It is no secret that Celtic will require a massive re-build in the summer.
This season has been a calamity of Shakespearean proportions, and the current playing squad will need a major overhaul.
Therefore, key personnel must be put in place before this can begin.
The good news for the Celtic end is that I’m told that Heated Driveway Productions has had no hand, act or part in the managerial recruitment process.
Tonight, I was finally contacted by a source who is very close to Desmond Enterprises.
I had been trying him for a couple of weeks, so I left the manuscript alone and heard what he had to say when he called.
Here is what he told me:
Interviews HAVE been held for the post of Director of Football and Manager.
In no particular order, he gave me the following names.
Roy Keane.

Should the Corkman get the job, and remember Mr Desmond hugely admires him, I’m told that Damien Duff might be part of the new set-up.

If that one gets over the line, then expect Fergal Harkin as director of football.

I was also told that the Manchester City Under 23 coach Enzo Maresca HAS been interviewed.

My guy said that Eddie Howe remains “interested”.
However, the ex-Bournemouth man has other options.
Now, the next name really surprised me.
Frank Lampard.

Apparently, he interviewed very well.
Finally, he said that the agent of David Moyes has reached out.

Regarding the last one, just please no, not under any circumstances.
Now, this source is VERY well-placed and has no reason to lie to me.
Please take it as you will; I’m merely a well-meaning conduit.
Note that I do not have a second source for any of this.
However, I think it worth passing on with the usual caveats.
Now, I have to kill off a character that I’m quite fond of…
Stay safe.

That is one horrendous list.
Keane as a head COACH, answerable to someone else, someone else making decisions that affect him are 2 attributes Roy Keane does not possess.
Lampard all we hear post Chelsea is he had fines for everything and gave the players no tactical direction – an old school manager when that is who has led us to the depths we are currently in…
Man City guy interests me, if the right work is done on the training ground the rest sorts itself out. We’ve seen that – we’ve reaped in £70m + from 2 x CL campaigns as well as other historical achievements.
Moyes – his ego is finally being massaged as he’s always wanted or thought he was entitled to, so why would he leave England now ? It makes no sense. I’d take him ahead of Keane and lampard
With Brexit limiting the talent we can import from Europe we are dependent more than ever on adding value to the players we can recruit from the UK. The only one with a record of doing so from that list is Howe. I suppose the Man City coach is an unknown quantity. Keane would combust in that role. If we do not get Howe then it’s a lottery
Wish you had a second source for ‘just please no, not under any circumstances’
As always Phil thanks for keeping us updated.
Keep at them Phil

Linking your other interesting articles: PL should not be at Parkhead, but tending his garden just now – in my humble opinion.
Perceptions and all that.
Whist we have many reasons to be proud of our club for reasons other than sporting achievements, [food bank donations, the money raised for Palestine in defiance of UEFA, etc.], the 5 Way Agreement and Resolution 12 will ALWAYS be an uncomfortable embarrassment – lurking in the background.
And in the years to come, we won’t remember how much money PL managed to extract from supporters, sponsors, etc. for the benefit of the club.
PL will be best remembered for publicly stating at an AGM that he “hadn’t seen the 5 Way Agreement”, and all that entails.
That perceived dereliction of duty could be Lawwell’s lasting legacy. 🙁
Jesus I’m hoping none of them!
Have to laugh at celtic fans not considering moyles and as if hes not good enough
I’d take Moyes before Lsmpard or Keane.
Come on Phil! No book spoilers please!
I’m really looking forward to the book and that’s interesting stuff about the possible next manager.
Phil, is there any significance in the title of this piece?
Or Frank Lampard
Oh, and please God – not Roy Keane!!
I dont get the dislike of Moyes. He has West Ham playing well and in contention for a CL place. Fantastic when you consider where they were.
And for this reason, I doubt very much that he would leave the E&WPL.
“The fools, the fools, the fools!.”
This is all season ticket jam tomorrow and deflection from lawells collaboration with sevco
Thanks Phil, very interesting, cheers 🍻 and power tae yir elbow🍀
1st… Praise your God that Liewell has no involvement anymore.
2nd. Man City have been good for us, regarding the quality we’ve previously picked up.
You mean like Ntcham who got subbed as Marseille crashed out the French Cup to a 4th Division side or do you mean Arzani and that other unknown neither of whom even got a game for us but spent 3 or 4 years with us as wage thieves instead?
Dermot Desmond is the man who put share prices and profit before anything to do with our club.Lawwell and the other yes men laughing called the board where never anything other than well paid flak takers.Anyone thinking otherwise are delusional.Blame no one but him.God save us from billionaires💚🍀🇮🇪
