A son’s lament

Family disputes are always the most upsetting.

Therefore,  the following makes for difficult reading.

Here, Mr Struth’s Son outlines in some detail his selfless devotion to the Sevco cause.

A central theme of great literature is the opportunity granted to the main character to seize a second chance.

Having watched his club die in 2012, he was determined not to see the same fate befall his beloved basket of assets.

I made the observation in Downfall that the multitudes who wrecked Manchester in 2008 were posted missing in 2011 and 2012.

To compare and contrast their angry non-intervention with that of the Jambos is telling.

The Maroon crew saved their club.

However, The People did not.

The more sentient among the home crowd at Ibrox will know this, but they can’t face it.

Now The People are in denial mode about the likely consequences of what will now unfold after the share offer deadline yesterday.

If Mr David Cunningham King remains connected to the Holding Company vehicle, then the contagion could be nasty.

Mr Struth’s son was an important ally in assisting the South African based entrepreneur to seize control of Sevco in the Off Licence Putsch of March 2015.

In the months ahead he may wish to consider the wisdom of that stance.

Perhaps he will write about it on Facebook.

That would be nice.

In the meantime, his new club remains a loss-making business without a credit line from a bank.

  2. Three things immediately jump out from this whimpering rant, and I’ll paraphrase (poetic license or so to speak)

    1) “the most used excuse for remaining anonymous online seems to be due to the users job but if you really are in such an important job that requirews your identity to be hidden then my advise (eh?) would be to remain offline. The world will still spin and no one will die if you refrain from going online” So to summarise, no clever comments from clever people. If you post you will die. This is not a threat we are dignified and talk to one another unlike those back stabbing directors who were seeking to prevent my self promoting interests. Non clever people would not have known otherwise

    2) I have never, ever, ever, ever taken money from SOS or Lionbrand. Not ever I tell you. But see at Christmas I needed a wee sub so I took money oot then but only because I was desperate. Did I pay it back I hear you ask? Well, I’m not going to ask that question as i might offend and solicit more truthful, NO. I mean nasty remarks on social media if I give the answer which everyone knows. (I’m thinking of changing the Lionbrand Website Slogan and captions in view of the financial assistance it gives me, when short….. “TAPS FOR TAPS”)

    3) I didn’t post online using another name. My mum was there when it got posted and she’ll tell you I didn’t do it. She was there the last time and she will tell you I didn’t do it then either. My mum is a lovely person like me, so there. Annnnnndddd she says I’m a handsome boy.

Excellent continued efforts, keeping all us clever people informed Phil. Thanks

  4. The workings of the city, share trading, take overs, South African criminals and bank credit lines or lack thereof are a mystery to me. If all this stuff leads to a termination of a football club playing in a stadium on the corner of Broomloan Road and Edmiston Drive then I am ok with it.

  5. Just picking up on your comments on the Jambos – not all will remember, but Rangers were not the only team to rampantly and wilfully ignore the rules, financial and footballing, in the period to 2012. Indeed, Hearts have a publicly-available list of creditors (from the Romanov time) that includes more than 100 organisations left unpaid, including the likes of Arbroath FC, Liverpool FC, Musselburgh Windsor FC, the Scottish Ambulance Service, Heriot Watt University (who they “rented” training facilities from – at no cost as it turned out – while more scrupulous football clubs paid money to build their own training facilities), and those unpaid by Hearts included the Lady Haig Poppy Fund and indeed Hearts own charity. There was a clear sporting advantage that arose from not paying for players (from Liverpoool etc) and in not paying for high quality training facilities, plus wilfully ignoring their asbestos ridden main stand at that moment in time.
So, perhaps no surprise that Hearts beat Celtic in the 2012 Scottish Cup semi and Hibs in the final with goals from players they couldn’t afford to pay (and were bumping charities, emergency services and local businesses to fund).

Less surprising still, since the financial doping tap was turned off in 2012, Hearts have exited the Scottish cup to Hibs (3 times) and Celtic (twice) as they are now seeing what living within their means actually looks like on the football fields of EH11.

This is not to deny your point (that the Hearts fans rallied round, saved their club, and had an impressive young team in 2014)

I write only to give some balance, that there was clear lack of sporting integrity in the decision making of both the Blue Room in Govan and the Archibald Leitch Main Stand at Tynecastle during this pre-2012 period. Now, there is an SFA blazer who served in both of those boardrooms in that period, but I wont name him as I wouldn’t want to end up in the Campbell’s soup, in the kitchen of my Ogilvy Home, now, would i?

    • Its impossible to make a late offer, he has been given ample time to get his finances in order. The deadline has now passed, he is currently cold shouldered. His only way out is to go cap in hand to takeover panel and set out an agreeable plan of action, if he hasn’t done this by now then i think he never will. In the mean time no one will touch him with a barge pole as they will also be given the same cold shoulder treatment for which there is no cure.
