The problem with boasting about how much money you have is that someone might actually believe you.
It is clear that the optics of the season ticket push is that everything in the financial garden is rosy at Sevco.
Of, course it is given that The People will believe this to be so.
The trouble arises when someone else thinks it is true.
I’m told that initially, HJK Helsinki would not have been that difficult to deal with over Alfredo Morelos.
However, all the high-Level gushing about the big money being splashed convinced the Finnish club to dig their heels in.
My information is that the “undisclosed fee” also included a substantial sell on clause for the Scandinavian club.
Overall I understand that Sevco had to part with over £700k for the Colombian kid.
I suppose it was just as well that they received £750k for Mr Garner.
Sadly Preston North End want £500k of that as the last instalment on the striker was due about now.
I’m told that Joey took a cut in wages to go to Ipswich Town.
Perhaps that wait in the A&E convinced him that money isn’t everything.
Now here is a little assistance for the stenographers who are looking in.
At the next presser ask Pedro the following question:
Are you aware that a senior professional in your squad has recently set up a WhatsApp group for only SOME of his teammates?
Moreover, I’ve heard that you have to pass the “been here a while” test to get into that exclusive social media conclave.
Dear reader, this could be an award-winning scenario for some intrepid chap.
All that needs to happen is for them to work out the identity of this senior professional and get him to stand up the story.
It really is quite simple.
Firstly, is there a WhatsApp Group?
If so, is it only for players who were there last season?
Of course, alternatively, the stenographers might just get in touch with their high-Level sources to regurgitate some more feel-good fantasy about Sevco.

You won’t get any of that here.
That’s a promise.

Was their debt not in the region of 18 mill. And losses down to 500k per month prior to the dawn of Pedro and the nacho sisters??????
Others have cast doubt on the fee to bring Garner to Scotland in the 1st place. What’s your info on this particular point Phil?
It’s a sad reflection on certain sections of society when the timing of a football match is being dictated to by the annual bigot fest.
Celtic must surely refrain from accepting any ticket allocation and advise their fans not to attend.
That will send a strong message.
just a thought
if they are putting their lot on a return from a good European run in the Europa cup could someone please give a guesstimate how much a run right through to the final would bring in.
leaving aside the add on income from entry into the group stages of the champions league the following season . and yes I do realise I went too far there.
According to yesterday’s ET (I found a discarded copy on the train) up to 14 players could “be moved on” in Pedro’s purge.
Yes, it really is as simple as that. Pedro says “You don’t fit in to my plans for next season, find another club” and the player in question duly obliges and f***s o*f.
It is Rangers* after all, normal rules do not apply……in any sense.
PS: Pedro managed to shoehorn in “huge club” “145 years of history” “most successful club in world football”, Yada,yada,yada…..
English may not be his first language, however, ten out of ten for getting his lines right when in front of a microphone or camera.
Whatsapp for 1 half of the dressing room.
What he have ‘ere is your classic split dressing room.
They never tends to end well.
Going for fourth.
Weren’t they in trouble struggling to keep the lights on at the tail end of the season?
It certainly doesn’t seem to be that dire now.
Oh dear William, you haven’t been paying attention.
Have you?
It’s easy to have the optics of wealth when you’re blowing the season ticket money in the hope of a European run.
It fools some, but not others…
It’s the equivalent of blowing the wage packet in the first week and living on beans and toast for the next 3 weeks. Presuming you can still pay the mortgage after that…
I knew a guy who had a low paying job but used to spend loads of money on designer clothes. Ended up he could hardly ever afford to go out and was the best dressed guy in his own living room. When he did get out he was a round dodger and always on the tap. Still he managed to fool some of the more gullible lassies with promises of overinvestment and big plans for the future….
It runs out you can fool all of the ‘peepul’ all of the time… ?
Robbing Peter to pay Paul.
Or robbing Pedro to play ball.
Thanks again, Phil.
I have no idea how WhatsApp works but presumably it’s a kind of social media platform. If so, then the recruitment strategy of Caixinha (drafting a bunch of guys he’s going to be reliant on) probably made some sort of defensive effort among Warbiola stalwarts inevitable. After all, part of the remuneration packages is likely to be appearance money, and the newbies could be depressing the bottom line for some, at least, of said stalwarts.
Expensive bOOsting.. £1m for Garner ffs, plus maybe £5m spent on some other unheard of talent. Sevco fans loving it, they will be booing them and manager by xmas… Just don’t rate Pedro. As a Dundee manager maybe, but he and his cavalleiros won’t cut the muster imo.
Predictions Phil my good man……. Football ones. Broonie will have his best season ever and Dembele will pop 35-40 goals away and all of Europe will want that young man.. Manyoo £55-60m after next season.
After next season we will receive bids in excess of £20m each for Rogic, Armstrong and Tierney.
That’s the BR effect. A great coach will get the best out of every player (or they move on).
Reminiscent of the Little General having a get together at Cameron House to heal rifts between the Dutch and Scottish players.
After it broke up one of the Scottish players had to return, as he’d forgotten something, to be met by a surprised Advocatt and the Dutch players.
I don’t know where you get all this from phil, stories and and bits of info.
If I wasn’t so confused I’d have thought you were a journalist.
Until then il keep myself up to date on Scottish football via the experts, didn’t you know rangers were taken over by a billionaire?…….
come on phil keep up(!)
Dear Phil whatever happened to the cold shoulder, ffp to stop them getting into Europe, where is the money coming from, no mention of soft loans anymore, signings from everywhere
Something stinks,
Could this mysterious senior player, be Deep Scrote ? Only asking like.
Deep creosote?
