The Unbearable truth.

Denial is the default setting in humans when they are faced with very bad news.

Rangers supporters are also human.

The club’s midterm accounts are still unpublished.

It is a requirement of the SFA that they be published by March 31st.

Last year it was mid-February.

I am sure that it would have been the same in 2009 and before.

Accountants are notorious for working to rigorous schedules.

It is one of the things that define them as an occupational group?

Why then have they not been published?

Several on-side Scottish journalists were briefed last week that they would be published this Monday (14th March).

Still they are unpublished.

It would appear that the collective response from Rangers fans is something akin to:

“If one of them says there’s a problem at The Rangers then there isnae!”

This, of course, prevents the fans from asking pertinent questions of the people in charge of the club.

So if your heart is at Ibrox and you think that your club is in rude financial health, that there is about to be a takeover by Mr.Whyte, that the bank isn’t controlling the club, that there is no tax case looming which will put “The Rangers” into Administration and that there isn’t a dispute going on at boardroom level that is delaying these midterm accounts then my work is done.

All I have wielded is the truth.

It has been enough.
