Only four weeks ago the Ibrox klanbase realised that this season was over for them.
Their low calorie cousins dumped them out of the cup on the 29th of February.
It was clear that The People were revolting.

The outlook was SO bleak that no amount of succulent pish from the Stenography Corps could dull the pain.
This was because the Ibrox chaps had realised that the Scottish Cup was their last hope of domestic success in season 2019-2020.
Mr Let’s Go stated that they would have to consider his future employment situation.
Then, only a few days later, relegation strugglers Hamilton Accies came to the stadium that John Brown played for and left with the point.
08.28:
“The atmosphere has turned toxic here”.
For the avoidance of doubt, your humble correspondent was under the impression that the ambience there was never anything else…
Of course, a late addition to any struggling squad can be transformative.
The mood among the Ibrox klanbase has been lifted by the recent acquisition of Nullan Void.
An exciting talent who could still rescue yet another season without a trophy for Sevco.
Now the world-class administrators on the 6th floor at Hampden have been told by UEFA that they must merk a decision.
Fortunately, the decision-makers of Mount Florida are top-notch at…well decision making.
In professional sport, you tend to get what you pay for.
Consequently, I’m sure that Mr Neil Doncaster will be limbering up for some great decisions.
An impeccably placed source recently told me that Mr D had pulled down £370k last year.

Of course, the former SPL supremo, who is now the top chap in the SPFL, is worth every penny.
I’m sure that his impressive skillset will prove…err…decisive…when he must make one of those decision thingies.
Yes, yes, I’m aware that under his stewardship that the SPFL have found themselves without a sponsor for next season.
Even the most chemically altered at Ibrox knew that their season as over one month ago.
Is the Covid-19 pandemic means that this season is over then common sense must be the winner.

If Sevco follow follow through with a rumoured threat of legal action then they will undoubtedly lose in court.
That is something they’re rather good at it.
It is a non-starter and James Forrest covers it rather well here.
For the avoidance of doubt, I would much prefer the remaining fixtures to be played.
Celtic have no rivals in the domestic sphere.

Moreover, everyone on Planet Fitba is fully aware of that.

Another three pensioners with dementia die in the same care home. Meanwhile Nicola Sturgeon’s handpicked CMO visits her holiday home twice during Lockdown. C*nts!
Scotland is run by a hard core feminist mafia who are incompetent and dangerous and don’t give a fuck for anyone else.
Why were none of the 16 poor souls taken to hospital? Especially the last 3 after the first 13 died.
One horse bolted and they still didn’t lock the doors afterwards. Now another has bolted. There’s no basics there with this Government.
What is being done RIGHT NOW to investigate this to give the public confidence that the lessons are propagated to all care homes in Scotland ASAP so that there’s no REPEAT????
They’re so f*cking dangerously incompetent they need to read blogs to get ideas.
The position of the CMO is now untenable.
However, screaming hysterically for public enquiries and investigations RIGHT NOW is, frankly, the reaction of the hard of thinking.
How could ANY investigation take place without interviewing everyone and anyone who had ANYTHING whatsoever to do with that place.
Investigations WILL take place, at the appropriate time, when it is safe to do so.
Here, perhaps IF you could try to pretend that you can be impartial, YOU could interview all the staff, residents, delivery men, visitors, any contractors and anyone else who may have been in the place in the last eight weeks or so.
You’d be safe enough. After all you claimed in a previous post that you’d HAD the virus MONTHS AGO!!
To be fair, Phil, The People have ALWAYS been revolting…
A quick scan of the blue side sites would convince a stranger to this land that Rangers had been totally stitched up from 2012 till the present day.
Who is responsible for this abhorrent treatment of The People?
First and foremost it’s Celtic and Lawwell as they control the media, the SFA and the SPFL.
Aye that’s right, a media that refuses to tell the truth about the events of 2012.
A media that will have a dig at Celtic whenever the opportunity arises.
Football authorities who invent ‘imperfect’ solutions when blatant cheating has taken place under their watch re the EBT scandal. I wonder how HMRC is getting on with recovering the unpaid tax from the ex players, particularly those like McCann, Dodds, Rae etc who are still earning a coin via the media?
Isn’t it amazing that the scoundrel at the root of all their problems that blew up in their faces in 2012 has escaped being torn to pieces by the Scottish media.
Why he’s flown under the radar is anyone’s guess but can you imagine the hounding that would have ensued if the culprit had been in the Celtic boardroom?
Something not quite right with that.
Furthermore a knight of the realm who drove his companies off the edge of a very steep cliff, resulting in HBOS having to write off the guts of £800m, is still a knight of the realm.
How can that be?
Thanks Phil for posting that
My local clydebank asda has got one
Workmen on life support just now and
People who have to share the asda STORE
Have a great chance to spread the virus
Myself will avoid this place sorry about
UAFA the now STOPPING someone can save lives just buy avoid message masks and gloves outside
Scott McDermott one half of Dumb & Dumber the other being Gannon from the daily ranger sunday ranger has wheeled out Thomas Buffel to talk up Hudgie and how sevco have a player there they should not let go . Apparently going by Buffel comments Hudgie is only playing well because Slippy is the only manager for him to bring out the best in Hudgie . News for Buffel Slippy ain’t coming back up to sevco he is finished as their manager . King has been gone a couple of weeks now and not one interview has Slippy done . Everyone including sevco in this has a better chance of seeing the invisible man ,Lord Lucan or Shergar before we see Gersrd up at ibrox again .
alles ist scheisse
Like most people I understand a bit of German but don’t claim to speak it, so when I say “alles ist scheisse”, I guess you all know what I mean, especially the “ALLES” bit.
Beginning to end, top to bottom, left to right backwards and corner to corner, an unmitigated harlequinade which couldn’t be touched even by a salad of McCoist, Keevins, Johnston, Trump, what a world.
The letter sent by UEFA to all member leagues is no more than an appalling attempt at bullying.
The threat to withhold European places to any associations ending their season early is as empty as their thick skulls. If every association decides to halt their season at the present league positions what are they going to do? Abandon their cash-cow tournaments? I think not.
Instead of acting like not particularly tough playground bullies they should try earning the the fat salaries they’re being paid and show some leadership. They tell each association to make it’s own decisions and in almost the next breath say it has to be a decision that suits them. Make a decision or fuck off out of the way. Piss or get off the pot.
My biggest fear is that the only decision they make will be to announce that next years European Competitions will be restricted to the big five. They have pandered to them so much in the last twenty years that they have completely lost sight of the fact that they are meant to represent ALL members without favour.
I’m totally convinced that there is more chance of England, Spain, Germany, Italy and France running out of brown envelopes before the run out of toilet paper.
McDermott and Gannon doing the dirty work for sevco and their cousins from Edinburgh with an article in Sunday Ranger. A two pronged attack on Celtic being crowned champions and should this happen sevco and their cousins are making threats of legal action . Funny that the 2 clubs with the most to lose screaming and shouting like 2 spoilt brats . The two pronged attack even mentions other clubs backing Dumb & Dumber up but don’t have the nerve or the bottle to name the clubs in the article more FAKE news . The panic button has been pressed in the media and sevco have ler their dogs lose to stop Celtic being champions.
Even heard Barry square baw on the radio today saying the decision to end the season had to be made sooner rather than later. Null and Void was, in his opinion NOT an option. If the decision to declare Celtic Champions is made, Sevco fans basically just need to accept it and get over it.
So Alan Hutton thinks sevco should sign Liverpool player Nathaniel Clynne who is on 70 grand a week . Oh ma sides sevco counting the pennies to see out the season needing 10 to 15 million quid to see the season out and this tea-cosy beanie wearer thinks they have 70 grand to throw at one player . But then again they have already done that with Defoe . A nickel & dime club living the high life on Other People’s Money.
Ah another feelgood factor positive article in the daily ranger about Morelos being sold in the summer for £13 million . The teams coming in for him are Seville ,Atletico Madrid, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Leicester and Inter . Oh dear here we go again with this transfer merrygoround for the cry baby that throws his toys out the pram all the time . You wonder when these people will waken up and smell the coffee. Nobody is interested in Morelos and there is no cash to buy players , they will be lucky to have cash to pay them the wages that are owed never mind buying players .
Decisions?
At Hampden…?
They’ve had over 2 weeks to publicise – or make – the best decision for the overall benefit of Scottish football.
But, all we have had is kite flying from various pundits, or ‘unnamed sources’… possibly to test the water?
Whatever decisions are taken at Hampden – if at all – they’re guaranteed to be;
– as late as possible
&
– communicated poorly, to leave various clubs and supporters confused and/or raging.
At least the blazered buffoons tend to be consistent in their leadership of Scottish football. 🙁
I have no doubt that Rangers will do all they can to prevent Celtic being declared 9 IAR champions.
They have failed miserably on the field of play and it would be no surprise if they sought a legal solution to prevent the inevitable.
King as majority shareholder will be pulling the strings from South Africa and we are all too aware of his propensity to seek legal address no matter how unlikely he can win a case.
I doubt whether Park Senior or Junior will be rushing to sign cheques at the behest of King in these circumstances.
With Rangers joining Celtic in pushing ST deadlines back to 31st May cash, or lack of it, will be first and foremost in all clubs minds.
Park’s core business will be under huge strain over the next few months as neither companies or individuals will be splashing out on new or used cars during the current crisis and for a time thereafter.
With their bankers looking over Park’s shoulder they will be taking a dim view on moving money to help a business which has never reported a trading profit in it’s history with the prospect of payback somewhere between slim and never.
We are in uncharted territory and no doubt the government will not be extending a helping hand to football clubs some of whom are paying players hundreds of thousands of pounds per week and in Rangers case tens of thousands.
Great point
We went through league restructuring in recent years. All variants were modeled. We have the optimum solution in Scotland.
To suggest changing League formats during this pandemic is disgraceful. For the benefit of just one club, Hearts, is disgraceful.
If Hamilton, Ross County or St. mirren were bottom would we be hearing such calls? No!
One club are deemed champions each year. One club, at least, are relegated. It happens to be Hearts they’ve been rotten and deserve it. The fact it’s Hearts makes zero difference.
You are correct Hearts have been worse than poor, however you totally miss the point. Hearts have the chance to stay up if games are played. Therefore it would be against the rules to relegate under such circumstances. Then you have those teams in the Championship who have a chance of gaining a promotion spot. To call the league now would deny them the chance of promotion and on down to the lower leagues, the knock on effect is huge. Therefore it’s not JUST ABOUT HEARTS.
There is a very very slim chance that Sevco can catch Celtic and until the numbers make that impossible there can be no calling it as it is.
Therefore the only way to make this disaster in any way realistic is to call Celtic Champions and increase the league next season ( even if only for one season ). The only down side is from a blue side that think they have a chance to win the league, so one team disappointed while the rest get on with making the best of a poor choice.
There are NO rules such as those you mention. The ONLY time the length of a season is mentioned anywhere in the rules really could NOT be more clear.
“The season shall start on the day the first match is played and end on the day the last match is played, unless otherwise decided by the board.”
Look at the last part of that.
UNLESS OTHERWISE DECIDED BY THE BOARD.
That is the SPFL board. Not the SFA or UEFA.
If anyone doubts the accuracy of what I’m saying here read the rules for yourself. If I might make one suggestion though, just read the relevant part. Otherwise it will be two hours of your life that have gone forever.
Hearts are just another nickel & dime club like sevco . When it comes to a discussion about Celtic against sevco and Hearts it’s mind over matter . We don’t mind and they don’t matter .
13 old pensioners with dementia have died in a care home in Scotland. As long as one young football fan has this virus and can go in and visit his Gran/ Grandad, then football should not resume.
These old people matter. They must be tested to prove it was Covid19. The Govt knew old people were the highest risk for this virus for four months. They even mentioned old folks homes. Why didn’t the govt direct PPE for staff? Were new procedures written?
Nicola Sturgeon and her health secretary had four months warning what did they do?
What is England doing to stop this?
Was there negligence?
Do employees actually care about old people or is it just a job and to hell with extra work precautions? Were extra precautions put in place?
There needs to be a Public Enquiry about this single incident where 13 Scots died.
A 5 year old had died, as well as teenagers and others who are not “old pensioners”.
Everyone is at risk from this virus and this complacent attitude that it only affects the old needs to stop.
Exactly. It’s highly unlikely ANY enquiry would leave us any wiser about how this came about. There are simply too many possibilities.
Was the infection brought in by a staff member who infected a resident who then began the chain of passing it round?
Was it brought in by a visitor?
A delivery person?
Was it picked up by a resident in the wider community?
Did they in fact die of the Covid-19 virus? All of them? Some of them? None of them? The last I heard that hadn’t actually been established.
There seems to be an assumption that ANYONE who dies WITH the virus, died OF the virus. That is NOT a logical assumption to make and could in fact be counterproductive.
I think we would all prefer to get the games played but there is no way that the pandemic is going to go away anytime soon and there are twin dangers in easing restrictions too soon and inviting another wave of the virus.
We are 80% through the fixtures and Celtic have a 14 point advantage taking GD into account.
They won’t be caught. Ditto Dundee United in the Championship. However there are lots of variables with regards to European places and relegation.
We know too well how the SFA have responded in the past by ignoring their own rules to sweep the EBT scandal under the carpet with Bryson coming up with his ‘imperfect’ registrations of the dozens of Rangers players which should have resulted in a number of trophies being stripped from them.
There is no one at the SFA or SPFL who can be trusted to make the right decisions for Scottish football.
FFS we have an SFA Chief Exec with a passing aquaintace of the English language and whose most successful achievement in his short time in the job is his brilliant impersonation of the invisible man.
How can that be? What sort of recruitment process was undertaken before Maxwell was appointed?
Were there hundreds of applications and dozens of interviews carried out before the appointment was made as befits a job of this size and the very generous renumeration package that goes with it?
I stand to be corrected if that were the case but if so what did Maxwell have to offer that made him stand out from other potential candidates?
Again I stand to be corrected but was anyone else actually interviewed for the job and if not why not?
I dont think even sevco are so stupid as to take matters to the CAS if celtic are declared champions, without the season being completed. If they ask the arbiters to overturn any decision, I reckon they risk incurring the wrath of Ceferin, who is hellbent on having somebody’s head on a plate at the best of times. It might become entirely possible that, as a punishment, Res12 becomes a topic of interest to him, and I think we all know how that might well pan out. Banning them from participating in UEFA tournaments might well be the punishment for going to CAS, but with any luck, sevco will be told that their history ended in 2012, their “54” titles are reviewed, and amended to take account of those trinkets and baubles “won” during the creative accountancy years, and that, as a new club, they cannot use the name or intellectual property of the old club, and indeed, they also cannot wear a strip that is similar to that of the old club. That would mean no more light blue shorts, and certainly no more orange shirts to.. ahem!.. “honour” their former players from Holland.
Having said all that, I’d love to see sevco have a crack at it, just to watch them crash and burn!
Remunerated
You’ve got sharp eyes John.
On FF they are demanding Parks takes court action if Celtic are declared champions good luck with that then . Sevco keep shouting for the season to be null and void but never follow that up with who takes the champions league place or any other places for European competitions . The chaps at Hampden are playing a game of Russian roulette in trying to come to a decision . On another matter I see Bambe Gascoigne at ibrox noise is backtracking on having a go at King from the other day and has now come out and said King is the man who put sevco back on their feet . Oh dear once again Bamber comes out with some more ridiculous statements than what he has previously posted which you don’t is possible, but he never disappoints us .
The Law Society Of Scotland must love Sevco for their generous and recurrent donations to its members’well being.
Phil as always a great article.
If Ran2ers are our current chalengers then I don’t care how, who or when the give he flag to the league champions… if 9 doesn’t come this year it certainly will next.
Rubbish. R u a Gullibillie?
We will have the SPFL Premiership 19/20 title THIS YEAR.
