There is no need to construct any conspiracy theory around this latest news from the glib and shameless universe of Mr Dave.

Quite simply, the quintessentially British types in Club 1872 almost certainly do not have the money to execute his cunning plan.
Indeed, one Blue Room chap recently suggested that they might only have a few thousand quid remaining in their account.
If that is correct, then the Club 1872 folk couldn’t even give Dave one 1 p per share.
For the avoidance of doubt, he was hoping for substantially more.
With Club 1872 off the field of play, Mr King lost his leverage in his conflict with his erstwhile colleagues in the Blue Room.
The Sevco High Command would probably buy Dave’s shares if they had the money.
However, like Club 1872, they don’t.
The brethren in the Blue Room have more pressing issues than their ex-chairman.
Firstly they will have some explaining to do with UEFA apropos the recent share confetti.

Within the spirit of “it is better to ask for forgiveness than permission”, the organisation in Switzerland will have to decide whether or not they sanction the Ibrox club for this.
It is undeniable that the favoured franchise does not have the same cultural heft in Nyon as they do at Hampden.
As I have previously reported, the Serious Professional recently reminded the Sevco High Command at a dignified sit-down that FSR was a new reality.
The beautiful minds in the Ibrox klanbase will see some dark deep state conspiracy against their beloved Sevco.

Actually, the reality is more prosaic.
UEFA don’t want the disruption of financially incontinent clubs going out of business and the influence of over-mighty subjects, the state-owned clubs bending the game out of shape.
Within the scheme of things, Dave’s personal financial issues are rather off the radar.

Wonder how long it’ll take the Scottish press to link Ange with Sturgeon’s job!
A guy who teaches sevco academy lads to referee the Cup Final, and a guy with a sevco supporters club named after him as VAR official. WHY do the Celtic Board sit back and accept this. We’ll probably have someone sent off when they’re doing the pre-match boot check.
Penny shares for the penny arcade mob….
Confetti F.C. needing money on a regular basis to keep the lights on but how long can this go on for?
I suppose once a gullibilly, always a gullibilly. HH
When a cheat cheats and gets away with it then they are emboldened and they cheat more and will keep on cheating until held to account. It was ultimately their accounts which held them to account in 2012 but now there is an extra pair of eyes on them rather than the myopic short sighted 2nd cousin that usually watches yet their addiction to double dealing is proving a hard habit to break . I’m now googling cheaters anonymous to see if there is a helpline available to them
I have no doubt that Rangers will be facing consequences of breaching FFP or financial sustainability regulations, but I don’t think it’ll have anything to do with this share issue. UEFA takes their mandate seriously, and they’ll punish clubs appropriately for any breaches in the rules. However there’s no rule against issuing confetti to shareholders. And even if there was, this 4.2m shares equates to £1.05m of fresh confetti. This is rounding error in the grand scheme of things.
UEFA won’t look at figures. They’ll look at percentages of overall incomes. That single transaction would be in the general direction of 1.3% of sevco’s turnover for last season. Whereas it would be under 0.2% for Man City.
Before anyone jumps in, I’m not getting involved in a Man City discussion. I know absolutely zilch about the situation they now find themselves in……… anyway I was in the house all night when it happened.
Another batch of worthless shares needed to pay some bill. Are they still paying HMRC monthly for tax owed during the COVID pandemic Phil and would uefa look into that also to make sure this lot aren’t going down the same road as the Deadco?
Odds on it covers a down payment on their latest superstar signing 🙂
