Oh dear, another day another statement.

I will save you the time going to read it.
The central message was “don’t call the league but give us the money!”
If I didn’t know any better, then I would think that the Sevco High Command are desperate for cash.

There has been much made of the wage deferment by Mr Gerrard’s Gumtree Galacticos.
Now they may be serial losers in the SPFL, but they ARE very well paid indeed.
The local media has gushed about the putative 50% pay deferral.
When I put this figure to a well-placed a source, he laughed like a drain.
He put it to me that even a 70% deferment was of no real use to the chaps in the Blue Room.
Therefore, higher than 70%?
Really?
He was coy.
However, you can only push a source so far, or they stop being a source.
Of course, this matter something for the local media in Glasgow to pursue.
However, dear reader, we both know that will not happen.
I am clear that Mr Let’s Go, the Serious professional and the current Director of Fantasy spelt out the grim reality to the players.
Here are some questions that those fearless fellows in the Stenography Corps might want to consider:
What exact role did Mr Gerrard play in selling this deal to his squad?
Was there any quid pro quo from the board?
If so, did it involve waiving the compensation in his contract should another club come calling?
Journalism is essentially a two-act drama with the powerful always cast as the villains of the piece.
Act One is questions answered.
Act Two is answers questioned.
Sadly, the heroic chaps on the sports desks in Glasgow usually ask what questions they are allowed to ask!
As for the salary deferment, I do hope that the Sevco players have it in writing that they will be getting ALL of their unpaid wages back in the first regular pay round.
My take is that if it weren’t for the ousted chairman, then pressing the “administration” button would make a lot of sense to the chaps in the Blue Room right now.
However, the brogue trader in Johannesburg wants his money.

There are a few unknowns in that part of this sorry shit show.
Mr King did say at the last RIFC AGM that his loan was on a commercial basis.
Ok, but is it secured anything that the club owns?
As ever, with the Ibrox saga it, it pays to follow follow the money.

Have you considered that a UK D Notice has been applied to reporting Boris Johnson’s health – which of course does not apply in the Republic of Ireland ?
The Prime Minister has been in Intensive Care for approaching 72 hours with an ailment that has a survival rate of approx. 50% for his demographic.
Intensive Care meaning having his vital signs and organ functions monitored minute by minute, 24/7, one-on-one, by a highly trained nurse – in expectation of a rapid, life-threatening, decline at any moment.
Meanwhile the BBC, ITV, C4 and MSM papers are content reporting days-old, vague, official platitudes: “improving”, “high spirits”, “engaging with staff”, “sitting up”.
And as the official platitudes age – political minnows (Tobias Ellwood, Oliver Dowden) are wheeled out to add their unofficial, uninformed, unsourcesd platitudes to the mix: “steady progress”, “accessible”, “able to make decisions”.
No-one is asking:
Is Boris being given more or less oxygen than yesterday ?
Is Boris on CPAP – pressurized oxygen mask ?
When is Boris expected to leave ICU ?
Is Boris lucid ?
Is Boris sedated ?
Does “engaging” mean chatting or just nodding ?
Is Boris able to tweet ?
Did Boris type his last tweet on Monday ?
So many questions, so few asking them ?
What was it George Orwell said about journalism and PR ?
Is this the statement that started: “For the avoidance of doubt …” in imitation of your good self? 🙂
If the league can’t be completed from it’s current 80% standing the only solution that is coming from the blue side is Null and Void.
We know this has hee haw to do with sporting integrity but an opportunity to deny the Champions elect 9 IAR.
It’s as clear as day, it’s all they have to cling onto.
No doubt their former Chairman, now well removed from the firing line, will have his favourite QC on speed dial ready to throw good money, not his own, after bad to fight yet another forlorn case through the courts.
Surely the Parks have had enough of this and realise that the family fortune will soon be no more if they continue to be the bank of last resort given the hit their own business interests are taking as a result of the pandemic?
Johnston’s latest round of pish and yesterday’s Ibrox statement are successfully turning the attention of their support away from the critical financial situation staring them in the face.
Has the promised fresh investment arrived, how are ST sales going, when is the Close Bros loan due for repayment, ditto King’s loan, other unknown loans, transfer fee installments due, is there sufficient funds to meet the Sports Direct bill when finalised, will the deferred wage payments be paid in full when, if, the football season recommences?
Is there another Motherwell billionaire about to pop up and save the day?
None of these questions are being asked by their fans and needless to say the Scottish media won’t be kicking down anyone’s door soon to voice their own concerns.
They would rather splash back page headlines quoting a holding club director, Johnston, who is unable to pass the SFA Fit and Proper test to be a board member of the football club, which puts him in exactly the same frame as King, and his convictions.
Why the SFA has dragged its heels on Johnston’s F&P for so long is anyone’s guess.
Perhaps this is something we, Scottish football fans, should know because it stinks to high heaven.
Successful Scottish business man makes it big in the USA but is unable to pass the F&P test! Truly something not right here.
Come on Mr Maxwell, pop out of the Hampden bunker for 5 minutes and make a statement. Verbal would be preferred for obvious reasons.
If Johnston hasn’t been declared fit and proper then he shouldn’t be involved in the game until he is.
Not the other way around.
He’s been involved for perhaps two years but not authorised as fit and proper. How can that be?
The reality is the SFA does not operate a fit and proper assurance process in Scotland.
Little wonder that Budge won’t be supporting proposals that will see Hearts relegated.
It’s her get out of jail card for appointing Levein as club manager, a job in which he proved totally useless.
Despite being sacked in October he’s still on the payroll till the summer. Budge obviously sees things in Levein that others don’t, Michael Stewart for example.
They have won 4 from 30 games, scored a paltry 31 goals, which is ‘abhorrent’ for a club of the Jam Tarts size.
They deserve to be relegated and the fault lies clearly with Budge and her complete lack of judgement in football matters.
No matter what solution the SFA/SPFL come up with Rangers will still claim to have been shafted. Poor souls!
Their board want null and void to prevent Celtic’s 9 IAR, lets not kid ourselves on thats its some noble cause they are fighting.
A null and void victory will do wonders for S T update. They might even invest in some silverware, call it the Null and Void Cup and parade it around the stadium.
It’s not clear from their written statement as to how the prize monies would be distributed for the season but any suggestion from the SPFL that Null and Void would see all 12 teams receive an equal share would, no doubt, be claimed as more shafting by their board and fan base.
If you were a sponsor,TV company or any organisation that has contributed to the prize money pot to be told that Null and Void had been declared how much money would you be claiming back?
It would take weeks/months for the contract arguments to be resolved which would see some clubs go to the wall.
Lets not forget that there are people on the Ibrox board who were so impressed with Pedro’s video interview that they gave him the manager’s job. That’s a frightening insight into the abilities and foresight of those calling the shots at Ibrox.
King has exited stage left and we won’t know what input he has till the next doomed court case appears.
Park Senior and Junior will have their hands full managing a business with no customers due to the knock on effects of the Pandemic.
Alistair Johnston will still be hurting following his recent remarks that even had some of the Scottish media taking the piss out of him.
How’s that Fit and Proper status application coming along Ali?
How is it possible that such a fine, upstanding man did not automatically get the handshake, sorry nod, from the SFA?
Must be in a cold sweat when he wakes up in the morning realising that as far as the SFA is concerned him and Dave King are in the same boat. Not on the football club board but on the holding company one.
Dear Sevco. I would like to purchase a slice of turf which I understand has been lifted from your pitch recently. It will serve as a great reminder to me of a club full of disease. I reckon with the right treatment, I can save the grass, however as for your club….
If DK’s loan was on secured terms, wouldn’t a charge have to be filed with the Companies House? The only charges outstanding are from Close Brothers and the Council (for their training ground), it’s of which they’ve been dealing with for well over a year.
I’m fairly sure that I read at the time that DK’s loan was on interest only. I really don’t recall any security being mentioned.
Season means the period of the year commencing on the date of the first League
Match in a Season and ending on the date of the last League Match in the same
Season or otherwise as determined by the Board and which excludes the Close
Season;
Severability
A3 Each Rule shall be construed separately and, if any Rule or provision in these Rules
may prove to be illegal, invalid or unenforceable for any reason, such illegality,
invalidity or unenforceability shall not affect the remaining Rules which shall
continue in full force and effect.
These are the important SPFL rules. When the Board determines that the last league match has been played then the season ends. No ifs or buts. No fudges.
Celtic just have to wait till the Board declares that the season is finished. The league leader at that point IS the Champion. That’s the rules.
Posted the same thing weeks ago. It’s there, it’s clear, it’s in the rules in black and white. No grey areas. There really is NO ambiguity.
1. SPFL and SFA don’t know how much money they have. The Advertisers and TV companies didn’t get their exposure. They are due 8 match days of refunds.
2. Sevco cannot count on expected SPFL payout funds.
3. Sponsors sponsored a full season. They didn’t get it. They should expect refunds.
Celtic want to play and win it. Which they will. Let’s go along with UEFA and Wait and See. Revisit end April then End May then End June. Hold the prizemonies back to see how much SPFL legally have.
Everything depends upon the disease.
Wait and See is sensible.
It pains me greatly to say this……….but I agree with you.
Sevco want the season finished. Fine. Let’s give it every chance, and let’s NOT pay out ANY more prize money until it IS over, or reaches a stage where it becomes clear that it CAN’T be played out.
Then, if the SFA go down the null-and-void route, obviously NO prize money gets paid out and any that has already been paid should be returned immediately.
If there has been no league there clearly can’t be prize money for playing in it. Or not playing in it. I’m starting to give myself a sore head here!
Put all decisions back till the end of June and by that time Sevco will be bust anyway.
So there you have it 4 teams all shouting for more time to sort out the current crisis in Scottish football time is not on their side it costs money . Hearts =sevco Falkirk =sevco Thistle =nickel & dime and sevco = brass neck . For sevco to say Scottish clubs are in dire need of finances as if they are concerned about anyone else when they have had to take severe measures financially at their own club is a joke . Admin is waiting on them just round the corner .
BROXI BEAR 🐻
Can he POSSIBLY be for sale
But….but….but the klowns on Folly Folly said that the virus could cause Celtic to go bankrupt!! I know, what are they like doh? Chuckle chuckle. HH
For once I’m inclined to agree with the current tenants of ibrox. 😲
They could give out the prize money just now while the SPL make their mind up about how the title and relegation issues are decided.
Although with no single place in the table mathematically finalised, the fairest way to do it would be take the overall pot and divide it by the number of teams in the league.
That would be approximately 1.7 million per team.
It would be a huge boost for the smaller teams, admittedly it would be half what Celtic would have been expecting but their finances are well enough managed and I’m guessing their insurance policy is robust enough to take the hit.
It’d likely mean a small hit for third and fourth where my team should be ending up.
I suspect sevco wouldn’t me keen. The 700k hit they’d take should they hang onto second place may be the undoing of them.
Celtic should propose this immediately, just for the sh1t-stirring comedy value. Has to be worth it.
You’re naivety betrays you…
Sevco are lobbying for a payout prior to title and positions being finalised in order to push their N & V agenda afterwards. Once they and the other clubs have had their financial rewards , what incentive would there be to then vote Celtic champions and Hearts for relegation?
Sevco need the money but their priority is Celtic NOT winning. They will do anything to bring this about.
I hope the Celtic board are side to Sevco’s underhand tactics.
Logically, to me at any rate, if there is NO league, then there CAN’T be prize money for playing in it. They can’t have it both ways. Either there IS a league and they accept second place money therefore accepting that they have finished second. Or there is NO league and therefore NO prize money. Simples!!
Have you ever watched Casino, when De Niro is told that you people don’t understand, you are only our guests here. The same applies in Scotland with the Klan. We are only their guests.Don’t bank on the title going to Celtic,so give null and void some thought with Sevco still getting their payout. The SFA have a past history with doing the right thing by Sevco. What will Desmond do about it? as Lawell is only his stooge and will take the blame.
Don’t celebrate there could be strange decisions to come.
Pieinthesky
100%.
Scottish football is a backwater. Not even the press in neighbouring England are interested in what should be a national (ie British) scandal.
Ibrox know that they have a permanent flashing amber (prior to social media it was a green light) to do what they please with their hand puppets the SFA and SPFL. Disbursing the money while at the same time cancelling the league season is what we should expect their facilitators to do on their behalf. Anticipating an attempt at anything less is naive on our part.
Perfect opportunity for Maxwell and Doncaster to shut the Ibrox club and fan base up, as with the following demands on whoever is calling the shots desk at Ibrox in the morning.
1.
Failure to comply with the authorities plans will see a review of the EBT cheating years without the intervention of Bryson and the trophies won by the ‘imperfectly’ registered players will be stripped with immediate effect.
2.
Those involved in the fraudulent UEFA application will be named, shamed and banned for life from world football.
3.
All relevant information re the above to be passed to Police Scotland fraud squad.
4.
Maxwell and Doncaster to publicly state the current entity playing out of Ibrox is not the same club/company currently in the dying throes of liquidation and that if the new club ever win a major national trophy it will be their first.
Rangers think they can get away with it and so far they have.
Time for the SFA and SPFL to slap them down, they have the power, use it now!
Aye. But we both know they won’t.
Don’t hold your breath waiting for that to happen. We’ve had 8 years so far without those with vested interests accepting the truth. Sadly unless they go down the pan again the lie will survive.
The way things are panning out at the Ibrox shitshow it looks like no one is going to be getting any money. King’s loan on commercial terms is interesting. The fact that it was a loan and not investment while everyone else sunk their hard earned in without return is brass necked in the extreme. But what was it secured against? He must have known even at the time of said loan that he might have been whistling for his cash when the time came. Does he have the Humming training ground, formerly Murray Park, as collateral? In the probable event of administration could he sell it or force its sale to get his money back and possibly more given its location and suitability for upmarket housing? And would he see it as a big GIRUY to Murray for fleecing him all those years ago?
Here we go again legal action is getting a mention from the Klan tonight on FF if the decisions get called league positions as they are . The reason for this is because the Klan said SPFL/SFA don’t have the cash to fight sevco in the courts oh dear . They are even willing to get kicked out of Europe by UEFA with every other Scottish club if it means the Klan getting their own way by challenging it in court . Definitely some serious locktite superglue3 sniffers on that site . Just think as the clock runs down on them and the serious stuff is revealed they will be going tonto , with their sites on meltdown .
Just read the numpties statement. Really? seriously? and they wonder why people are laughing at them?
38 games have to played for the sake of sporting integrity but with no chance of that happening they have immediately dissed the football authorities average points solution to decide the 1 to 12 finishing order because who knows, they can still overturn Celtic 13 point lead, fourteen with GD taken into account.
It’s such a ridiculous statement that my first thoughts were Alistair Johnston must have penned this following on from yesterday’s nonsense. He’s a dab hand at talking shite.
It’s barely believable that after dissing the points solution they make great play of the need to get the year end prize monies out to the clubs as soon as possible.
Thats very gallant of them as I presume that current league positions will count for nothing for sporting integrity reasons therefore the prize pot will be split equally between all 12 clubs. First same as last and so on.
Oh hang on a minute they want the money to be awarded on current positions which means they would get substantially more for finishing 2nd than an even split between the 12.
Clear as mud, there is no one at Ibrox capable of making adult, joined up decisions.
Stand by for the media to take the piss out of them in tomorrow’s papers……oh wait, that could cost someone their job.
No league, NO prize money!
If we had played the remaining games we would have demoralised them as we steamrollered our way to the title and, who knows, the QuadraFenians quadruple treble.
They would have been beaten and on the floor and would have struggled to shift season tickets.
If the SPFL call this now then they will have done the season ticket marketing for Sevco. Aside from deluded expectation, nothing sells better down The Debt Star way better than hate and defiance (remember 2012 and the beginning of “the journey”?).
If the SPFL are going to call it “as it stands” I hope it is as late in the day as possible, say June 30th!
If they call it now it allows Sevco to take their money whilst publicly wailing and gnashing their teeth which will galvanise their unhinged fruit bat support. It’s the perfect storm for Sevco to disguise their own mismanagement and their own hubris and package it up as a conspiracy against them.
Celtic must stand firm and insist this season is played to a finish (as much as every sane person on the planet knows it can’t be) and call these clowns out and squeeze them to the bitter end. We know we have won, but we must drag this out as long as we can.
They started the null and void garbage and every crooked tax evading cheat has been given a public platform to shout about integrity.
Let them wait a while before common sense decisions are made, and make them sign a disclaimer that they only get their money if they shut up and put their crayons back in the stork margarine tub under the desk!
Excellent idea! There’s every chance admin would arrive before 30th June. ANY points deduction would null and void their arguments.
I doubt if Ashley will pull the nuclear button at this exact moment as there are others in the queue who have first dibs on whatever monies are available. Close Bros, King?
Perhaps he will wait till the end of May when ST monies will be in the bank and he can ringfence whatever the final bill is.
There is a distinct possibility that the Close Bros and King loans plus the anticipated hit from Sports Direct could wipe out the ST monies, then what?
Ashley CAN’T pull the plug until the judge gives the final figure and with the courts in lockdown for the foreseeable future that could be some way down the line.
They are doing these sort of cases where a jury is not needed through video conferencing
I got some seed and threw it on my lawn bald patches the other day. Raked the surface first. Didn’t cost much.
“Abhorrent”, “severe consequences” “forcing through change”….. you can always rely on a Sevco man being a real drama queen.
The SPFL Clubs have offered their Association membership a reasonable vote to deal with these extraordinary circumstances. As always Sevco are a contrary lot, declaring they speak for others, which they don’t and are shameful in these circumstances.
Why are they always like this?
The clubs will vote.
Abhorrent was the word for me. Their attitude is abhorrent. Always was and always will be. Running on the last fumes of their own hubris and delusion. I personally wish them a speedy death.
Dunno. I’m not by nature a vindictive man but a slow, lingering death, for that mob, wouldn’t get them a lot of sympathy from me.
On the subject of voting, The Rangers and Hamilton should be exempt from voting as an Ibrox suit has a vested interest in both clubs. Sporting Integrity and all that.
Hang on mate. The SFA/SPFL are well aware of this particular conundrum and decided to look the other way.
It’s how they do business at Hampden. You only have to look at the clowns running our game and how they, and those who have gone before them, will bend over backwards to throw a lifeline to whatever club is playing out of Ibrox.
Take the example of Jim Farry, and his backers, who successfully managed to delay the registration of George Cadete for reasons known only to themselves.
It cost Farry his job but others involved in that plot, because thats what is was, are still on the premises and still calling the shots.
For example when did an ‘imperfect’ but legal player registration first feature in the SFA rule book?
This particular piece of chicanery was all that prevented Rangers having the trophies won during the EBT years stripped from them.
There are dark, secretive forces at work in the Hampden corridors, none of which is for the benefit of Scottish football as a whole.
Personally I believe that if you have to join a secret society to better your career prospects and climb the greasy pole to the detriment of others with equivalent qualifications or experience then you are a lost soul and not someone who merits any respect whatsoever apart from their fellow brothers.
If the sevs dont like it they can always gtf to another league, only peepul it wid hurt is the scum that follow follow them
They actually discussed this on fester fester last week in response to suggestions (not by us) that Celtic be crowned Champions.
Love the oh so relevant picture above ( Rankers strip) surely even the blue nose fans must realise the goose has been cooked and eaten and the bones licked dry, all that’s left are the assets… who holds the deeds
The new club going on about changes and rules and regulations and decisions would abhorrent for clubs to be relegated and Celtic becoming champions without playing all the games out. Oh dear in 2011/12 they pushed for the old club to break every rule in book to keep them in the top flight or the championship before eventually being chased down the leagues . Never heard anything or anyone from their club making the kind of statements way back then as they are tonight about rules , changes or it being abhorrent to keep them in the top flight . It’s the tea-cosy beanie wearers at their best in the double STANDARDS stakes .
Is it no Bomber, then?
I love that sevco shirt!! That is soooooo funny!!
I dont think they need to worry down Ibrox way – I’m sure that, as we speak, Jim McColl and the Wilson fella are slowly making their move along Paisley Road West, towards Edmiston Drive, dragging a massive war chest full of money!! I just hope it’s not stuffed full of Turkish Lira!! 😂
Lol I posted a couple of weeks ago that sevco and the Klan wanted paid up front for the league not being finished way back then but not wanting Celtic confirmed as champions . Also we ain’t heard the last of King he definitely is hanging about like a bad smell and he wants his dosh . Fun and games coming up as he chases his money from sevco and Klan that loved him so much. Just think when the brown stuff hits the fan and it’s one of their doing how lovely this will be . Oh how we warned them . Also don’t expect to Slippy anytime soon back at ibrox he is tattie bye , no compo for the Klan as part agreement when Gerrard gets the call from a club down south . He wont be best pleased at the pay cut or deferred wages .
Ha, King hanging about, the word tarrier springs to mind ironic lol.
They need to pay the close brothers and Liverpool and Hector no cheep seats these
