Imagine your football club had set up an operation to raise funds and had the term “Youth Development” in the title.
Seems perfectly reasonable, indeed, laudable.
Then imagine that this same entity contributed the hard-earned profits to something other than developing the stars of the future.
How would you feel?

Now, I’m not saying that there isn’t a need for roof development at Ibrox.
Indeed, regular readers here will know of the ongoing situation with the stadium that John Brown played for.

It is just that those who contributed to the “Rangers Youth Development Company” might not have had cladding in mind when they parted with their money.
Of course, it might all be there in the small print, but the headline statement is“youth development”.
Consequently, that is what ordinary people tend to focus on when they are shelling out.
The thing is when folks are irked about such matters it is often a good idea to get ahead of it and spin it as good news.

However, I’m sure that isn’t what is happening here.
No, not a bit of it…
Moreover, I’m confident that the news of this…ahem…donation will have been subjected to the usual rigorous journalistic scrutiny from the chaps on the sports desks.

I was curious as to how Dorrans could be on holiday at this time of year. Of course, being a Celt, I’d forgotten the season for players of lesser teams is over a lot sooner than end of May.
To be utterly fair, the stadium may be old & dilapidated but the term “youth development” fits rather perfectly with an Ibrox based club still in its, ahem, ‘formative years’ .
Two great articles stuffed full of truths, giving right minded folks hope for a better future.
Bravo and thanks Phil,
HH💚🍀✅
Could the roof be falling down or is it just the sky? HH
Surely, they should be asking HM Armed Forces to pay for these roof repairs? After all, outside of those charged with routine roof maintenance work, the only others to have been given unfettered access to these roofs are those in combat fatigues?
I cannot say I’m surprised by this action – after all, didn’t they divert funds away from charities around 2011/2012, when they held a charity match at Ibrox, with the opposition being provided by (if memory serves me correctly) AC Milan?
I can’t believe that Sevco have been endangering the lives of those poor noble squaddies by allowing them to abseil from a hazardous roof.
The next Armed Forces day they’ll have to abseil from the goal frames instead.
They could even combine it with the crossbar challenge, to simulate a proper combat situation. Staunch!
I’m afraid that, for reasons of health and safety, they cannot abseil from the goal frames. The reason for this is that somebody in a green and white hooped top is forever tying scarves to them! 😆
Bummer, I was waiting for the roof fell in jokes. But on to the youth development fund, the small print might say it might not be football that you train for but roofing specialist.😂😂😂
Another thorn in their side Phil keep at them.
Hail Hail 🍀🍀🍀
