The identity of the referee that Alan Stubbs referenced has been the subject of much online speculation.
This came up in a discussion of what ex-whistler Mike Dean had said about the games he officiated at Old Trafford.
Back then, Manchester United, under Alex Ferguson, was a juggernaut.
Before the Glazers acquired the club, it looked like their dominance would never end.
The teams that Ferguson built swarmed all over their opponents and were usually to be found in and around the penalty box.
Consequently, there was the opportunity for genuine penalties to be awarded.
However, that is not what Alan Stubbs was talking about.
For the avoidance of doubt, no comparison between the Old Trafford club and the FA resembles how Rainjurrz men have disproportionately been found at the SFA for generations.
Similarly, I cannot imagine any situation in England that could equate to what happened for Mr Hugh Dallas, as head of refereeing development.

Here he is, explaining the awful misunderstanding that led to him being canned.
The poor chap.
Another aspect of Planet Fitba that has no equivalent in England is the succulent obedience of the Stenography Corps.
Indeed, it would not have taken a freelance journalist in another country to break the story that did for Dallas Snr in 2010.
In another country…
As I have repeatedly stated, it takes outsiders to point out the obvious truth about Planet Fitba.

Unlike against PSV, the home side at Ibrox can once more look forward to that baffling Anomaly being in play again.
For the record, I believe that Alan Stubbs was telling the truth about the interaction with the referee.
I’m also sure he won’t be asked about the revelation by anyone working in sports journalism in Scotland.

I’m getting on a bit, and the memory isnae what it once was, but I’m sure Brian McGinley is on record somewhere saying that as former referee the proudest aspect of his career was that he refereed many “OF” (sic) games and “… the Fenian B******s never won any.”
That’s not true as he was the ref at 4~2 game at ibrox when dundee utd won the league.
Alan Stubbs is only confirming what we already know about dodgy officialdom here. The past/present Ibrox institution have been given every advantage. You couldn’t estimate how many trophies they’ve accumulated unfairly. But it’s too many.
Classic matinee that, Silence of the Bams
Would the five way agreement that helped sevco resurrect like lazarus have anything to do with the silence from the celtic boardroom!!!
Almost certainly that would be YES. Hamstrung by its own duplicity.
When we think back over a game , it’s the big decision’ s that get discussed.( obviously).
There are other ways, the masons in black function….
Wave play on when huns gain possession. Lol ! Daizen !
No advantage played when Celtic in promising attack.
Phantom fouls esp at corners.
Phantom fouls… .period.
Talking to player when it’s a yellow ( slows play down also).
Failure to 2nd yellow for persistent fouling.
Foul throw in…Liam Scales only player penilised for stealing too may yards.(madden).
Defensive wall- maximum 8yrds for us, 11 minimum for Tavpen.
Okay I might be OTT but I prefer the word thorough.
Willie Wallace said Celtic were refereed to a different standards the 70s and I believe its worse now and its orchestrated.
Foreign refs required.
Said that some time ago. But it was, accurately, pointed out to me that it would need to be Refs, assistant refs, fourth officials and VAR men.
What legal reasons ? If the accused took legal action they would be opening up to wider scrutiny and that would be avoided at all costs.
Recollection and familiarity held by beliefs is important to be addressed.
Fortune favours the Board.
These staunchtistical anomalies don’t matter if we are good enough. Trouble is we’re clearly not. Phil recently called out The Grey Brigade’s lack of action, surely the board have a fiduciary duty to ensure every team in Scotland is refereed without fear or favour. PS Considering the medical history of Alan Stubbs, that first post is super inappropriate
I have always said that if we were to lose a game I’d rather lose it to foreign refereeing mistakes than to lose to those cheating Sevco supporting *******!
Surely these comments by Stubbs must be investigated?
And why did he not have the balls to bring this up at the time?
Maybe we would be further down the line in calling these cheats out and have them under greater scrutiny by the powers that be if he had.
This cannot be left to lie and nothing done about it.
Is the Celtic hierarchy aware of the Stubbs comments?
If they are, what are they going to do about it?
We have been cheated and one of our players was made aware of it by the cheat himself!
Name him Stubbs or remain a coward!!!
So Alan Stubbs is a coward while you remain heroically anonymous?
Self-awareness clearly isn’t your strength.
Whoever you are…
Obviously Alan Stubbs can’t name this cheat for legal reasons, but we are all Alan Stubbs, Neil Lennon and, Brendan Rodgers. This will always be our wall😪
“And why did he not have the balls to bring this up at the time?”
He may lack self-awareness but that’s a world class faux pas. Alan Stubbs of course is a brave survivor of testicular cancer.
