Sevco unspun

The Sevco High Command responded to the court in an interesting way

They decided that they were not going to try and spin their way out of this one.

Even more, interestingly it was the Serious Professional that made this call.

My information is that STV got the tip first then it was also shared with the Daily Radar.

I understand that the costs awarded to Sports Direct alone are “north of fifty thousand pounds”.

If we can extrapolate that the costs will be similar for the other parties represented in court, then this is a large, unwelcome bill for Sevco.

Quite simply this was an embarrassing and expensive legal own goal that originated due to the hubris of one man.

A person who was once called by a judge a “glib and shameless liar”.

I think the Serious Professional was entirely correct to be upfront and honest about what had transpired in court.

However, I am aware that subsequently there was an angry telephone call from south of the Limpopo to a PR guru in a galaxy far far away.

I understand that the Dear Leader was not happy with this plain factual reporting.

Sadly the PR guru was not aware of this as the coverage had not emanated from that inter-galactic Level.

Oh dear.

I hope they can all still be friends.

Potential legal costs are now a major issue for the Holding Company Vehicle.

My information is that the Ibrox Three are seeking a payment that is in the region of £2.5m.

If they are successful, then the Admirable Warburton and his colleagues could also be awarded costs of around £500k

Do not forget that General Ashley, the man who the Daily Radar told us had experienced a door splintering event at Shirebrook, is looking for around £5m from Sevco.

Should these two court cases go against the Holding Company Vehicle then they will have to find monies equivalent to the current hole in their accounts.

However, I’m sure that none of these contingent possibilities will impact on the lavish budget that has been set aside for the new Director of Fantasy.

    • It was the Daily Record that broke the story so you better ask them or better still go to their boss, Jim Traynor, the most powerful man in Scottish football (laugh).

This whole thing smells of a bs story to get SEVCO TRFC highlighted in Qatar in the hope there’s a totally stupid Gas Sheikh into throwing away money and being laughed at for being stupid in the corporate world by touching Rangers (sic).

There’s not many of them in Qatar. None at all.

Desperation bs to keep the Gullibears ticking by. No doubt Traynor will release that negotiations fell through. Isn’t there a sports Hack in Scotland that can phone call Doha?

  1. Director of football ( more football debt) and New Manager (more football debt) – both aimed by King to rank up more debt….. so court case costs force admin or paying off king cost … either way he wins

  3. Operation stop the treble in full swing.

Two of the most blatant honest mistakes you will ever see made by the referee and both his linesman at Ibrox today.

The goalie picking up the ball off the toe of the Accies forward should have resulted in a red card and a free kick to Accies, with the linesman bang in line with the action and with an unrestricted view….but no, play on, no whistle.
As for Square Go Joe ‘ s assault on the Accies player, what can you say? A similar attack in the street would get you 6 months in the Bar L.
Beaton, again with a clear view, meandered over, made a show of talking to his linesman then showed Garner a yellow card.
It was unbelievable, as clear a sending off as you will ever see.
Will be no surprise if the referee supervisor gives Beaton top marks and he ends up getting the final!
Either one of these decisions should be the end of Beaton and his linesmen’s careers but two in the same match, blatant, out in the open, is nothing short of criminal.
Ffs even The Cardigan and McCann were aghast at what they had seen.

    • On tv news elbowing in English football went unpunished by the referee today. TV stated the FA can look at it and ban the players.

Will the SFA review the Referee Beaton horror show today and ban Sevco Players?

Fans of other clubs really ought to tell their chairmen they are sick of all the honest mistakes and home cup games awarded to certain clubs

  5. Was just wondering if the interview board whilst selling the Ibrox club to potential coaches or DOF mentioned the potential issue of a licence to play in Europe next season?
Can’t see a fully compliant Hearts and St Johnston meekly stand aside whilst Regan and his crew attempt to massage a non compliant club into Europa Cup qualifiers.

    • Why not?

They stood aside often enough in the past, tugging their forelocks in the process.

And, after today’s refereeing decisions at Ibrox, anything is possible.

That looked like as clear a display of who’s in charge right there, lest any of us were ever in any doubt of it.

It’s an outright disgrace yet no one ever does anything about it.

This sort of behaviour is tantamount to match rigging and STILL the clubs sit in dumb silence, something like 18 out of 20 home cup matches in a row for the new club, I’ve lost track now, there are so many, yet not a word from anyone, no Lawell, no Budge, no Milne, so why would they complain about the rigged UEFA licence, when they’re clearly rigging everything else?

    • Email the Portuguese guy and let him know the full horror story.

They are four times overspent using debt than UEFA FFP rules allow.

      • Aye, they’ve boxed up the game for one club since the 5 Way Agreement.

And it’s been boxed up more for them ever since.

  6. When can we expect to see Neil Patey on late night tv, alongside depressed sevco fans’groups’ spokepersons, highlighting the options open to sevco following an insolvency event??

Also, no sign of new dream team yet. I thought everything would be in place by now … (please be Bazza, please be Bazza).

Ps I note that Caixinha translates as “box” in Portuguese. Can we get any gags/puns out of that?

    Reply
    • I hope it’s the “case” that Caixinha gets a good “package” from the Sevco (card) board.
His first signing will be a box to box player. You know, someone that ticks all the boxes.
Second signing will be a diver.

  7. Hi Phil,
Do you think that there is any possibility that once Ashley destroys the current board, that he will invest his £50m-£100m as previously planned?
I also think the Easdale Brothers would be a part of these plans.
    I sincerely hope not!!

Mmmmmmmm (GLOATING) isn’t lovely basking in the sun and light of the righteous when those who deserve to be in the dark beyond the rights of the honest spin, spin and spin to convince themselves of the existence they defend as a divine moral right that has failed in every possible and conceivable way.

The best part of being a Fenian, is that we get to witness it while our beloved Glasgow Celtic goes for another league title and the possibility of being Invincibles doing the treble…

  10. With the holding company vehicle subsidiary engine room thingy starting to take stock of what it reasonably stands to lose. Is this the point where the door opens for His Mikeness to forego his day in court in the knowledge that The Glib and Shameless one will be thrown to the wolves by the 3 bears and allow MA to step in and fund the resurgence to get them back to ‘where they belong’?

    • Not being a sevco supporter I would be perfectly happy to see their self important, bigoted Billy boys behavior disappear for good, however, I believe that the Celtic support should be careful what they wish for, look what happened to the numbers attending Parkhead when the oldco disappeared and the newco were in the lower divisions. Much as I understand the fun that supporters of all clubs, especially Celtic get from the antics of Sevco, I do believe that Celtic need a form of Rangers, no matter how weak they may be, alongside them.
Just the view of a supporter of neither club.

  12. Hi Phil

Another great post – witty and incisive as always. Rather than just a one-off contribution to the upkeep of the site (which I am happy to make), is there any way of setting up a regular monthly payment? I think we all value the succulent lamb-free reporting on here and having a facility to make regular payments might help us to provide greater financial security for you to keep it going. Just a thought.

Anyway, hail hail and keep up the good work!

      • No Mr.Smith it most certainly is NOT,they have moved it to March this year, what with all these pending court cases there is much more mirth to be had this March, more so than in any usual run-of-the-mill Panto season.

And we all know who is playing the horses arse, although his Glibness certainly won’t be visible,I am reliably informed, that it most certainly IS him playing that role.Although reports of MASH playing the front of said horse may be wildly exaggerated.

Although,I can see that as a metaphor for the outcome of these court proceedings.
Brown nosing as it may be,it could prove to be his only escape from the wrath of Ashley’s Battalion of lawyers. He will almost certainly be out-gunned and out manoeuvred.

Thanks Phil,I hope this makes it through your rigorous scruntineering process.

HH and thanks for the update.
