The failures of lobby journalism.

A source of mine was on the plane to Holland last week with the official Rangers party and the attendant hack pack.

He noted with interest that despite having Rangers Chairman Alistair Johnston and influential director Donald Muir on the plane that not a single journalist made an approach to these two men.

Yet these two are the main players in THE major Scottish football story  since Celtic were rescued by Fergus McCann in 1994.

At one point Walter more or less snapped his fingers and he had eager hacks around him gasping for his wisdom and his fatherly approval.

Meanwhile the two movers and shakers at Rangers weren’t troubled by a single question.

This is lobby journalism in action.
