Winning friends in Livingston and altered nationality

It was a bad day at the office for The People yesterday.

Of course, that means that everyone else has to have a bad day too.

I understand that the SPFL Match delegate at Livingstone is an ex-Policeman.

I’m sure that his report will make interesting reading.

Of course, the klan does not need to be in a football stadium to disgrace themselves.

If the allegation contained within this tweet turns out to be true then I will not have to alter my worldview apropos the Ibrox customer base.

It is worth noting that when an English journalist in the 1960s described the Ibrox klanbase as “huns” he was referring to their behaviour, not their background.

The two reasons for some optimism so far in the Gerrard reign is their European campaign and the faltering start made by Celtic.

The former has yielded much-needed revenue and the latter indicates that the all-conquering Hoops might be running out of steam.

I noted that the Daily Radar had slightly altered how they describe Brendan Rodgers.

In his first two seasons at Parkhead, he was the “Northern Irishman” now  I note from this recent piece that he’s one of our own again!

For the avoidance of doubt, I do not know how Mr Rodgers would self-define his heritage or nationality as that is a matter for him and him alone.

A cynic might conclude that this was the Daily Radar indulging in some dog whistle subbing…

I, of course, couldn’t possibly comment.

After a calamitous summer transfer window brought to you by Heated Driveway Hubris, all that Rodgers can do is to encourage his key players to re-discover their treble-winning swagger.

A small step on that journey might have been taken on Saturday.

What is certain is that there can be no errors in the recruitment process during the next window for Celtic.

  1. Apparently the tribute club are very anxious to find the coin thrower, their main hope is that he will throw some small change their way.
Hail, Hail, Phil, keep up the good work.

  2. Livvie should have taken a 3 goal lead. Apparently the Scottish crowd added an anti-SFA song to the usual songbook. Sky thought they had to even things up with 10 mins of anti-Celtic at then end.

Slight segway can anyone tell me how sevco can sell their official tat in JD Sport, Big Mike is not one for giving an inch. Apparently the Turkish tat are better quality to the Hummel official tat and that’s from sevco fans.

  3. I’m surprised at the level of criticism being directed at Gerrard from their fan base.
Patience is clearly thin on the ground and a Hearts win on Sunday plus a Celtic win at Perth will raise the temperature ten fold.
Of course the mainstream media is still on message with Celtic in crisis, yet 2 points better off than the Ibrox club!
I was wondering why they managed to get Barasic for what looked like a bargain price based on his performances against them in the Europa and him being on the fringes of the Croatian national squad.
Like Tavernier on the other side it’s clear that defending is not his strong suit and teams will target him accordingly.
Lets see how the media react if further ground is lost to Hearts and Celtic at the weekend.
So early in the season but no doubt the game against Hearts is a must win.
