The Sevco High Command received TWO emails from Glasgow City Council today apropos Ibrox Stadium.
One of these communications was to inform the Holding Company Vehicle that they had given me information under the appropriate legislation.
The other email was asking for further technical data on the state of the stadium that John Brown played for.
I’m told that chaps in the Blue Room were very unsettled by the news that these public servants had disclosed some important scéal to me.
Apparently, the Sevco High Command are concerned at what I will glean from the heavily redacted material.
Moreover, they’re also concerned about what I will ask for NEXT.
Developing investigation…

They were told the capacity was too high for wooden terracing in 1902, they ignored it and 25 people died. They were told stairway 13 was unsafe in 1963 and they ignored it, 66 people died 8 years later because the necessary work wasn’t done. Now there are serious concerns over the roofs of 3 stands and they are ignoring it. I am a Celtic fan but I don’t want anybody to die because they want to see their team play regardless of who they support. If the concerns are real, which I have no reason to doubt, the council have an obligation to investigate regardless of information , or lack of such, sent from the club. GCC are not doing themselves any favours by waiting for a response.
John Brown played for a stadium? Was it a testimonial? GF44
I wonder will the attitude of GCC change with an SNP led administration Phil.
Another kick in the sore place from the second most important institution in Scotland:

I look forward to the Sevco comedy next year, the company that used to play out of Ibrox and now plays out of fir park.
The perfect storm is approaching Ibrox and it will not just take the roofs off but will tear the club apart.
Given the amount of coverage this matter has now received, with your own coverage leading the way, surely issues of criminal liability would now be raised in the event – God forbid – of an actual accident or disaster taking place?
Small wonder the people involved in this cover-up are redacting their names from correspondence.
Well we were promised transparency. Although I not sure this is what their crook of chairman had in mind ….
Trial reports Rangers(1872) could not gain consumer credit licence because of a director… which one? Developing story…..
You requested this information and they refused and gave their, ahem, reasons.
You appealed and they then sent it to you.
Is it fair to conclude that they did not have sufficient grounds to deny your FOI request in the first place?
What, if anything, changed?
Phil
Firstly, great work and persistence on your part. Secondly, these communications from GCC are absolute dynamite and their gravity cannot be understated.
I do not blindly ascribe to the assertion that says “if you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to fear”, but on this occasion, the board of any Holding Company Vehicle has a duty to allay fears that have been raised officially, by an independent Public body.
Keep up the good work.
If there is nothing to hide, why the secrecy and the apparent attempts to bury the truth?
The only thing that should have been redacted in reply to the FOI enquiry, at best, should have been information around quotes or estimates for repair costs.
The Council are dragging this out and as a consequence are putting themselves in the firing line.
If a safety certificate has been issued whilst ongoing issues have not been addressed then those responsible should be called to account.
From what we have seen Rangers have a safety certificate despite GDC having outstanding issues and unanswered questions……..that’s not the way it’s supposed to work, especially when the safety of spectators should be the number one priority and not forgetting the tragic events which have occurred previously in the stadium.
This is definitely TICK TOCK. The groans from the fans aka, the realisation that things ain’t well is dawning on them. Having regaled all this info to a bear whom I work beside, his reply was “we’re the rangers and somebody will save us.”
I told him “nobody saved you in 2012, you were liquidated and died.”
To this he muttered “shite” got up and walked away.
The thrush is not palatable among the orcs
Keep up the good work, Phil.
Keep digging……..

Every single TRFC fan and fans of other clubs that attend Ibrox Stadium owes you a debt of gratitude.
This is serious stuff and a genuine comment.
RIFC Shareholders and TRFC fans should have been all over this in the public domain themselves.
They are a let down to themselves with their culture of silence and not challenging their Chairman and Board. Even on safety. I suspect a culture of intimidation and fear prevails keeping honest men of integrity silent.
Please keep at this issue. You may save people from injury or even save their lives. If it transpires that everything is technically sound, then that’s fine also and people can feel rest assured that a thorough process of investigation has taken place.
Is that yes to the question posed to the previous poster, or just YESSS!!!!!!
Phil, you’re on fire just now, one oooft quickly follow followed by another
just like the famous hoops on the park, smashing the ball into the sevco net over and over
this is what it feels to be celtic..!!
I’m sure there’s a name for this kind of thing….I think it’s called Journalism. You put a hell of a lot of spineless lackeys to shame. The few with a brain could’ve really made a name for themselves if they’d had the guts to chase one of the many many scandalous stories emanating from the decaying carcasses of the Ibrox clubs over the past decade.
They love you don’t they lol
And what are the MSM doing ? Running 20th anniversary guff about the second Scottish club to win nine in a row !!
Naw mate, that’s the ET, no self respecting journalists would admit to working there.
Actually I think it’s hilarious that the 20th anniversary of 9 IAR is been celebrated in the same month of Celtic’s ground breaking achievement in Lisbon.
If this is the best the media can do then bring it on.
Will the 9 IAR anniversary be the cornerstone of next season’s Going For 55 ST pitch?
It’s just crap to fill up newspaper columns and make Rangers fans feel important and better about themselves. It’s not been a very good week for those of a blue persuasion.
Meanwhile in the real world Celtic and Brendan go marching on with a treble in sight plus an undefeated domestic campaign within touching distance.
Let’s sit back and lap up the next few weeks as the various court cases play out and Pedro discovers how difficult it is to move on well paid players with long contracts before he can bring in his top targets using King’s promised warchest.
He will have an insight into the Portuguese market through his own contracts plus, his agent,Pedro Mendes will have a few of his clients that he would be happy to recommend.
More power to your elbow. Keep digging.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
3-0 to Phil and it’s not even half time yet.
Can’t wait for the rest of this developing chicanery to untangle itself.
I’ve a feeling it will be more than safety nets they’re needing.
Is it normal practice to inform people/organisations that an FOI has been received and info sent to a third party?
Yes
