Apparently, he isn’t the Messiah after all

It seems a very long time since Sevco stole the show with Aaron Ramsey on transfer headline day.

Sadly, I’m now hearing that the extent of Mr Ramsey’s physical fragility has shocked Mr Giovanni et al.

When asked about the loan player’s fitness the Dutchman stated that “I don’t think he is quite ready.”

Well “I don’t think he is quite ready” is doing a lot of heavy lifting there!

Now, I hope the usual succulent suspects aren’t ordered to start a whispering campaign against the Welsh international.

That wouldn’t be a good look at all.

Of course, we can look at the public data and count just how many minutes he actually plays during this truncated spell with the basket of assets.

For the avoidance of doubt, there isn’t anything wrong with him being an impact substitute.

That said, those chaps tend to come off the bench and score goals and do fancy stuff like that.

Moreover, it might all work out well enough in the end.

Juventus will be hoping to be able to cobble together a  Sevco highlight reel to show the footie marketplace that their highly paid employee isn’t broken.

The lad himself will have at least one eye on being fit enough to turn out in the red of Cymru.

I’m sure that is a challenge that his personal trainer will relish.

Still, Sevco got a big headline as the window was about to close and soothed their fretting klanbase.

Of course, that feel-good factor only lasted until they came up against Reo Hatate at Celtic Park.

  1. According to the chaps over on FF he’s the unfittest player they’ve ever seen. Ive read phrases like ” towing a caravan” and “blowing out of his arse after two minutes”.
Another can’t get over blowing £2m on what are increasingly likely to be his cameo appearances.

Apparently he’s going to feature tonight on an astroturf pitch. What could possibly go wrong?

  2. Ramsey going to The 2angers served numerous purposes.
1 He has an eye on a return to the Premier League and hopefully on full Juve wages.
Hoping for a Newcastle move most likely
2 Juventus need shot of him as he is an expensive flop in terms of his appearances.
I gather there is a large sum to be paid out if he hits 100 appearances (currently on or around 70)
3 In order to get a move he needs both a good pre Season and a casual saunter in what he would deem an easier League.

Well as Joey Barton ,Senderos and Kranjčar found out it isn’t a matter of just turning up in the Scottish top flight.
As Ange Postecoglou pointed out teams play to win and there isn’t the time and space you get in other Leagues.

As for them signing him at the end of the Season 🤣

We say Hatate they say Haw Tattie

  3. Did they forget to inform sevco that Ramsey’s only there to get his fitness up to an acceptable level – before his next move to a proper club at season end?

IF he manages to get some more playing time at Ibrox, that would be s bonus! 🙂

    • With Juve picking up the ‘bulk’ of his wages, say £350k of his alleged £400k per week, that will still make Ramsey the highest paid employee at Ibrox on approx £50k per week.
Not sure how that will go down with the always smiling Colombian and his agent plus the likes of Kent and Tavernier who are actually contributing on the park.
Football dressing rooms can be funny places especially if there are payroll issues and the previous highest earners finding themselves playing second fiddle to a new recruit who to date has contributed hee haw!

    • Let’s see what he brings to the table with a few games under his belt. It must be worrying as to how far off the pace he is at the moment given the financial outlay for his services.
Meanwhile in other news Celtic’s player trading model rolls on resulting in the £20m plus annual profit just reported.
Compare and contrast with the numbers across the city. The fee from Everton for the young full back is way short of what’s required to cover the annual losses so those currently financing the club will once again have to dig deep between now and the summer transfer window.
Kyogo, Hatate, Juranovic and others have been added to the Celtic squad at a seemingly low cost with Jota’s £6m transfer fee likely to be met in the next window.
Ange has brought a style of football to the club which has quickly won over the fans after last seasons shambles.
With the League Cup already secured could Ange complete the turnaround and deliver the treble in his first season?
