I probably should have known that money would be at the core of the Great Fence of Auchenhowie story.
It IS true that Mr Let’s Go was incensed at the leaking of team sheets etc.
However, a fence, however tall, would hardly solve his mole problem.
The key, as I was told by an Ibrox insider tonight, is the adverting that will adorn this quintessentially British structure.
It has been widely reported that Sevco’s resident MBE will have a sit down with the convict chairman either today or tomorrow.
Late last week Mr Gerrard was told by the Director of Fantasy that the best he could hope for would be to keep what he generated.
Therefore, if he sold player A for X amount then that would be his transfer budget in the summer.
Apart from that, it will be loan deals.
I learned tonight that there as a meeting on Friday.
At that conclave, the Serious Professional tried to broach the subject of the impending court case with General Ashley.
However the impecunious ruler wouldn’t hear of it and instead wanted to focus on the Player of the Year event.
My guy remarked to me that this was looking increasingly like the David Murray of corporate governance.
What WAS discussed in some detail was those rogues on the BBC who keep telling the truth about the state of Sevco’s finances.
The esteemed chairman is a man of many convictions, 41 of them to be precise.
At this sit-down, he chastised his intergalactic media guru.
The South African based entrepreneur wanted to know why the folks at Pacific Quay had not been brought into line.
The Impecunious One was outraged that the shaky finances at Ibrox had been so openly discussed on air.
However, not all of those within the Sevco High Command were infuriated with the BEEB’s coverage of their Holding Company Vehicle’s cashflow issues.
“You cannot dispute facts” was one dignified observation.
Quite so.
In fact, that is so true it could be written on the Great Fence of Auchenhowie.

Haud on son, haud on.
Mr Impecunious may indeed be a man of many convictions. I put it to you that referring to him in a post about The Great Fence, might confuse some into thinking that amongst his many and varied skills are those of a latter day D’Artagnan.
All for one and one for all is a noble sentiment, even the more cynical of your readers would en guard against impuning The Great Fence – er who moves with the silky skills of a mongoose, with the base attributes found in the common….but not garden… fence. This type of fence believes in All for one and All for one, and is generally found in the dock, selling off illgotten gains lifted from the more gullible members of society.
Is this the type of person in charge of one of our great institutions……???
It is….!!!
Help ma Boab….jings…who’d have thunk it….???
Hard to believe that the finance from advertising companies will be of much benefit, Auchenhowie is the middle of nowhere and the centre of not going anywhere. HH
Perhaps if they build it high enough and get enough advertising support the project could be self financing or even return a profit?
It’s pretty obvious that the financial issues haven’t filtered down to the fans as they discuss their recruitment needs in the coming window.
Not a single question on their internet sites as to why a further Close Bros loan was required to see out the season.
Similarly not a murmur on this week’s court case with Sports Direct, as if it’s not happening. Probably this comes from the statement made by King wherein he espoused that the £2m one of payment to Sports Direct saw Ashley leave the premises.
Given what we know now that particular statement could be construed as a wee bit misleading.
No doubt if damages are awarded to Sports Direct this week King, if possible, will resort to his favourite ploy of kicking the can down the road.
In the case of a High Court damages award is there a provision for time to pay?
Guess King will be looking for someone else to pay for this wall / fence… like the Mexicans…or Colombians…? 🙂
Phil – don’t you be ripping the pish out of their fence now!..
This amazing structure is going to bring them untold wealth from the Far East. I have it on good authority that Air China are starting a twice-daily service from Beijing to Glasgow International and Glasgow Prestwick airports, to cope with the demands of the Chinese people to witness, first-hand, sevco’s answer to the Great Wall of China. Theirs will not be seen from space, hence the influx of Chinese tourists, who wish to gaze at this wonderment at close quarters!
As long as you don’t follow this news story with,’The Great Barrier Grief’ Phil.
Having a fence put up to keep the players from jumping it and making a break for 🏴FREEDOM🏴 can’t be that expensive, surly even sevco can afford one.
Ah,well just another obstacle between sg and the Limpopo Limbo-dancer Snake-hips King.Speaking of Kings,Game of Thrones gets underway soon, they seem to have no problems getting rid of unwanted monarchy’s in that show.
That leaves me to wonder IF DCK auditioned for a part,I truly hope so…
HH🍀
I believe that Donald Trump is being consulted with regards to the fence, in the hope that the Mexicans will carry the cost.
The 2nd paragraph of yours post makes no sense at all!!…
Why would anybody there want to make a break for freedom when they have world-class breakfasts, the greatest manager on Planet Earth, the best-behaved fans in the world, and let’s not forget that, in their short life, they are Going for 55! What’s not to stick around for?!! 😂😂😂
