felicidad y dinero

Apparently, Alfredo is “very happy” at Sevco.

Well, that’s nice.

However, a well-placed Ibrox source suggested to me today that this might actually come as news to the hombre himself and his representatives.

That said, my guy is not a fan of the in-house PR superhero.

Of course, I have currently no way of verifying if this new splurge about Alfredo is genuine or merely some transfer window spin.

I’m told that Porto still has some residual interest in the South American, but only around €5m rising to €6.5m.

Yes, that’s Euros, dear reader, not Sterling.

The exit of Juninho Bacuna will not be a game-changer apropos the wage bill.

As the window closes, with young Hagi injured, that leaves only Joe Aribo and Borna Barišić as highly sellable assets.

I’m told that the latter had a very convivial post presser chat with the PR superhero.

Perhaps it was something to do with Borna’s answer about what would happen if an offer came in for him.

My information is that Giovanni van Bronckhorst could cope with the departure of the Croatian much better than if he no longer had the services of the Nigerian.

Then there’s the Lundstram conundrum.

That situation should be a reminder to any footie fan that free transfers are anything but free.

Indeed, the reason that players run down their contract is that they can get a larger signing on fee.

Currently, the ex-Sheffield United midfielder is receiving his in weekly instalments.

That is why he is probably one of the best-paid players in Scotland at the moment.

Obviously, if he were to be sold in this window, the club would have to pay him the outstanding portion of his signing on fee.

I don’t suspect for a moment that they would expect the buying club to pick up that tab.

Such a notion would be, of course, ridiculous!

The news today of another loan signing at Sevco confirms the veracity of my reporting several months ago when I stated that the January window at Ibrox would be about sales, loans and promotion of a wunderkind or two from the academy.

So here is another loan deal.

The Director of Fantasy was told to bring in £20m, cut the wage bill and plug any gaps with loan deals.

So far, that is precisely what is happening.

Now, if there was a functioning Fourth Estate on Planet Fitba, they would take a step back and spend some time analysing the public data.

Follow follow the money.

Always…

  1. Ha!Ha!Ha! Wonderful entertainment about the new huns. I was just trying to think if Morelos EVER looked “very happy” and quickly decided that was a big NO. But I know (from this site and elsewhere) that he’s more prone to MOANING. So I burst out laughing on reading about the guy from Man Ure being “Agreement reached on a six month moan……”
So, maybe with a new soul mate Alfredo will truly be “very happy” as they moan in harmony. Until the summer. Ha!Ha!Ha!

  2. The new Messi?? By his age Messi had made 70 first team appearances, domestically and in Europe for what was arguably the best team in the world at the time, and scored 26 goals. He had 2 La liga titles, a Champions League Winner’s medal and an U-20 World Cup Winner’s medal. He was an established international player. Compare and contrast with Diallo. Oh wait a moment. You can’t really can you? Because there’s NO comparison to be made.

  3. Perhaps Alfredo said something else and it’s been lost in translation. It’s not unknown for Sky to miss translate now is it.
