The new Sevco regime has new rules for new media

“Emotion in business leads to bad decisions”.

I’m told that is a direct quote from a quintessentially British conclave on Planet Sevco that was held recently.

The person who made the statement is a senior functionary of the new regime.

This assertion was delivered to a fan media chap.

Frankly, they were told to forget any notion that they could be part of a collective effort against the Enlightened One.

Consequently, young Master Martin is there for the duration.

That’s because the Delaware Crew see their newly acquired British franchise as part of a medium to long-term project.

These members of the podcasting classes were informed that the basket of assets is at the start of a path to sustainability that may take at least FOUR transfer windows to address the legacy issues they inherited.

Essentially, some players will be impossible to shift and will have to be allowed to see out their generous contracts.

The senior Sevco functionaries also stated that part of the plan was to develop the academy and develop the best local talent.

Simultaneously, there would be an overhaul of the scouting network.

In many ways, they mirrored what  the Enlightened One had said in pressers:

There was going to be pain before any discernible gain.

Moreover, the budget had been set and would be adhered to regardless of any bumps in the road.

So they should forego any notion that they could, in any way, be instrumental in Martin leaving the club.

Obviously, that goes for those loveable rascals, the Union Bears, too.

I think it is fair to say that the old regime saw fan media as an important ally in manufacturing consent among the Ibrox klanbase.

The new guys are clearly NOT of that view.

This was underscored when the Blue Room guys stated that they fully supported the head coach regarding the Raskin situation.

There are new sheriffs in town, that’s for sure, and Russell Martin is their guy.

For the avoidance of doubt, dear reader, with those guys, it’s about the dollars.

Always the dollars.

  1. When you look at the statements and comments of the union bears and most of the rangers podcasts, they really are delusional, not to mention contradictory. They say that the appointment of the new manager is solely down to the Ceo.

If they think that managerial appointments are made by one person they are barking up the wrong tree entirely. They also say that the club needs managerial stability whilst calling for the managers head. Make that make sense for fs.

The takeover has not gone the way they thought it would and they are now throwing the toys out of the pram in a huff. I hope things carry on the way they are for as long as possible HH

  2. “The new owners must act quickly and decisively. If they do not, they will leave the support with no option but to act.”
What exactly does this mean? Boycott matches? Stage protests? Or maybe it means that since we are approaching the pantomime season then they will be available for auditions.
