I was disappointed that planet Fitba did not get a chance to see Señor Carlos Alberto Peña Rodríguez strutting his stuff for Sevco today.
It was very much a must win match for the beleaguered “Poundshop Mourinho” and he failed to deliver.
Intriguingly the Mexican Zidane started on the bench, probably after he pissed a late fatness test.
If football is about entrainment then this lad Peña could be box office!
Well, I’m told that he has certainly been entertaining at Murray Park this week.
Some players go missing in matches, but there really shouldn’t be a need for a search party during training.
It would appear that the Mexican thinks he is on flexitime at Sevco.
When he did turn up and take part in a practice match this week I’m told that he left a firm impression on one of his team mates.
As I said, entertaining.
For the avoidance of doubt Señor Peña is the second highest-paid player at the Engine Room Subsidiary at the moment.
Things have come to a sorry pass when two members of the Sevco High Command, who actually made the decision to hire Pedro, told the likable Portuguese chap this week that he had to exert some control over his most expensive signing.
As I said, entertaining.
Highly entertaining.

Does anyone know if all of Pedro signing are on 52 weeks contracts?. Cant be a happy camper if Tav and For are on 48 weeks contracts and Pena picking up 52.
Pedro’s team is mince, and Pedro is a mincepie manager… he won’t last past Christmas. PS: That joke is about 200 years older than Sevco.
Mark Allen started his DOF role officially at the beginning of August.
Perhaps his first move will be to curtail the manager and the players daily blabbing about what they are going to do on the park, then failing miserably to walk the walk.
Two decent friendly results and a tanking of Dunfermline had the bears in raptures with Going For 55 back on the agenda.
If money has run out then there will be no Moult, Walker or McLean added to the squad unless someone leaves and brings in a fee………most probably undisclosed though the eejit that planted the £1m Waghorn transfer fee story, £200k according to Ipswich, will talk the number up. With McKay having gone for a pittance there are no saleable assets that will bring in enough cash to make a difference to the overall financial position.
With his business background it won’t take Mr Allen long to suss out that what he’s walked into is not exactly what he signed up for.
His first task may well be the replacement of the current first team coach and his management team. Despite the talk of 3 year contracts there’s no way that Rangers don’t have a clause in his contract that will allow them to terminate the contracts at a minimum cost……surely?
Pena, Dalcio and Herrera already look out of their dept, whilst Alves and Cardoso were both very shaky against Motherwell and Hibs.
Celtic kicked off at Killie with 8 Scots in the team, Rangers had 4 v Hearts.
The Celtic back 4 had a combined age lower than that of Alves and Miller combined. Mr Allen has the mother of all jobs with a limited time to turn things around and patience in short supply.
Rangers need CL group stage participation now and the only chance of that happening will be to finish runners up in this season’s SPFL and Celtic bring the big cup back to Glasgow!
Pot 3 and not another group of death would be welcome with European football after Xmas the target, confirming real progress whilst maintaining domestic dominance.
Three targets for the DOF position all asked sevco what their department budget was?
Unhappy with the reply they all kindly declined the DOF job.
Mr. Allen will reap what he sows. Or less depending on his intelligence.
Garner, Waghorn and MacKay. Four games into the Championship season. 3, 3, and 2 goals respectively.
Oh aye, I forgot to.mention O’Halleron. I think he’s 4 in 3 games. Five points behind the true and glorious champions after three games. The champions who only dropped eight points in 38 games last season. Oh dear oh dear sevconians. Things DO NOT look good!!!
Is it safe to say if they go eight points behind the leaders their season is over?
I can’t envisage them securing European football next season. They will come fifth. No chance of winning a cup.
Aye, indubitably.
They’re trying to break their record this year and finish 50 points behind Sellick.
Hopefully Tight Wad King will open the sporran and spend big to buy success. No need to bother about FFP, it didn’t stop a Euro license from the SFA this season so it never will.
I’ve seen little or no mention of the new DOF at Ibrox….has he started yet?
At least he will be involved in finding Pedro’s successor, presumably a Spanish or Portoguese coach who can talk to the players in their first languages.
If the biscuit tin has indeed been emptied with PC’s spending will it be loan deals with Man City or other PL teams, though the salaries of some of these youngsters may be a touch to much for the Ibrox board?
The only reference to the DOF that I’ve seen recently is a statement he made recently that he is going to make Rangers* a selling club.
I wonder how much the next “basket of assets” will fetch?
“Pissed a late fatness test” do you mean this or mistyped “missed a late fitness test”?
Can help edit if required?
No, it was entirely intentional on my part.
Clearly, the humour rather passed you by…
Thankfully others saw the trajectory of my barb.
Dude, if you really are an ‘old editor’ how could you have missed this hilarious line?
Can’t say you’ve done your CV any favours here and I’ll stick to my own internal proofreader, thanks.
Well done Mr Malaprop.
They kept a clean sheet at home on Saturday which is an undisputed improvement for a new team and manager in their 2nd season amongst the big boys. That was a good realistic holding result for them in their chaos as a club. Whether they can improve further or they deteriorate and implode is what remains to be seen. They continue to be run like a bowling club where income is unreliable, at best. Hell mend them, they are led by amateurs, and reported on by unfortunately thick fans with typewriters with a few exceptions. Without free critique of their entire club by all and sundry they will be stuck in a rut attracting only bigots, and 2nd class employees. Pedro is a product of their karma, and thankfully gives us all a giggle.
I see demands from the fans to sign Walker, McLean and Moult….they just don’t get it do they?
Not one of them would get a seat on the Celtic bench. They need to sign players who are as good, or better, than their Celtic equivalents, before they can even dream of making a challenge. And it goes without saying appoint a manager capable of taking on Brendan.
That can’t be done on the cheap.
After all the publicity about King playing hardball with Big Mike and the much vaunted increase in merchandising income what is going on?
I read somewhere that it will be 2 months before any tops will be available in the shops, how so?
Proud of our support. Ground breaking stuff once again ?
That ‘club’ hasn’t just become a poisoned chalice for managers, it’s getting like that for players too. Look how their board and fan base are treating almost every ‘name’ they bring in. Hero worship to open abuse within weeks. Questioning allegiances and ‘backgrounds’ of professional sportsmen. Dodgy sackings and a Level of media lies toeing the club party line. Past legends like McCoist and Weir treated with contempt. Doing it all in the name of ‘Rangers’ while that club turns in it’s lever arch grave.
I noticed that Pedro only used two subs in a game where they were drawing 0-0 at home, doesn’t indicate a load of confidence in your star striker who sat out the game on the bench!
Perhaps Monsieur Joey might want to give Senor Carlos a call and pass on a few useful telephone numbers. The Blue Room have previous enforcing some imaginative methods of dismissal of magical top “performers”
Carlos……of the praying hands…….I am led to believe may be doing a “Negri”. HH
Two and a half years now since Dave “as much as it takes” and “£50m children’s inheritance” took control and leadership.
I cannot see them ever winning anything under this guy. Nothing. Ever. They should give him the cold shoulder.
I’m hearing they’re back to who blinks first regarding impending loan requirements. September in 12 days. August wages safe but September cash flow dependant.
I honestly think pedro will be gone by Christmas. The players he has signed will be in for a culture shock up in Dundee or Dingwall on a cold November night. He has also got rid of their best players. This amounts to the ongoing cycle of madness at sevconia.
If ‘by Christmas’ you mean ‘the end of next week’ you’ll be right 🙂
We know they don’t play well at home but I’m not convinced they’re going to travel well either. Hearts would beat them at Tynecastle.
Given Hamilton pump Hibs at Easter Road and Hibs pump Sevco at Ibrox……. Hamilton should view Ibrox as three points.
Is Carlos the guy Pedro stated has started a long goal scoring career at Sevco?
On loan O’Halloran does great. The Sevco fans didn’t like his name.
Firmly joint sixth position, Sevco are five points behind Celtic, Aberdeen and St. Johnstone.
To be fair, August has been a bit chilly for Latinos.
The Daily Record has done a Trump and departed from the high level script. They are reporting four players discarded by Pedro have scored for their new teams. Back to the naughty step for the Record.
I think it’s just a case of “the knives are out” for the Portuguese fellow.
Minus 5 in Govan … mid August ???
Brrr…
Thats really funny 🙂
Mark Warburg on doing well at Nottingham forest, top of league?
Seems players/managers do better when they leave ibrox….. wonder why?
That’s, eh, ‘Warburton’, ‘oldeditor’ …
You’re really not up to speed on this stuff at all, are you ..?
Perhaps he’s in the canteen finishing off a 2nd helping of his World Class Breakfast?
Nicknamed “The Buffalo”
Maybe Pedro should ask him how he plans to get fit while eating chilli burgers and fries followed by 3 pints of Peroni most days.
He only went there so he could shake Celtic players hands 4 times a season.
Not guaranteed unless they get drawn in a cup.
…and he’s still there by that time.
THREE times…. would be more likely!
If I may, I would like to share some Clumpany insights into the methods of Paperwork Pedro… https://theclumpany.wordpress.com/2017/08/18/pedro-factors-poor-management-into-training/
Well, Clumpster, Pedro demanded ‘men’ for his ‘team’ and ‘men’ is what he got …
Men who like to eat themselves stupid, drink lots of beer and fight outside kebab shops.
I mean, what other kind of ‘men’ is there?
The men who don’t like ordinary men ..?
Presumably you learn as much not winning when you are not playing, so still a world beater.
We just don’t know if it’s a football or eating pies….
