The wheels on the Sevco bus

I checked back with a source today who had access to the latest Sevco failure at Tynecastle.

He confirmed what Mr Let’s Go had said on camera, that he didn’t go into the away dressing room to give his guys a dressing down.

I told him that my information was that the ex-Liverpool U18 coach had forbidden any of his backroom team from going in to see the Gumtree Galacticos.

Although that was true he did eventually relent on the night.

Apparently,  a more senior member of Gerrard’s staff pointed out the inconvenient fact that the team did actually need some basic information there and then.

He certainly had a point.

So he was allowed to enter the dressing room to tell them that there would be no de-brief now.

He simply told them about the next training session and to get on the bus.

Little did they know that their rookie manager had just thrown them under it.

If anyone is convinced by the Gerrard presser today then they haven’t been paying attention.

  1. The humps on the road around here are called sleeping policemen, round Govan way there called sleeping Sevco players. However most are spaced so buses miss them, not there they hit every one.

  2. Where is the SFA on this:

    https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/rangers-win-uefa-licence-battle-12947996

Is it an example of the SFA-Sevco joint destruction of Res12?

Or of SFA-Sevco-CELTIC joint destruction of Res12?

Quite simply the SFA Need to take it to CAS. They have had 8 months.

Celtic need to push for CAS. RFC/TRFC can’t get away with cheating. Particularly after the SKY translate Morelos gate.

Celtic Shareholders have paid for lawyers on this, it can’t be swept under a carpet because the SFA is compromised on it.

  3. Sevco players are burnt out. Two years of Gerrard high tempo push and they have crashed.

It’s understandable and was inevitable. They didn’t have the squad to rotate.

A hard pre season and winter training instead of winter rest has done for them. It’s hard football 12 months a year and too many competitions.

Hearts can beat them two out of two. Every team who gives SEVCO their best game gets a result.

They’re out on their heavy tired legs and the split should prove difficult for them against Scotland’s top clubs.

Some players are clearly going out onto the pitch nursing injuries. Ryan Jack looks crocked still as does James Tavernier.

Getting thrown under a bus whilst running out injured for Slippy is hard to take.

  4. 6 points over tonight and Saturday will leave us 13pts to the good with 8 games to play, GD included. There’s no way back from that. Stevie G has an interesting conundrum coming up. Last 16 tie against the German cracks with Celtic at home sandwiched between the Europa ties.
Will he rotate his squad to give precedence to the Europa games and run the risk of 3 skelpings? The Ibrox league game could mathematically seal the deal for the Hoops and only progression to the last 8 would soothe the Ibrox fans or would it?
If the Germans are anywhere near the standard that Munich displayed at Chelsea last week then its definitely bye bye Rangers.
With the Hummel/Elite deal collapsing and Sports Direct’s solicitors on the clock the last thing Rangers fans want to hear will be news of a mega kit deal announcement from Celtic with Adidas as is being currently touted.

  5. On a cold winters evenin
On a bus now bound for Govan
    Fucked off with Alfredo
    So skunnerd he canny sleep
So we took turns at steering
The team bus into the darkness
    The Jambos has done us,
    And he began to speak
He said, “Laads I’ve made a life
Out of footy in better places
Eeeeee knowin’ what the goals were
I’ve lived the lows and the highs
I hope you don’t mind me sayin’
    You’re fuckin shit,you are disgraces
For a taste of real success
La I’ll give you this advice”
They were told they had no bottle
    Wee Alfie swallow swallowed
    Slippy lit himself a rollie
And then went for a shite
Oh the bus got awfy smelly
    His team now in depression
He said, “If you’re gonna play the game, La
You’ve got to learn to play it right
You’ve got to know when to press ’em
    Know when to hold ’em
    Know when to walk away
Know this you are a hun
    You never count your chickens
When you’re second in the table
There’ll be time enough for countin’
    When Celtic end their run
    Every Sevconian knows
    That the secret to survivin’
Is knowin’ we have a five way
In the safe is where it’s kept
    ‘The fenian hand’s a winner
    The red hand’s a loser
And the best you can hope for
is to win against the sheep’
    And when he finished speakin
He turned back toward the window
Put out his half smoked rollie
    Then went off to sleep
    And the forces of darkness
    They swore to get even
    But in his final words
They found so hard they began to weep
Cause you gotta know when to scold ‘em
    Know when to praise ’em
    Know when to walk away
And know you are a hun
    You never count your chickens
When you’re second at the table
Cause the Celtic are still countin’
And the Leagues now nearly won
You’ve got to know when to scold ’em (when to scold ’em)
Know when to praise ’em (when to praise ’em)
    Know when to walk away
And know you are a hun
    You Club has no money
Oh you’re second in the table
    The Celtic fans are singin’
    The nines now nearly done
    And Minty never told ’em
So Hector had to fold ’em
And the players did walk away
That was the end of the Hun

  6. I’ve become a Billy Gilmour fan after tonight’s showing for Chelsea. Well done kid. A Scottish great in the making there. Reminded me in his interview of a young Kieran Tierney.

    • Chelsea have taken 2 years 9 months to develop Gilmour into the player he is.

Sevco could never have developed him.

King sold him out the door for £400k or so. That kind of money was welcome in May 2017. However King was later forced to pump millions into SEVCO to keep it afloat. He went ALL IN and is now ALL OUT.

    • So Mr Me Me has come out and spoke with the press regarding Morelos FC . This is an absolute cert to come back and bite him in bum . Morelos will be fuming that Slippy has shot him down in flames and it’s guaranteed to fire him up into another frenzy. Give it 3 games at most and he will be sent off again the guy does not know how to behave himself . He will take the public chastising from Mr Me Me straight to his heart and probably feels and it maybe should have been kept indoors. But Slippy calls the shots here because it’s me players me backroom staff me fans me board and me club that Alfredo is letting down .

  7. Well, everybody will soon see how Gerrard has ‘successfully managed’ the fallout from the Hearts defeat.

A home tie on Wednesday night against the Accies ‘should’ be a straightforward league win – and the TRFC players’ body language will be clear for all to see.

    • Aye. It could be interesting. For all the smoke and mirrors SG knows, the players know, the fans know, the media knows but will NEVER admit it!! Their season is over!! Accies are fighting for their Premier League survival. They have now done that successfully for around five years.

For Sevco, tomorrow could almost decide IF they can take it to the split.

Be really interesting to see the size of the crowd. That will be very telling of the general mood of the ORCS.

  8. The thing about ‘that’ poker analogy is that when you go ‘all in’ you have nothing left, and no other options when you lose.

  9. I kid you not, but along with this article, I’m getting an advert telling me to download the McGills Bus app!!

What with Gerrard throwing his players under the bus regularly, I’m surprised the ads dont include McGills timetable as well!!

    🤣🤣🤣

  10. There is a statement on FF apparently from morelos full apologises to the manager the team the club and the fans . Now what everyone wants to know is this the official statement from morelos or is another make believe made up one from somewhere else with someone else’s interpretation we need to ask as you never know what it is coming out over there.

  11. I agree. He cannot walk back what he said. Or what he did. It showed a real lack of judgement. I could not believe that any manager would have said what he said.

    • Anyone remember big Efe going AWOL after Nigeria won the African Cup of Nations? The team returned home for a victory parade and an official reception. Afterwards Efe and a few of his team mates went for a couple of drinks to relax as good mates do.

A couple led to a few. A few led to a lot. A lot led to a full-blown two day bender.

When he eventually got back a couple of days late Lenny hauled him in, stonker of a hangover and all, and asked for an explanation. The big man told the complete truth.

As an ex-pro Lenny realised the enormity of what Efe and his mates had achieved AND their need to let off a bit of steam after the pressure. Efe was given a token fine and told to apologize to his team mates. No one wanted any more than that. They all knew that for all his occasional blunders, the big man would go through a brick wall for them.

My favourite bit was Lenny’s next presser when someone asked about it. “The matter has been dealt with in house to everyone’s satisfaction. Efe has assured me it won’t happen again.” A wry smile. A slight shake of the head. And “Unless he wins another Cup of Nations!”

      Brilliant man management.
