Buíochas ó an Phalaistín

I have just received the following message from the mighty folk at GAA Palestine.

 Phil, a chara.

We at GAA Palestine want to give you and your generous readers, and those who kindly donated GAA equipment to Palestine from Dún na nGall a massive go raibh míle maith agat a chairde.

As soon as they arrived, the kits, hurls, and sliotars were grabbed and used, and the children were practising the game they called “The Freedom Sport.”

The children and the coaches have already shown remarkable progress in a very short time.

Previously, they had only a handful of hurls to use.
Now, each child can train with one because of the equipment that you sent.
The children and the adults send their heartfelt thanks and blessings.
They’re training hard.
We will be bringing over thirty of the children with ten adults this July to play against teams in Derry, Cork and Dublin.
Your contributions are part of what makes this possible.
We will update you on all events as they present themselves, but get ready for the Palestinian tour of Ireland by the Moataz Sassour Club!

Go raibh maith agat!

It is probably no coincidence that the donations to their GoFundMe shot up after the last piece here.

I want to express my personal gratitude to those of you who helped to finance “The Freedom Sport” in the West Bank.

  1. I stood with legend Tommy McKearney in Dublin at the national march for Palestine in Dublin on Saturday. The Palestine GAA folks wanted a photo with Tommy holding their flag. 🇮🇪💚🇵🇸
