Stabilising HMS Sevco

Apparently the stenographers will be fed some high-Level advice in the weeks to come.

The new narrative from the Sevco High Command will be that in year one of the regime they achieved promotion and in the second year they “stabilised” in the top level.

The third year will then see the assault on the top prize in the SPFL.

Apparently, The People are expected to forget the “going for 55” pish at the start of this season.

The entire PR strategy is based upon the collective amnesia of the Ibrox customer base.

In fairness, it seems to be a winning strategy as The People keep turning up to buy dignity flavoured shite.

However, this is the reality of that “stabilisation” process.

Celtic are 33 points in front of Sevco with a goal difference advantage of + 52.

I understand from an impeccable source that the Serious Professional was sent out over the top today to say that all was calm and ordered at the Holding Company Vehicle.

It wasn’t a hazardous mission as the stenographers greeted the officially approved good news with the customary Panglossian cheers.

Of course, the new Director of Fantasy will want to know that the board is not split and that the football department will be adequately funded.

Oh dear…

I was interested to hear that one senior member of staff at the Holding Company Vehicle recently remarked that he never fully appreciated how “on message” the local press were until he was put on the Ibrox payroll.

Indeed the chap stated that it was “only a couple of bloggers who are taking us on”.

I really can’t argue with that observation.

However, the message to go out is that everything has been “stabilised”.

So now we live in a Fitba universe where a loss making business without a credit line from a bank and facing potentially fatal litigation is a paragon of stability.

When you read of this uplifting narrative in the Off the Radar media in the coming weeks, remember the high –Level provenance of the spiel.

  1. Why any manager that was not fed up pottering about his shed or the wife has told to get out from under her feet would put their name forward for the thankless task that the sevco 2012 head coach gig is beyond me .

massive fan/msm expectation with zero budget
    a non existant scouting network
a 37 and 38 yr old backbone of your team
loans every month to pay the wages
    volunteers manning the stands
afraid to open your e-mails as it might contain your p45
As for the new leading contender ,I think the rest of the board misread TGSL e-mail
I think he wrote get me a good bullshitter
and the thought he said bull fighter

There’s a general feeling emerging within our support that the Club is in crisis, that standards have slipped and that we are heading for more turbulent times i.e. admin 2. Are people right to be worried? What reassurances can you offer in this regard, and is there an understanding that when worries go unaddressed, they turn to frustration and even anger? Fans are frustrated right now because they fear for their Club and don’t feel they are being heard.

My thoughts: How can the club go into Admin 2 it never came out of the first it went straight to liquidation. Ok so its a new club that may be in danger of going into Admin 2.

    Stewart Robertson
Stewart answered no to the first part of the question (i.e. are people right to be worried?). He said that the Club is not in crisis as some would have people believe, and that although he understands why people may be concerned in the current climate where bloggers publish smears and outright lies about our Club, there is no risk of Administration. He said that he understands also the point re worries going unaddressed and said it’s important that the Club strikes the correct balance between providing information to fans and protecting delicate negotiations that require confidentiality. He said that running a football Club is not a reality TV show, but that he gets it – Rangers could and should do more in terms of their communication. He referred to some minor errors mentioned by Club 1872 that may have caused confusion or frustration – for example a player turning out in a strip that did not bear the Club crest, and incorrect information being shared via the official Twitter account. These have been looked at and were genuine errors, and assurances have been provided that they will not be repeated. Stewart referred again to his personal and professional commitment to ensuring exceptional standards in all areas of the Club. Supporters should not be concerned that these errors in any way reflect a crisis at the Club.

My thoughts: So Robertson thinks there is no risk of club going into Admin, again is this an admittance of a new club has to be the old one died in liquidation due to not coming out of an admin.with a CVA or acceptance.

How can a club go into Admin they are not the same thing, arent they? This needs answered if someone could ask now if this is a mistake and get Robertson to confirm is the club new or is a club exempt from liquidation and admin.

  3. Scoop in press – (they beat u for once) – Green/Ashley awarded legal costs as Rangers fail to prosecute their claim against Green/Ashley for contracts being unfair…….!

£100,000 bill, as Rangers tried to change claim but could not afford to do that either….

but worth a post… for the inside scoop..

  4. The SFA are set to be involved in a discussion with FIFA about potential radical changes to the laws of the game. This means the size of the field of play, weight and size of the ball, size of the goalposts, duration of the match and maximum number of substitutes could be at the discretion of member associations such as the SFA outside of their professional league setup. SFA chief executive Stewart Regan said “We welcome FIFA catching up with the way we do things in Scottish football. For instance,we’ve had our own rules on the registration of players and what constitutes relegation and liqudation for years. We look foward to the discussion”.

    • Be nice if Stewart led the way in new technology being introduced in football….rugby has it for foul play, verifying if a try has been scored and a host of other parts of the game.

Tennis, cricket and others embrace the use of technology to get it right….but football? In Scotland?

I am sure there is a cricket club in the Wensleydale happy to use Stewart’s services….unpaid, of course.

  5. If we let Sevco and Hertz pull their points together, they would be 5 points ahead.
I wonder if the bookie would give me odds on Celtic beating their joint points by end of season.

  6. The purported Portuguese ‘new’ manager is a curious case. Making the big assumption it has any truth behind it (or maybe just a fabrication helped by one of his current playing staff – Weiss) would we expect any manager to show interest in taking a really significant drop in remuneration to take on a team who had just sacked the last management team, lying in the process. Has he done any homework.? Something stinks.!

I would be very surprised if this was anything but spin. Hoping there are denials coming soon much like the £6m for Barry nonsense.! Sevco will then revert to McLeish who will come in after the Celtic thrashing. Playing for time maybe, string the story out for another week.

    • Their fan forums have already drawn attention to his sexual orientation, religious beliefs….and, of course, ” he does not get” what is so special about the club playing out of Ibrox.

      Hopefully, he does now.

  7. Deliberately separated from my earlier post to avoid contamination.
SMSM…..You really have to ask, why on Earth do they bother? Likewise Sevco?
The latter has no spare cash and yet they appear to continue to throw what little they can get their hands on at the former, or at least, a pantomime horse’s arse character of the former who then proceeds to spray them with a combination of verbal and written diarrhoea for them to forward to a dwindling audience, in the hope of manipulating and manufacturing a feel good factor which is absolutely laughed out of the park.
Supporters of all other clubs will never accept the continuation lie. The more the SMSM push the hysterical nonsense that Rangers exist, the closer they get to commercial suicide.
Sevco followers, for reasons known only to themselves (or perhaps not) actually think the media is against them!
So, on the basis that they must know their output is ridiculed from all sides….why do they persist?
I can’t wait for them to die, just like their favourite team, and we don’t see any links to their pointless garbage anymore.
The fact that Phil can tell us days, weeks and even longer in advance what’s going to print really does highlight the nonsense of the existence of the rags.
Just like the nonsense of the existence of Rangers!
Good victory for big Mike and the gang v Sevco today. Even better to hear a judge state the Sevco case was a “waste of time”.
Ah well, a bit of Sevco consistency at last. It’s all just a waste of time!

    • To alter the King James Version just a little, the proverb applicable to both Sevco and the SMSM is 29:18

  9. The SFA are to negotiate at the FIFA conference for drastically smaller pitches so that Kenny Miller and Over the Hill can extend their playing careers to age 45 with Sevco.

The vision will see SPFL matches played on local sports centres indoor five a side courts.

Kenny said the fans deserve better, it’s not good enough and this is how we will improve the SPFL performances. (Knobble the game’s rules to close the gap to Celtic).

An SFA insider reportedly stated it’s a great Scottish initiative and hopefully the worlds governing body will have the vision to approve it.

A young reporter asked if Old tired slow legs caused career threatening injuries to young fast skillfull players. A baldy fat guy in a suit slapped him and bundled him out the door.

  13. What else can Rangers say in the circumstances?

“Stabilsing”” may be a very charitable description of the football, but certainly does not describe the finances or the prospects in court over the next few months.

if I was an ST buyer this season, I’d definitely be giving serious thought to paying at the gate for the start of next season – at least until Xmas – by which time this may look like a very shrewd move.

Support your club by all means – but keep your options open when it comes to supporting – with a big cash advance – a board that has lied to you, lied to you and lied to you again without the slightest twinge of embarrassment.

    • THE PROBLEM WITH SEASON TICKETS:

Once upon a time when the fanbase of a football club wasn’t happy with the decisions being made at their club, the fans could organize themselves and deprive the owners of their club, their main source of income by staying away from the games.

This forces the club to address the concerns of the fanbase.

Then along came the rise of the Season Ticket. This removed the immediacy of the protest and now only leaves one opportunity per season for fans to effect change – Season Ticket renewal time.

  14. Oh dear! Things were not “stabilised” at the court of Session today when the High Court Judge didn’t even bother with the Rangers International arguments calling it unnecessary and ordering them to pay Green and Ashley’s legal fees.

King &Co. costing the club with more of their folly. Green and Ashley pumped King today in a Scottish High Court. No more favours from the system. March has only just begun.

  15. Some sharp eyed Tims may have already noticed that if Celtic beat TRFC by 3 clear goals in the up and coming Glasgow “derby” then our goal difference to them will be +55. Also hammering into them the mathematical impossibility of them winning the league on the same day would make this game a real belter. ALl we need is a nice sunny Sunday afternoon with a record number of goals. 10 off has a nice twang to it. To round things off nicely an end of seaon GD of at least +67 would make it a truly remarkable season . Do your very best Mr. Rodgers.

Shame on the journalists who do not challenge the narrative. That isn’t the ship sinking, it’s a new pool we are installing. About time these fan groups stepped up to force some truth or are they meekly going to watch as a team called Rangers dies again. Shame on them if they are complicit in this cherade. At least you can hold your head up as one who speaks out Phil.

  17. The accounts for last year have to be submitted to obtain a club licence which, as a Premier League club, is subject to UEFA FFP rules and standards.

That info has to be presented by 31st March. It will be interesting to see on what basis and at what level a licence is granted and what information was submitted if one is.

    Reply
    • I am led to believe an informal discussion may have already taken place…with the sobering news they do not currently meet FFP to be granted a licence…

It certainly will be interesting Auldheid come end of season…

      Reply
    • Auldheid, given the SFA’S previous I would have no confidence whatsoever in them doing the right thing in any matter connected to the Ibrox club.
Years down the line and we don’t even know if the SPFL fine has ever been paid!
However the fact that the failure to comply with UEFA FFP criteria is already out there and in the public domain does give them a problem.
Will the 4th placed team in the SPFL, UEFA FFP compliant, stand aside as the SFA massage a non compliant team through the licence process?
If Celtic win the treble will the 5th placed team in the SPFL do likewise?
I think not, let the battle commenced.
If the accounts are not of the positive variety what’s the odds that they are not available at the 31st March and instead are made public on the 1st April, how fitting that would be.
