Today a senior officer from Strathclyde Police was in contact with prominent members of the Irish community.The police issued a warning to community activists in various Irish cultural and sporting organisations and asked them to “remain vigilant” because of the current circumstances. This action was taken, the people were told, because it is within the police protocols for dealing with such incidents.
Although not motivated by any specific intelligence the community activists were told that they were being contacted because their names had been mentioned on the same internet message boards and blogs that had named Trish Godman MSP.
