have folded 6 months earlier.

  2. HI Phil,

They will never learn.I think Pedro would have earned more respect and credence if he declined the advice to pander to the masses. You wonder who in Sevcoland holds sway in terms of the party line.I reckon it shows a sign of weakness mentally when Pedro does not have the belief in his own and his recent acquisitions to win the games that will get the Sevco fans 0n side. They don’t care where the money comes from and surprisingly they don’t care if the players are bead rattlers and good living catholics.until it goes tits up.They wont come close as we continue to dominate domestically and if a reasonably kind draw unfolds I believe the hoops fans will be happy with European progression.Ten in a row does me.Apologies for the blinkered point of you but what hurts them pleases me.

  3. This phrase, “We Are The People” baffles me.

What does it actually mean? Please, anyone, if you can help then do enlighten me because I really haven’t got a clue.

If Rangers, for example, are ‘The People’, then what are the rest of us – non-people? Or are they celebrating their sub-culture as being part of the overall make-up of the human race?

It’s a phrase I find perplexing and ambiguous so if someone can point me in the right direction I will be very grateful.

As for the boots, I couldn’t care less if my team wore wellies or Dr Martens, as long as they win.

  4. Michael Gannon’s take on Pedro’s initiatives from todays DR online….

“Good on him, there’s nothing wrong with using daft little symbolic gestures to create a them and us mentality. Pedro is just helping create an enemy narrative for his foreign recruits”.

  5. The Dorrans saga goes on and on. Norwich claiming that a lowball offer has been made but the Rangers facing media has talked the sum up to £1.3m, plus add ons. That will be the usual CL group stage qualification and the transfer fee spread over the length of the players contract.
With King giving the game away on the new £1.5m loan in June why is no one questioning the need for additional monies when the bank balance is at it’s peak with record ST revenues.
Something doesn’t add up…….was a one of payment required to keep SD, Puma or 32 Red on board?
It’s all very strange and not a single scribe has dared asked the question……probably too busy working on their time to move on pieces post Supreme Court verdict.
I’ve seen a couple of posts questioning the validity of Wallace and Wilson UEFA registrations. Something to do with time spent with Oldco and Newco rolled up to qualify them as one of their own.
    Anyone explain?

  6. I believe that golf is also JimmyBoo being banned amongst the playing squad as they’re forbidden from standing on anything called a green.

  7. I think you are being unfair on Pedro.

He is only trying to do what immigrants to the UK are often criticised for not doing, assimilate.

He’s making an effort to adapt to his “quintessentially British” environment.

You can’t knock the guy for that.

  9. You have to wonder who is advising him.
Is he daft enough to fall for the “let’s have an orange strip in honour of eh eh eh the halftime orange”. Now tell me more about that Kentucky Blue Grass.

  10. You’d think they’d show some gratitude to the man who formed them a club to work at and daubed ‘GREEN! GREEN! GREEN!’ all over the walls instead.

    But that’s ‘grazi’tude for ye …

    • Don’t forget Craigy Bhoy, it was his company, Sevco 5088, that Charlie Chuckles sneakily switcherooed to form the current basket of asses we see so hilariously dance before us today, Sevco Scotland masquerading as OPD Rangers.

Thus, in respect to their founding fathers, the home dressing room should read ‘Green! Green! Green!’ and the away dressing room ‘Whyte! Whyte! Whyte!’

This would not only reflect better the local colour scheme, it would also be a factual acknowledgment and confirmation of their recognition of the current state of affairs both on and off the park in their eternal duel with the club they both ‘despise’ and, paradoxically, can’t stop thinking about.

And I suppose it’s just like the Hair Bear Bunch to show respect to no one, not even their own founding fathers, who actually worked to give them a club*, of sorts, to support after the doped up death of Diddledum Daddy.

Sorry, Phil, can I write ‘Confirmation’?

No offence meant to any lurking Sevvies out there …

  11. Oh well……The Celtic good times couldn’t last forever. No more 5:1 drubbings of half the best squad in Scotland this year then. The grass truly is bluer on the other side!
