A loan again, naturally

It would appear that  Mr Beale has recently had something of a Damascene conversion to bolstering his squad with loan players.

I’m sure it has nothing to do with a lack of funds.

However, I will allow myself this opportunity to point out to regular readers that your humble correspondent predicted this was precisely the type of business that would happen during this transfer window.

As always, with the basket of assets, we must follow follow the money.

I’m sure that Abdallah Sima will be a huge success as he takes to the field in the traditional Norwegian Blue of Sevco.

Certainly, the Worshipful Society of Stenographers will do their on-the-level best to convince the Ibrox klanbase that the lad is a star.

And yet and yet, he’s still a loan player, and that suggests to me transfer funds are meagre at Sevco.

Indeed,at this stage, I wouldn’t even be surprised if Mr Beale is talking to Bayern again!

Across the city, we really are comparing night with day.

I’m told that Brendan is currently interested in an EPL-based centre back.

If the deal is concluded, it would be a club record fee.

The reports from Saudi Arabia linking  João Pedro Neves Filipe with Al-Ittihad are, if accurate, just the player trading model working perfectly.

Undoubtedly, his countryman Nuno Espírito Santo who manages that club, will know all about the ex-Benfica jogador.

Benfica has a substantial sell-on clause in the winger’s contract with Celtic.

Obviously, that will have a bearing on the negotiated fee if this goes through.

As I have previously stated, the Hoops cannot possibly win the Close Season Cup.

They just have millions to spend on players.

  1. João Felipe Silva Estevam Aguiar (born 24 June 2001) is a Brazilian footballer who plays as forward. He is currently free agent.
Is this in fact the player referenced in the Daily Ranger? Is this the player that Michael Gannon @ the Daily Ranger or a Sun journo getting facts mixed up or flying a kite in order to create a furore within Celtic?
It all seems a bit out of the BLUE & left field that a move to Saudi Arabia for Jota would probably end any aspirations Jota would have of any international honours with Portugal.

  2. Thanks for the earworm Phil.
Gilbert O’Sullivan’s classic running through my head all day.
    Naturally.
I hope it doesn’t become tainted by association.

  3. I am sure the player they are talking about is not Jota but a similarly named player from Brazil who plays for Corinthians.

  4. Hat tip to your title. Methinks a reference to the Blues Brothers film and the legend Ray Charles pawn shop scene. Keep up the good work. HH

  5. When we punted sevco out of the Scottish Cup in April,
THAT was the wake up call for the bears:
that was the best Ibrox squad they would see for possibly years,
and yet they still won nothing.
On paper anyway, next season ‘should’ be disappointing again for the Ibrox club,
both on and off the field.
The only glimmer of hope they might have is if BR has an ‘Ange-like’ wobble
either at the start of the season, or around a Glasgow derby cup meeting?
If I was a bear… I’d consider going into hibernation early…before the season kicks off?!

  7. “A few details…….. with the club.”

My understanding of the process is that an offer is made to the club. If it is acceptable, or can be negotiated to be acceptable, the player is informed. If the player is amenable to a move, the clubs negotiate the deal to their mutual satisfaction. At THAT point the player is given permission to speak to the club and negotiate personal terms.

I’m just a wee bit sceptical about this one.

I hope I’m right. He WOULD be very difficult to replace. He’s a fabulous footballer.
