To put it in footie parlance the Sevco PR chap is a bit like being a centre half when the opposition striker is really on your side.
Consequently, even the most amateur defending rarely has bad consequences.
The faux furore over the Sevco house party story is a case in point.

Firstly, there is almost certainly a real story to pursue there.
However, the Stenography Corps have to obey the usual Ibrox ordinances.
Sadly, when it comes to the stadium that John Brown played for journalistic scrutiny is on permanent lockdown.
Indeed, so much of the Ibrox shitshow going back to the Murray Years can be laid at the door of a venal, craven local media.
This recent episode looks rather familiar.
As of late last night, I was presented with a somewhat different narrative to the one in the succulent media.
Of course, there was no need for a journalist in another country to chip in during Bolingoligate.

PR firefighting 101 usually comprises the following checklist:
Deny.
Deflect.
Minimise.
Mitigate.
It is the role of a functioning journalism to derail those attempts to conceal what is really going on or what actually transpired.
In a parallel universe, real editors would be asking their reporters the following questions:
Where there more players at the house party?
Are the club’s PR people trying to get in front of the story by focusing on the two players who got the spot fines from the cops?
Is there anyone out there claiming to have pictures of this house party?
If so, are they for sale?
Dear reader, those are the questions that your humble correspondent would be asking if I were working that beat.
Rud amháin eile.
On an entirely unconnected matter, it would be remiss of me not to offer belated best wishes to young Master Arfield.

I hope that he was able to have some kind of birthday celebration, within the current Covid guidelines of course…

TBF there is a big difference is circumstances. Sevco players did not mingle with the rest of the team and therefore they did not have games postponed. Celtic had a player swan off abroad and then mix with the team without self isolating. Aberdeen had five clowns mix with a large pub crowd and some caught the virus causing games to be postponed.
Yes Sevco should see some reprimand as the SG stated football is on a yellow card, but some of the comments are over the top.
One celtic player broke covid rules without the knowledge of the club and celtic had next 2 games postponed by Scottish government. (At least) 2 sevconians broke the rules and same scottish government praises the sevco suspension. The mind boggles. Clearly one rule for them….
I would say this animal is backed into its last corner..
Scott Arfield born on November 1st.
James Tavernier born on October 31st.
Take your pick.
Or double celebration??
Every new sponsor or share sale is only to beg for more blue pounds from their gullible fans, snp were never going to stop sevco from flying to a game in Europe, sfa begged the snp to let them go on the hope that a sponsor will eventually help them get a bonus, i for one will email my local snp rep to acknowledge that i will vote a party other than them.
Of course this isn’t the first infringement at Ayebrokes is it?
Sure there was the “mix up” with testing in pre Season when they fielded an entire team v Dundee Utd without knowing the results of the testing.
Absolutely nothing was said as their excuse was failure to understand the rules properly.
The first Minister seemed to want to make an example with both Celtic and Aberdeen and as a result both our Clubs were impacted regardless of what internal punishment was handed out.
I mean to say Bolingoli was fired off out in Loan.
Hence the requirement of bringing in Laxalt at further expense.
Are we seeing one rule for one in play YET AGAIN here?
Any idea who the new shares allocated on the 3rd of November
In other news a massive 19 million new shares have been issued to a mystery investor which raises a not so massive £3.8m . The charges registered on Companies House to Close Leasing remain outstanding (for now) It has been exactly 18 months between charges registered and new shares issued , this of course could be entirely coincidental . It could of course be Close calling in the debt and in the current financial climate that to me would seem feasible . Time and patience will reveal the truth.
I’d forgotten about Boyd’s comment.
Celtic should have match against the Shaggers cancelled and forfeit the points.
Celtic had ONE player breaking the rules. The Shaggers had EIGHT..
But Celtic should forfeit the points.
I must be really thick. There’s obviously a bit of logic in there somewhere, but for the life of me I just CAN’T see it.
I must say that I am totally surprised that Dignity FC have not yet been awarded at least an extra 6 BONUS POINTS for acting as always in such a dignified and noble manner.

I guess you could call the above a 2 fingered ‘salute’ to the Ibrox PR rookie? 🙂
But which media outlet would buy – and actually publish – any incriminating photos?
Hopefully it’s a developing story……
Still no accounts and seems as if accounts (of other happenings) are being falsified. No interims no full end of year and yet we still have them playing in Europe….
I’m exhausted with it all
If Barcelona are heading for Bankruptcy in a week due to Covid and a poor window I’m fairly certain other Clubs with far less revenue streams and Champions League football might just be heading for stormy waters themselves.
After all you can play kid on with others but you’d be foolish to play kid on with yer self on a Financial front.
Tick Tock ⌛️📈🎈📌
Sevco are not playing kid on with themselves.
They are playing kid on with everyone else.
They’ve just sold another 19m shares for just over £3m so cash in hand – for another month.
What, if anything, will happen if it turns out that the two named and shamed players were not the only ones from the Ibrox squad in attendance at the party?
Is it the case that the two identified have been thrown to the wolves by Rangers as expendable whereas others in attendance are seen to be a vital part of the squad and therefore untouchable.
The Scottish Governments quick response in praising the Ibrox club for their swift action in condemning the players behaviour might look somewhat foolish if others are involved who have escaped being named.
