The Teddy Bears’ fascist picnic

Consider this…

Can you imagine some Hoops oriented merchandise outfit putting out a pin badge depicting a member of the Celtic backroom staff holding the severed head of Steven Gerrard aloft?

No, of course, you can’t.

Across the Clyde, there are different moral parameters.

I probably shouldn’t find this shocking.

After all, I have journalistically explored the fascist DNA  of the Ibrox klanbase for long enough.

As far as I am aware, there is only one group of fans in Britain who fondly remember in song a self-identifying fascist who was a card-carrying member of the Ku Klux Klan.

Unlike his Stateside brethren, Billy Fullerton did not have a black population to target in the Glasgow of the 1920s.

Instead, it was the Irish Catholic community who fulfilled the role of the despised other.

The life and times of Neil Francis Lennon at Celtic has not been a good look for Fair Caledonia.

I rather suspect that if he had been a black man, then his victimisation would have been a global story.

Nor is this simply a confined to the Ibrox klanbase.

However, they are by far the worst offenders in this regard.

I’m not legally qualified to determine whether or not the image in question crosses the line over incitement to violence.

However, it is undoubtedly disturbing.

Moreover, given how the Ibrox klanbase has adopted the Late Lee Rigby as one of their own it merely flags up the extent to which they lack in self-awareness.

I am willing to take the people at Teddy Bear Pins at their word that they have had “overwhelming demand” for this particular item.

Here are some of the folk that they are follow following on Twitter.

Of course, that does not suggest that any of these folks would approve of this shocking imagery.

However, I’m not so sure about these chaps…

Rud amháin eile.

Apparently, the brethren in the Sevco High Command were seriously unhappy about this piece.

The poor dears…

  1. As a Hearts supporter I am disappointed you use that image so often. It was one fan and not at all representative of the majority. As much as I dislike NL, I find this pin badge reprehensible. It shows a disgusting attitude to football rivalry and has no place in modern society.
Anyone wearing such should be arrested and charged with lack of taste.

  2. If any Celtic fan/group/org did anything similar they’d be rightly castigated but compare and contrast the MSM reaction here giving a sympathetic hearing to their “it’s only bantz” moronic defence.

Lee Rigby’s family have always stated that they reject any form of bigotry, so they may claim him as a hero but his family don’t claim them as supporters.

  3. That picture would be front n centre in dr,RAG,with police involved IF it were a Celtic site, retailer, business posting such images and selling this tasteless tat.

The ‘sg n statue defenders’ would be threatening all sorts, boycotts,no attending away grounds and their old favourite of course;civil war!!

Basically there’s the old double standards in Scotland, alive n well for All the World to see.

It’s a disgusting image, they’ve no moral standards at all, although,we should all know that by now.

Let’s hope they play some of those ‘statue defenders’ on Saturday,we need every advantage atm.

    Thanks Phil🇮🇪

  4. Pathetic
I guess a strongly worded statement from Bell is imminent…?
These people might have difficulties promoting the Ibrox “Everyone Anyone” campaign!

If Rangers FC had been – correctly – kicked out of Scottish football in 2012, then the vast majority of football fans wouldn’t be exposed today to the ongoing nonsense and negativity emanating from Ibrox and its support.
